MINIATURE SMOOTH
Thanks for a lovely entry, I enjoyed judging these dear little ds, pity the weather was so chilly, not the best for mini-smooths. The b classes were strong with some lovely girls present.
PD (7). 1 Coxon’s D’Arisca Way Down Low. Masculine red d, beautifully balanced all through, reachy neck flows into well laid shoulders, correctly angulated forehand, ribs carried well back, good top and underline, excellent quarters, quite a big lad, moved true fore and aft with good side gait, RCC and BP; 2 Herrington ës Kathington Chance N Counter. Lower to ground than 1, excellent fore-chest, neat front, slightly short in ribbing, level topline, well bent stifles, moves correctly in front, good side gait, hind movement rather erratic with hocks turning in.
JD (2). 1 Punter’s Welcumen Cool Dude. Lovely head and expression, sound front assembly, level topline both stacked and moving, adequate bend of stifle, looking slightly rangy today and tucked up, moved true fore and aft; 2 Widdop Jondac Justin. More my type but unfortunately his hind movement was all over the place, masculine head, excellent keel, correct front& ribbing, low to ground with good top and underline, pity his hind movement let him down.
SBD (2). 1 Buxton’s Scalamor Scarlet Pimpernel. Low to ground, good depth of rib carried back showing good top and underline, sound front and quarters, just a shade short foreface in otherwise good head, moved OK, preferred his balance over 2; 2 Crouch’s Welcumen Private Benjamin. Masculine head, excellent fore-chest, unfortunately short in under rib making him look tucked up, level topline, moved well.

Lovely type with super head and expression, low to ground, good length, excellent pre-sternum, reachy neck, level topline, well bent stifles, moved with style, just needs to gain more confidence; 2 Hully’s Maximites Montgomery. Attractive B/T liked her overall balance, lovely head and eye, low to ground, good fore-chest and ribbing, level topline, well bent stifles, moved true fore and aft, pretty bright tan markings; 2 Callow’s Garthorne Lady In Black. In a similar mould and close up to 1. Nice head and expression, low to ground, excellent sternum, keel and ribbing, tight elbows, long level topline, well angled quarters, moved with drive; 3 Doran’s Switherland Kaleidoscope.
OB (6). 1 Hunt’s Ch Carpaccio Shopaholic JW. Lovely type, pretty head and expression, excellent front assembly, well laid shoulders, tight elbows, ribs carried back, level topline, sound quarters, excellent side gait, true fore and aft. Preferred her head and front assembly over 2, RCC; 2 Coxon, Jeavons and McMillan’s Am and Can Ch Grandgables Tickle My Fancy (Imp). This b is a showgirl and has a lovely outline when stacked. Her head and ear placement are not to my liking, excellent pro-sternum and length of back and ribbing, good depth of body, I though her shoulder placement slightly steep. Well bent stifles, stood true, attractive colour; 3 Blackburn-Bennett’s Shardagang Pavlova.
