MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
There were some lovely dogs in this entry. It must be so hard to combine size with substance but these prove it can be done.
Vet D 1 Hartley’s Ir Ch Lyrosh Don Perinon. JW. Red with a good forehand, bone and feet. Lovely head and dark eye. Excellent for 8 years old, including teeth. Moved soundly. Best Veteran.
PD 1 Hunt’s Deercroft Discoverer with Carpaccio. B/Tan of chunky, low to ground build, good bone and substance. Level topline, good ribbing and underline, very good front but rather erratic behind. 2 Blackburn-Bennett’s Shardagang San Sebastion. Red of finer build but very pleasing and elegant proportions. Good shoulder construction, preferred his head and eye to the winner, just lost a little in substance. 3 Shone’s Phils Maxmillion Star.
JD 1 Doran’s Dorandaq Ditchfield. B/Tan and a good sound dog who performed well in all departments. Head ok, good neck and topline and a very good forechest. Liked his nicely turned hindquarters and good bone, thick padded feet. Moved well, especially behind. Res CC. 2 Mead’s Minimead Maximus. Lovely red of lengthy, well boned type with a pleasing masculine head and dark eye. Excellent ribbing into underline, well turned quarters and short hocks. Close decision but I preferred the front of the winner. 3 Melbourne’s Melriding Jerome.
PGD 1 Widdop’s Jondac Justin. B/tan, sound and pleasing all round. Good bone and feet, prominent forechest and a level topline. Nice outline standing, lost a bit on the move. 2 Hully’s Maximites Montgomery. B/tan, liked his neck which flowed into a level topline. Well constructed forehand, a little rangier than the winner. Preferred the head and hind stride of the winner.
LD Very nice class. 1 Newbury and Morris’ Morris Man of Dalegarth. B/tan, sound and excellent from every angle and filled my eye completely. Correct shoulder construction with good follow through of ribbing, very good turn of hindquarters. Just the right amount of bone plus good feet. Moved so well and looked so balanced in side gait. Loved his super head and eye with an alert expression. One of the few free standing loose lead exhibits who didn’t need to be prodded into position. CC and a close decision for BOB. 2 Herrington’s Kathington Chance N Counter. Red with a lovely head, eye and earset, particularly impressed me with his excellent side gait with super hind drive on good, well boned legs and feet. Completely differeny type to the winner but very eyecatching. Orton’s Scalamor Solomon’s Seal.
OD 1 Callow’s Ch Garthorne Greer. B/tan, well proportioned and low to ground with level top and nice flow of underline. Good ribbing, bone and feet. Nice hind angulation, short hocks. 2 Melbourne’s Melriding Post Hac Meloria. B/tan, lovely head, neck and front, which was more prominent than the winner. Good legs and feet but a shade less bone. Super topline and ribbing and a quality outline. 3 Barber’s Melriding Meruisti.
Vet B 1 Luke’s Lyrosh Contessa Lucia. Red with a lovely feminine head and dark eye. Lovely neck and flow to level topline. Nice turn of stifle.
PB 1 Barber’s Simply Red Ruby of Rivergate. 10 months red of most promising make and shaoe, from her lovely head, eye and earset to her super neck, top and underline. Enough bone, good feet and long ribbing, correct forehand, sound fore and aft. Very feminine, looked a picture in stance and kept the same outline moving, which many did not. Best Puppy. 2 Sharkey’s Hyshope Black Crystal. B/tan and another with a super forehand and good ribbing. Lovely level topline, nice shape and movement. Neat hind angulation with a decent second thigh. 3 Worswick’s Dolyharp Minuet.
JB 1 Melbourne’s Melriding Hortense Louise. B/tan, free striding gait and keeping a lovely outline with well turned stifle and short hocks. Very good shoulder and upperarm, long ribbing. Most promising. 2 Lewis’ Merehill Kinky Boots at Bardachs. B/tan in a larger mould than the winner but very feminine and elegant with good bone and feet. Good hind angulation but preferred the front of the winner. Reed’s Deercroft Devotion.
PGB 1 MacDonald’s Bensarka After Midnight. B/tan, smaller type with very neat front conformation. Tight elbows, strode out well keeping a good outline. with a level topline, good bone and feet for size. 2 Sharkey’s Minimead Miss Starlight at Hyshope. B/tan, preferred her head proportions. Very good neat forehand resulting in very good front movement. Very nice make and shape and a close decision. 3 Jones’ Radclyffe Monticola.
LB 1 Herrington’s Kathington Chantelle JW. B/tan, pleasing elegant and very feminine with a good reach of neck flowing into a level topline. Moved with verve and some style, liked her body shape and underline, nice turn of stifle, short hocks and a balanced side gait. 2 Mead’s Minimead Maid Specially. B/tan and another who moved with alacrity. Lovely head and neck, correct shoulder angles although a shade heavy in front on the stack. Preferred the hind stride of the winner. 3 Newbury and Morris’ Destiny of Dalegarth.
OB 1 Ergis’ Ch Bronia Stunning Sophia for Siouxline JW Sh CM. Red I have always admired, starting with her lovely head, dark eye and correct earset. Super neck and good, long ribbing providing a level top and flow of underline and follow through. Excellent body proportions, looks well named in side gait, beautifully constructed both ends, textbook shoulder and upperarm, hindthrust and drive is eyecatching and to be envied. CC, BOB and G3. 2 Callow’s Garthorne Leonie. Another red I have admired, with a lovely head, eye, neck and topline. Was level and moved with good extension, but not with quite the rear drive of the winner. A lovely exhibit all round. Res CC. 3 Melbourne’s Melriding Slack Alice.
