MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED I can only confirm what other judges have said before, that front movement, coming towards you, is not satisfactory on far too many exhibits. It is going to take a great deal of time and effort to breed this out. A number were narrow in front, and you could barely get a finger between the forelegs. Temperament was, without exception, superb.
PD (5) 1 Coxon’s D’Arisca Elmside Elitist. Red. A real little cracker. Super outline, good forechest and shoulder, excellent ribbing. Firm, well angulated hindquarters, very firm topline kept on the move. BP. 2 Dunn’s Barratini Luke Lively at Ashridge. Another red, similar to 1. Good front, well ribbed body, short loin. A sound mover, very nice type. 3 Hunt’s Deercroft Discoverer with Carpaccio
JD (3-1) 1 Ergis’s Siouxline Thomas. B/T. Very showy youngster, so good to go over. Very good ribbing, tight elbows, and well angulated hindquarters. Long neck and proud head carriage. He moves with great drive and speed. I think the handler should slow him down a bit, if it is possible! Res.C.C. 2 Jones’ Detravis Mr.Confidence at Indizak. B/T. Pleasing head and eye. Good body. Giving his young handler problems.
PGD (6-3) 1 Siouxline Thomas. 2 Hully’s Maximites Montgomery. B/T. A very sound dog. Good shoulders and ribbing. Good head, firm topline and moved true both coming and going. 3 Orton’s Scalamor Solomons Seal.
LD (2-1) 1 Endersley’s Mowbray Music Man. Red. Good head and eye. Nice spring of rib, firm hindquarter, moved soundly.
OD (6-1) 1 Callow’s Ch.Garthorne Man in Black. B/T. A very well balanced dog, excellent head and eye. Long neck, the best of bodies. Good spring of rib, short loin, firm topline and good rear end. C.C. 2 Coxon’s D‚Arisca Inkel Impresario. B/T. A very nice type, of excellent construction, I liked him a lot. Unfortunately, he was not behaving very well for his handler. 3 Barber’s Melriding Meruisti.
PB (17-4) What a super class. 1 Mead’s Minimead Maid in Manhattan. B/T. Very promising, liked her a lot. She gave a very good outline, and did not disappoint on going over. Very good front with correct width between forelegs. Very good ribbing and sound hindquarters, Moved well. 2 Barber’s Simply Red Ruby of Rivergate. Red. Another very nice pup. Good head, good length of neck, nice front assembly and good length of keel. Well sprung ribs, and firm topline. Just needs to strengthen in rear action. 3 Bursey’s Willowheath Bliss with Hartlake.
JB (10-2) 1 Fraser’s Baby Button Donlaynes. B/T. Well balanced, good width front, good shoulders, good ribbing, firm topline, moved very soundly. 2 Mead’s Minimead Maid Specially. B/T. A difficult decision between these two. It was splitting hairs, but I just thought that No.1 had that little more width in front. Moved well. 3 Spencer’s Curtisey Classic Design for Bannonbrig.
PGB (6) 1 Macdonald’s Bensarka After Midnight. B/T. This is a lovely bitch who can go to the top. She was seriously considered in the challenge. So very sound. Excellent front, good head and neck, well placed shoulders. Long keel, very good ribbing, firm topline, good hindquarters. In very good condition and moved very soundly coming and going. Well handled. 2 Shuker’s Yewlitt Sadie. Red. Good head, good forechest and well placed shoulders. Good keel, short loin, firm topline which she kept on the move. Sound coming and going. 3) Paterson’s Yasmin Fire Babe.
LB (7-3) 1 Dakin’s Barratina Magic Moment. Red. Gave a very good outline. Good head and neck, excellent front assembly with good ribs and plenty of keel. Strong hindquarters, moved out well. 2 Mitchell’s Bronia Lucidissima. B/T. A quality bitch, in super condition, so good to go over. Correct width in front, well ribbed body and sound hindquarters. She did not have the neck or front extension of No.1.on the move. Very well handled. 3 Worswick’s Willowheath Trendie Music to Dolyharp.
OB (6) 1 Coxon’s D’Arisca Art and Design. B/T. What a lovely bitch, your hands just flow over her. Super front with plenty of width. Good shoulders, nice tight elbows. Keel and ribbing could not be better. Well angulated and firm hindquarters. Moves very soundly both coming and going. C.C. ,her second, and B.O.B. 2 Hunt’s Ch.Carpaccio Shopaholic. B/T. Plenty of forechest on this girl, and super shoulders and ribbing. It is obvious why she has won so many tickets. She moved out soundly. Res.C.C. 3 Callow’s Garthorne Leonie.
