I very much enjoyed judging your hounds; all were presented in good order, just a few who would benefit from a visit from the nail clippers! A quality entry, I had little trouble finding good ones to place – especially amongst the bitches who were super. PD (3) 1 Wilberg’s Shardagangsea King at Kanix. Houndy red dog of super type, lovely head proportions, decent reach of neck and well laid shoulders. Well-off for bone with thick padded feet. Moved soundly but needs to settle in his hindquarters, think he will be beaten by the scales, sadly. Best Puppy Dog. 2 Harley’s Truthful Titan at Lyrosh. Red dog of similar type to 1, but not as tidy in front at present. Shown in super condition, sound mover, just needs to tighten fore & aft. 3 Hully’s Maximites Montgomery.
PGD (5) 1 Richardson’s Shemby Spitfire. Shaded red dog who really took my eye, well proportioned head. Good reach of neck and well laid shoulders, neat front with well filled crook, well ribbed with sternum well back. Well angulated rear, moved with drive keeping a firm topline, well handled. Res. Best Dog. 2 Shutt’s Donnadoon Duke of Darkness. Black & tan dog who still has some maturing to do, smaller in frame than 1, but well made with a neat front and tight elbows. Sound mover, just rising over the croup a bit today. 3 Buxton’s Scalamor Scarlet Pimpernel.
OD (5) 1 Baldwin’s Lauralee One For The Road To Beckel. Clear red dog I have admired from the ringside and was not disappointed on getting my hands on him. Beautiful head with tight, dark, almond eye. Elegant neck carriage, super layback of shoulder, well formed front with prominent pro sternum. Terrific ribbing with short, strong loin and hammy, well angulated rear which he really uses on the move – keeping a rock solid topline. A real standard in miniature should gain his title with ease. Best Dog. 2 Punter’s Welcumen Mr Cool. Shaded red dog of nice type, houndy head, good length of neck and well placed shoulders, well ribbed. Not as strong in hind action as 1, but moved well, keeping his topline. 3 Mead’s D’Arisca Dennison.
PB (4) 1 Worswick’s Willowheath Trendie Music To Dolyharp. Black & tan bitch of nearly a year who won the class on maturity. Not a glamour girl but sound all through and in good condition, being well muscled up. Moved well with best topline in class. Best Puppy. 2 Orton’s Scalamor Pussy Willow. Black & tan bitch of super type, thought she would be my winner on the stack but looked such a baby on the move, and needs to tighten all through. Should trouble the best given 6 months to mature on. 3 Graham’s Daisy’ll Do For Jadag.
PGB (8) Best class of the day, really was spoilt for choice. 1 Callow’s Garthorne Leonie. Shaded red bitch teeming with quality, feminine yet houndy head with dark, almond eye, good reach of neck with well laid shoulders. Super front with tight elbows, super ribbing and underline. Short, strong loin, well angulated quarters used to advantage on the move, firm topline. Just got better the more I moved her, a lovely bitch who is, I’m sure, destined for the Upper House. Best Bitch and Best of Breed. 2 Roberts’ Denver Darling Rose Of May. Black & Tan bitch, another good one, unlucky to meet 1 on such good form. Has breed type & elegance in abundance, well off for bone and had super, thick, padded feet. Beautifully constructed all through and moved soundly with good drive and extension. 3 Scott’s Mayday’s Rose Red.
OB (5) 1 Ergis’ Bronia Stunning Sophia For Siouxline JW ShCM. Red bitch of good type, elegant head and good length of neck. Decent front with good length of upperarm and layback of shoulder. Well ribbed and decent quarters, has bone and substance without being "doggy". Moved like a bomb, keeping her topline, lovely bitch. Res. Best Bitch. 2 Callow’s Ch Garthone Highlight. Super red bitch who I see is dam of BOB. Very similar except in a smaller package. Beautifully made all through and excelling in hindquarters. Moved well but made it clear she was not "in the mood today" which cost her. Another lovely bitch. 3 Crawley’s Donnadoon Elouise At Doujack.
