PAIGNTON 2004 NO CC'S Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) Judge: Mrs A Jeffery

PD. (2). 1. Garman’s, Siouxline Matthais. B/t 11 months old. Excellent front and ribbing, nice tight feet. Would have preferred a better shaped head and he still cuts up a little behind which spoils his overall balance. However time is on his side.
JD. (5). 1. Baker’s, Jentiki Flame and Fizz. Red lad. Good head and expression. Nice deep prosternum. Well off for ribbing. Kept topline at all times. He moves so true fore and aft. 2. Baldwin’s, Lauralee One for the Road to Beckel. Thought he would be my winner as he is so well balanced. Unfortunately his front movement on the day let him down. 3. Lashbrook’s, Merrygarth Jackson at Milfer.
PGD. (2). 1. Bursey’s, Berrycourt Joint Statement. This red lad is well made all through, but I would like to see him with a fraction more weight to finish the picture. RBD.
OD. (2). 1. Punter’s, Ch. Welsumen Whiskey. A well deserved Champion from this kennel. Pleasing outline and type keeping his shape on the move. BD in the challenge for BOB he tended to move rather wide behind.
PB. (3). 1. Orton’s, Scalamor Prim Rosie. Red young lady 10 months old well made. Long, low and level. Good front. Nice angulations. Moved soundly. BP. 2. Young’s, Willowheath Wendy. Another quality puppy similar comments to winner, but not so positive behind on the day. 3. Reed’s, Deercroft Midnite Magnolia.
JB. (4). 1. Voaden’s, Berrycourt Black Magic. My notes say ‘nice throughout with good bone’. Feminine head, sweet expression. Adequate forechest. Neat front, good length and angulations. Level topline. RBB. 2. Reed’s, Deercroft Dolly Daydream. B/t. Nice outline. Good length of neck and back. Excellent ribbing. Sound movement. 3. Orton’s, Scalamor in Fuchsia.
PGB. (3). 1. Ergis’s, Bronia Stunning Sophia for Siouxline JW. Ch CM. I can remember seeing her as a puppy and she has matured well ‘stunning’ was a good choice for her name! Long, low and level with good head, reach of neck. Well angulated both ends with free purposeful movement. She just commands attention. BB and BOB. 2. Lashbrook’s, Milfer Little Miss Muffet. Another nice bitch well made throughout. Would have preferred a little more ground clearance in front. 3. Gate’s, Berrycourt Sweet Memories of Setaga.
OB. (6). My headache of the day. 1. Ergis’s, Ch. Siouxline Angelina. A quality bitch who has been a wonderful ambassador for the breed with great success in the ring. It was an honour to go over her, but not so settled in the challenge with a fresh handler, and she had to give way to the youngster on the day. 2. Young’s, Willowheath Wanda. Unlucky to meet winner she has very positive movement. Super length and balance. Well presented. 3. Bursey’s, Berrycourt Dancing Queen at Hartlake.
