MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
My first appointment with CCs, I thank all exhibitors for their support and the sporting manner in which they accepted my decisions.
PD. (8). A lovely class to start the day. 1. Coxon’s, D’Arisca Way Down Low. Red dog all of a piece standing and on the move. Lovely head and well made throughout, excelling in front construction. BPD. 2. Ergis’s, Siouxline Thomas. B/tan who looked lovely on the move but needs to relax when standing. Very well made all through and I’m sure will mature and trouble the best. 3. Gorman’s, Merehill Moneyspinner at Cordax.
JD. (3). 1. Widdop’s, Jondac Justin. B/tan of substance and length. Excellent head and ribbing. One who looked lovely on the move but needs to relax on the stance. 2. Longs’, Tydurcwrt First of the Gang. Young b/tan baby with a lot of maturing to do. Good head, compact body. Needs to strengthen all through, but shows promise.
SYD. (1). 1. Hartley’s, Truthful Titan at Lyrosh. Red dog of good length and overall body proportions. Very good head, ears and reach of neck. Moved soundly.
PGD. (2). 1. Payton’s, Marajo Moccasin. Nice b/tan dog of good overall body proportions. Well boned and moved soundly. 2. Hully’s, Maximites Montgomery. Very nice b/tan. Good head and lovely outline when standing. Very well ribbed but I preferred the winner on the move.
LD. (3). 1. Coxon’s, D’Arisca Inkel Impressario. This dog in my opinion is a real gem. A stallion hound with the most beautiful outline standing and on the move. I loved everything about him from his masculine head, soundness and lowness to the ground. He encapsulates the 3 l’s long, low and level. I wish he was mine. CC and BOB. The first of many I hope. 2. Shult’s, Donnadoon Prince’s Passion. Very nice b/tan who looked very good on the move showing his many virtues to good advantage. However, needs to relax when standing. 3. Crouch’s, Welcumen Private Bejamin.
OF. (6). 1. Callow’s, Garthorne Man in Black. Very elegant, sound b/tan who looked very good on the day. Lost to CC winner on lowness to the ground. I hope his third CC is not long in coming. RCC. 2. Mead’s, Ch. D’Arisca Dennison. Smart, compact b/tan with a lovely outline standing and on the move. I simply preferred the head of winner. 3. Ergis’s, Siouxline Tennyson.
VB. (2). 1. Luke’s, Lyrosh Contessa Lucia. 2. Crouch’s, Hobbithill Clover Welcumen. 2 red ladies in lovely condition with a few grey hairs between them. Both moved soundly and were well made. Winner scored in topline on the move.
PB. (8). 1. Daykin’s, Barratini Magic Moment. Lovely red bitch, all of a piece, standing and on the move. Very nice body proportions. One I liked a lot. BP. 2. Mead’s, Minimaead Miss Peggy Sue. Very nice b/tan who pleased in all attributes. Unfortunately only 1 red card. 3. Paterson’s, Yasmin Fire Babe.
JB. (10). 1. Coxon’s, D’Arisca Art and Design. B/tan who excelled in front construction. Well ribbed and good bone. Moved soundly keeping a level topline. 2. Reed’s, Batendach Storm Alert via Deercroft. Very nice b/tan who pleases in most aspects. Very well ribbed, ,lovely head and excelled on the move. 3. McDonald’s, Bensarka After Midnight.
SYB. (5). 1. Reed’s, Batendach Storm Alert via Deercroft. 2. Shone’s, Lisas Star. Red who needs to body up and gain more weight. Lovely head and in good condition. Needs more time.
PGB. (8). 1. Shuker’s, Yewlitt Sadie. Lovely red, standing and on the move. Excellent head on reachy neck. Pressed hard for top awards. 2. Yeoman’s, Yewlitt Trudi at Webbers. Another lovely exhibit, compact well ribbed and low to the ground. Looked good from all angles very nice exhibit. 3. Shelton’s, Sarde Lady Tara.
LB. (8). In this class I wished I has 2 red cards. Both very different but equally pleasing in all aspects. 1. Callow’s, Garthorne Leonie. Very attractive, compact red. One I liked from all aspects. 2. Plant’s, Merehill Whirly Bird. Glamourous b/tan who looked exquisite on the move. Lost to winner on the stance where she didn’t relax quite as much. 3. Hartley’s, Lyrosh Special Edition.
OB. (5). In this class I was spoilt for choice first and second I have judged before as youngsters. On the day they changed places. 1. Hunt’s, Carpaccion Shopaholic. All you would look for in a Dachshund. She has got better as she got older and matured. Moved like a dream and could not be denied. CC. 2. Ergis’s, Bronia Stunning Sophia for Siouxline. Since judging her as a puppy and I gave her top honours then. She has justly gained her title. She continues to be stunning but on the day I preferred the hindquarters, on the stance, of Shopaholic RCC. 3. Coxon and Jeavons and McMillan’s, Am/Can Ch. Grangables Tickle my Fancy (Imp). Brace. 1. Yoemans. Matched pair of elegant b/tan. They represented the breed well in the best Brace class. 2. Couch’s reds.
