MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
I was so pleased to judge the Mini
Smooth Dachshunds at this lovely show. Most of the exhibits were of the highest
quality and are a credit to their breeders and owners, and made me proud to
judge them. It made some of my decisions very difficult at times and I expect
many of these exhibits will change places on different days with different
judges.
PD. (4). 1. Callow's, Garthorne Top Gear. B/t. Smart mature puppy.
Correctly constructed all through. Moved out stylishly for his age. Lovely head
and front assembly. Super outline as he drove around. He really impressed me and
was pleased to award him BP and RCC. 2. Coxon's, D'Arisca Speed Dating. Another
well constructed baby. S/r who has everything in the right place and is one to
watch for the future, but unfortunately lost out on maturity on the day. 3.
Shuker's, Yewlitt Zavier.
JD. (5). 1. Mitchell's, Bronia Lanfranco. This s/r had all I
was looking for with good head and reach of neck. Superb shoulder placement and
excellent front and ribbing, with good bone. He drove around the ring keeping
his outline at all times and looking quality all through. CC. 2. Mortlock's,
Siouxline Magnus at Hertsmerry. B/t with nice head and neck. Correct front
assembly with good ribbing. Just not the outline of the winner on the move, nor
the hind angulation.
PGD. (8). 1. Macdonald's, Bensarka the Midas Touch. This well
constructed s/r took my eye. Neat and compact and soundly constructed with
lovely head and eye, well placed shoulders. Super ribbing and excellent outline
on the move. Plenty of substance. 2. Blackburn-Bennett's, Shardagang San
Sebastian. S/r. Same comments apply as to winner, but although so well
constructed, preferred the head and bone of winner, but lovely ribbing and good
movement. 3. Shuker's, Yewlitt Xerox.
LD. (5). 1. Ashwell's, Siouxline Isaac JW Sh CM. Smart moving b/t with
well constructed front and back end which gave a good outline as he moved
correctly. I would love to see him with more weight, as I am sure he would then
trouble the best, but lovely exhibit in excellent condition. 2. Melbourne's,
Melriding de Lafayette. B/t the type I love with super front assembly and
excellent ribbing. Compact, drove around, but unfortunately a little too happy
with his tail on the day. 3. Richardson's, Dolyharp Madrigal at Belazieth.
OD. (4). 1. Melbourne's, Melriding Post Hac Meliora. Another b/t from
this kennel. Lovely type with nice front and ribbing. Good quarters and hind
angulation. Moved really well keeping excellent outline. 2. Ergis's, Siouxline
Indigo JW Sh CM. Quality b/t, all the essentials in the right place. Just didn't
move as freely as h should on the day. Considering his excellent construction.
3. Shelton's, Ch. Donnadoon Imagination at Barisse. JW Sh CM.
V. (1). 1. Mitchell's, Ch. Switherland Lucia at Bronia. S/r one of the
best veterans I have seen for 11 years of age. In top condition with the best of
fronts and ribbing, and with good angulation on the shoulders and hocks. She
showed us how to drive around the ring and was a pleasure to watch.
PB. (6). 1. Hunt's, Carpaccio oval Parade. B/t. Stood out in this class
as a mature quality exhibit. Excellent head and well placed shoulders. Super
ribbing and good outline on the move. Difficult close decision for BP but I
chose the dog as he just moved more freely as they went around, but could easily
change places in the future. 2. Coxon's, D'Arisca Come Dancing. S/r. Another
quality soundly built puppy who moved so well demonstrating her correct
construction as she went. Just lost out to winner on maturity on the day, but
one for the future I'm sure. 3. Mead's, Minimead Miz Lucy Lou.
JB. (13). 1. Burton's, Swingletrees Heaven Leigh. Red. Nice
bitch, very compact and had a lovely head, front and shoulder placement, also
spring of rib. She has a good outline and was correct coming and going. 2.
Ergis's, Siouxline Evangelina. B/t. Sound construction with excellent front and
ribbing who moved well. Just preferred the overall outline of winner. 3.
Richardson's, Belazieth Magic Pearl.
PGB. (10). 1. Williams and Rose's, Tuthe Tempest. S/r. Stood out in the
class with correct movement and lovely outline. Good head and reach of neck.
Correct angulation at both ends. Definitely one to watch for the future. 2.
Salisbury's, Brocklewood Babycham JW. S/r. Similar to winner. Lovely quality
exhibit but just preferred the outline of winner on the move. Super front and
ribbing and good angulation. 3. Pritchard's, Hannamouse Bronte.
LB. (11). 1. Blackburn-Bennett's, Shardagang Illusion. This s/r bitch
took my eye. Another so sound and correct all through. Moved truly both ways
driving well and keeping her outline. Good head, correctly angulated and good
bone. I loved her. RCC. 2. Melbourne's, Melriding Hortense Louise. B/t. Sound as
a pound. Good head and reach of neck. Super ribbing. Lovely quarters and back
action. Drove around the ring. Top quality bitch. 3. Reed's, Deercroft Devotion
JW.
OB. (5). 1. Coxon's, Ch. D'arisca Golden Delicious. Super s/r who drove
around the ring so stylishly and with such ease that I was pleased to award her
the CC and BOB. Lovely head and carriage. Well placed shoulders. Excellent
ribbing and sound well angulated quarters. What more could I look for? I loved
her. 2. Callow's, Garthorne Leonie. S/red top quality bitch. Lovely front and
good ribbing. Correct angulation. Moved well. Not quite the outline of winner on
the day. 3. Hunt's, Ch. Carpaccio Shopaholic JW.
