MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
I was delighted to be asked to judge at the Miniature Club and thoroughly enjoyed my day. On the whole the quality of the exhibits were good. I was impressed with the reach of neck on many of the exhibits (we could do with more neck on quite a lot of the Standard Longs), but in general hindquarters need improvement. Quite a few were sickle hocked and had no drive or extension behind. V (8) 1 MacDonald’s, Bonavoir Karlla Channa. Dog. Pleasant head and reach of neck. Nicely made front. Well bodied up. Strong quarters which he used well on the move. 2 Hartley’s, Ir Ch. Lyrosh Don Perinon JW. Attractive dog with good outline. Nice head and neck. Good ribbing and hindquarters. Moved out well. 3 Endersby’s, Manakoora Lou-Hie-Hie at Mowbray. SpO (6) 1 McDonald’s, Bensarka After Midnight. B/t bitch with lovely overall shape. Good head and long reach of neck which flowed into a level topline and well developed quarters. Correct front and good depth of keel. On the move covered the ground really well. 2 Reed’, Deercroft Miss Dynamite. Bitch with good overall shape. Pleasant head and good reach of neck. Nice feet. Not quite as well developed as winner, but moved out well. 3 Orton’s, Scalamor Ladys Slipper. Bitch. MPD (4) 1 Melbourne’s, Melriding Due Lafayette. B/t. Super overall shape with good underline and pleasing to go over. Excellent pro sternum, good ribbing. Well angulated quarters which he used to advantage. Very promising. 2 Shutt’s, Black Passion of Donnadoon. Attractive head with good reach of neck. Nice front and good shoulder placement. Well developed quarters. A little unbalanced on the move, due to change of handler. Another promising puppy. 3 Jones’s, Monty’s Glorious Moment. PD (4) 1 Ergis’s, Siouxline Isacc. Beautiful balanced b/t puppy. Correct head with good reach of neck. Well developed front with correct shoulder placement. Ribbing well back. Good angulated quarters which he used well on the move. Stacked, stood absolutely square. 2 Parish’s, Garlandelms First Edition. Similar type to winner, but not so well developed. Nice head and reach of neck. Not the underline of winner. Quite nice hindquarters. Moved out well, but not handled to the best advantage. 3 Jones’s, Monty’s, Glorious Moment. JD (7) 1 Ergis’s, Slouxline Indigo. BPD B/t with good head and super reach of neck. Well laid back shoulder and good pro sternum. Lovely underline and correctly angulated quarters which he used well. On the move, just preferred his movement to his brother, but could change places on another day. 2 Blackburn-Bennett’s, Shardagang San Sebastion. Attractive red dog. Just preferred head and neck of winner. Good front and shoulder placement. Nice underline. Well bodied up with strong quarters. Nicely balanced on the move. 3 Shelton’s, Donnadoon Imagination at Barisse. PGD (2) 1 Watkinson’s, Manakoora Hanapepe Valley. Pleasant head and topline. Nicely constructed front and depth of keel. Quite nice quarters but not used to advantage on the move. 2 Williams’, Belazieth Red Robin. Fair reach of neck. Would like ribbing further back. A little straight in stifle, but moved out well. LD (7) 1 Ergis’s, Siouxline Thomas JW Sh CM. CC and RBOB. B.t. Another stunning elegant dog from this kennel. Excellent head and reach of neck which flowed into level topline. Correctly angulated shoulders and good pro sternum. Good underline. Excellent turn of stifle and strong quarters. Really covered the ground with his lovely free and effortless movement. 2 Dunns’, Barratini Luke Lively at Ashridge. Lovely shaded red dog which pushed winner hard. Just felt he didn’t have the reach of neck of winner. Well made front assembly with correct shoulders and nice underline. Nicely balanced and used his well angulated quarters positively on the move. Two lovely dogs. 3 Orton’s, Scalamor Solomons Seal. OD (6) 1 Coxon’s, Ch D’arisca Inkel Impressrio. RCC. B.t with pleasing head and good reach of neck. Prominent forechest and ribbing went well back. Nice feet. Good level topline flowing into excellent quarters which he used to advantage on the move. 2 Newbury and Morris’s, Morris Man of Dalegarth. Lovely type with pleasant head. Well made and proportioned body. Nicely angulated rear end. Not quite the drive of winner on the move. 3. Herrington’s, Kathington Chance n Counter. MPB (8) 1 Coxon’s, D’arisca from Dawn Till Duck. B/t. Beautifully balanced for one so young. Attractive head and good reach of neck. Good feet. Well angulated quarters. Low to ground. Moved out well. Should have a bright future. 2 Williams’s, Amanjidax Dimond Lady. B/t. Similar type to winner but not quite the shoulder placement or ribbing. Still a real baby which showed on the move. Needs time. 3 Lerwell’s, Meads Mininmead Miss Vanity at Jenanste. PB (11) 1 Salisbury’s, Brocklewood Babycham. BBP and BP. Shaded red bitch with a beautiful balanced topline. A joy to go over. Lovely made front with good depth of keel. Excellent ribbing. Nice underline and well developed quarters which she used to advantage on the move. A bright future ahead for this young lady. 2 Mead’s, Minimead Miss Behaving. Shaded red bitch similar to type of winner. Pleasant head with good reach of neck. Well made front. Good ribbing. Hindquarters not as well developed as winner but moved out well. Has time on her side. 3 Yeoman’s, Klynerbyner Thea May. JB (10) 1 Coxon’s, D’arisca Golden Delicious. Shaded red bitch with lovely outline. Good reach of neck. Correct front and shoulder placement. Liked her underline and well angulated quarters. Covered the ground well on the move. 2 Reed’s, Deercroft Devotion. Shaded red. Another quality youngster. Front just needs to develop a little more. Feet were a little soft, but she has time on her side. 3 Barber’s, Simply Red Ruby off Rivergate. PGB (9) 1 Hartiey’s, Lyrosh Ebony Lady JW Sh CM. RCC. B/t. Well made young lady. Loved her overall outline. Correct front and excellent shoulder placement. Good underline, well angulated and developed quarters which she used well on the move. Loved her elegance. Pushed hard for the CC. 2 Yoeman’s, Klynerbyner Prim and Proper. Well made chocolate bitch, similar type to winner with good reach of neck and well laid shoulders. Good underline.
