MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
Thank you to the exhibitors for their entry. Unfortunately the weather deteriorated and judging had to take place in the wet weather ring, where the grass was rather long making it difficult to assess underlines and movement in some. That said, my main winners coped admirably well and were undeterred by this.
PD (5). 1 Coxon’s D’Arisca Elnsid Eltist. 10 mnth shaded red of good length, excels in neck and shoulders, which flow into level topline, prominent sternum and good length of rib, good turn of stifle giving plenty of drive when he moved around the ring. BD; 2 Hunt’s Deercroft With Carpaccio. Compactly made with firm well sprung ribs, oval chest and well rounded rear, not the maturity of winner. Pleasing head with good length of muzzle and skull, dark eyes. Although just a youngster, covered the ground well on the move. RBD; 3 Melbourne’s Melriding Jerome.
JD (1). 1 Bourhill’s Radclyffe Panuras. Shaded red, conical shaped head with good length to muzzle and skull, dark eyes and pigmentation. Firm well sprung body and well angulated rear, just lost topline a little on the day.
PB (3). 1 Melbourne’s Melriding Hortense Louise. Promising p, mature in body and head. Firm body with oval chest, well sprung rib of good length, well rounded rear quarters. Conical shaped head, with good length of skull to muzzle ratio, tapering to full nostrils. Quality dense coat, richly marked black and tan which cannot be overlooked. BP; 2 Coxon’s D’Arisca Golden Delicious. I see she is a half sister to PD winner, and is v similar in outline, with elegant reach of neck and laid back shoulders, level topline, prominent forechest, not the maturity of winner; 3 McCaulay’s Elnside Little Boo.
JB (2). 1 Gorman’s Gordax Black Velvet. Well bodied with good bone, pleasing head of good length, slightly arched skull, gently tapering to muzzle. Broad rounded ears, set well back and high. Firm body of good length, ample forechest and level topline; 2 Rodger’s Jentiki Sweet Hazel At Sharbul.
OB (4). 1 Coxon’s Jeavons and McMillan Ch/US/Can Grandgables Tickle My Fancy. Heading a strong class of quality b’s this outstanding b excels in profile both standing and on the move. Long slightly arched neck set into well laid back shoulders and level topline. Prominent breastbone, with deep oval chest, ribbed well back. Well angulated to front and rear quarters to give desired reach and drive on the move. I was pleased to be given the opportunity to handle this b and award her BB and BOB and later see her take BIG; 2 Hunt’s Ch Carpaccio Shopaholic JW. Another lovely b, loved her strong muscular body, good neck, oval chest with plenty of depth, good spring of rib and well rounded rear quarters. Quality balanced head with dark eye and good ear set. Well coated in excellent condition, RBB; 3 Rowell’s Emmajesk Starlight JW ShCM.
