MINIATURE SMOOTH

Thanks for a lovely entry, I enjoyed judging these dear little ds, pity the weather was so chilly, not the best for mini-smooths. The b classes were strong with some lovely girls present.

PD (7). 1 Coxon’s D’Arisca Way Down Low. Masculine red d, beautifully balanced all through, reachy neck flows into well laid shoulders, correctly angulated forehand, ribs carried well back, good top and underline, excellent quarters, quite a big lad, moved true fore and aft with good side gait, RCC and BP; 2 Herrington ës Kathington Chance N Counter. Lower to ground than 1, excellent fore-chest, neat front, slightly short in ribbing, level topline, well bent stifles, moves correctly in front, good side gait, hind movement rather erratic with hocks turning in.

JD (2). 1 Punter’s Welcumen Cool Dude. Lovely head and expression, sound front assembly, level topline both stacked and moving, adequate bend of stifle, looking slightly rangy today and tucked up, moved true fore and aft; 2 Widdop Jondac Justin. More my type but unfortunately his hind movement was all over the place, masculine head, excellent keel, correct front& ribbing, low to ground with good top and underline, pity his hind movement let him down.

SBD (2). 1 Buxton’s Scalamor Scarlet Pimpernel. Low to ground, good depth of rib carried back showing good top and underline, sound front and quarters, just a shade short foreface in otherwise good head, moved OK, preferred his balance over 2; 2 Crouch’s Welcumen Private Benjamin. Masculine head, excellent fore-chest, unfortunately short in under rib making him look tucked up, level topline, moved well.

PGD (4). 1 McAulay’s D’Arisca Ensor Done at Elnside. Lovely type with super head and expression, low to ground, good length, excellent pre-sternum, reachy neck, level topline, well bent stifles, moved with style, just needs to gain more confidence; 2 Hully’s Maximites Montgomery. Not the length of 1 but nice type, low to ground, good backline, keel and ribbing, moved true; 3 Gaskin’s Glorron Petulengro at Dovestream.

LD (7). 1 Doran’s Switherland Altarico. Nice overall balance and outline, lovely head and expression, neat front, tight elbows, level topline, ribs carried well back, good bend of stifle, moved true fore and aft, just lacking sufficient pro-sternum; 2 Baldwin’s Lauralee One For The Road To Beckel. Attractive red d, masculine head, good length of neck& back, firm topline, well ribbed, low to ground, sound quarters, would prefer tighter elbows and a shade more angulation of upper arm, moved well with drive.

OD (6). 1 Mead’s Ch D’Arisca Dennison. Super front assembly on this lad, love his head and expression, the type that I like, excellent fore-chest, keel and ribbing, good topline and underline, well bent stifles, lovely outline and overall balance, moved well, CC; 2 Melbourne’s Melriding Post Hac Meliora. Not the head of ear set of 1 but otherwise v nice d, low to ground, good length of back and ribbing, correct front assembly, sound quarters, balanced outline, moved well; 3 Barber’s Melriding Meruisti.

SpV (3). 1 Endersby Manakoora Lou-Hie-Hie at Mowbray. Nice overall type, neat front, ribbing carried back, good hind angulation, level topline, sufficient length of back, enjoying her day out; 2 Crouch’s Hobbithill Clover Welcumen. Attractive red, lovely head, sweet expression, good keel and length and depth of rib, sound quarters, balanced, moved well, needs to diet! 3 Nolan’s Hampdach Solomist at Eddyval.

MPB (3). 1 Lashbrook’s Little Miss Milly of Milfer. Super red baby, lovely head and eye, reachy neck, good length and excellent front assembly, low to ground, good ribbing, top and underline, angulated quarters, full of quality, moved true, has a bright future; 2 Bethel’s Hampdach Angelic. Likedher length of neck and back, excellent fore-chest for one so young, sound forehand and quarters, moved well, just needs to deepen through; 3 Hartley’s Lyrosh Ebony lady.

PB (12). Excellent class of lovely ps. 1 Mead’s Minimead Miss Peggy Sue. Lovely to go over, pretty head, correct eye shape, lengthy neck, good shoulder placement, tight elbows, ribbing carried back, low to ground, well bent stifles, balanced outline, moved well; 2 Daykin’s Barratini Magic Moment. Another promising p but needs to diet! Lovely head and expression, good length of neck and back, sound front, good keel and ribs long and smooth, moved true fore and aft with drive; 3 Coxon’s D’Arisca Art And Design.

JB (8). 1 Melbourne’s Melriding Slack Alice. I thought this red girl was just lovely, so correct in all departments, expressive head, lovely eye shape, long neck, correct shoulder and upper arm placement, good pro-sternum, elbows tucked in, long smooth ribbing, level topline, good length and bend of stifle, low hocks, moved with drive, balanced all through, CC and BOB; 2 Bates’ Batendach Copyright. Rangier b but I liked her reach of neck, excellent pro-sternum, keel and ribbing, good length level topline, sound quarters, good side gait, moved out well; 3 Graham’s Daisy’ll Do for Jadag.

SBB (4). 1 Yeomans’ Yewlitt Terri at Webbers. Pretty little B/T, nice overall balance, neat front, well ribbed, good top and underline, angled quarters, moved well; 2 Jones’ Woolsocks Chocolate Fudge. Bigger throughout, good fore-chest, tight elbows, ribbing a little short which made her look tucked up, sound behind, moved well, preferred balance of 1; 3 Crouch’s Hobbithill Clover Welcumen.

PGB (12). 1 Worswick’s Willowheath Trendie Music to Dolyharp. This b won on her sound true movement, well balanced with nice outline which stacked, good reach of neck and sternum, tight elbows, level topline, well bent stifles; 2 Melbourne’s Melriding Confederate Bobi. Pretty B/T, excellent front assembly, good length of ribbing, low to ground, well rounded quarters, moved true fore and aft, close up to 1; 3 Rowell’s Sh CM Emmajest Starlight JW.

LB (14). 1 Herrington’s Kathington Chantelle JW. Attractive B/T liked her overall balance, lovely head and eye, low to ground, good fore-chest and ribbing, level topline, well bent stifles, moved true fore and aft, pretty bright tan markings; 2 Callow’s Garthorne Lady In Black. In a similar mould and close up to 1. Nice head and expression, low to ground, excellent sternum, keel and ribbing, tight elbows, long level topline, well angled quarters, moved with drive; 3 Doran’s Switherland Kaleidoscope.

OB (6). 1 Hunt’s Ch Carpaccio Shopaholic JW. Lovely type, pretty head and expression, excellent front assembly, well laid shoulders, tight elbows, ribs carried back, level topline, sound quarters, excellent side gait, true fore and aft. Preferred her head and front assembly over 2, RCC; 2 Coxon, Jeavons and McMillan’s Am and Can Ch Grandgables Tickle My Fancy (Imp). This b is a showgirl and has a lovely outline when stacked. Her head and ear placement are not to my liking, excellent pro-sternum and length of back and ribbing, good depth of body, I though her shoulder placement slightly steep. Well bent stifles, stood true, attractive colour; 3 Blackburn-Bennett’s Shardagang Pavlova.
