MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED

Thanks to everyone for a super entry. I was surprised to find so many untypical broad heads with very short ears usually accompanied by rather large round eyes, several dogs wavered or actually tipped the scales (by how much I do not know as they were not digital), but none were thin or underweight so I took this into account when placing. Temperaments were pretty good.

MPD (5) 1 Reed’s Deercroft Double Dare, super b/t, balanced profile movement keeping a good outline at all times, pleasing head, good bone and feet, no wrinkle. BPD. 2 Mitchell’s Bronia Calvino, brindle, very good forehand and front movement, head, neck and topline OK. In profile his rather deep chest detracted from his underline. Well ribbed back, nice turn of stifle in stance. Slightly close going away. 3 Williams’ Cwmdarhian Walk The Line.

PD (4,3a) 1 Settle’s Siouxline Christopher Robin, s/r, pleasing head, lengthy, sound fore and aft, kept a good outline, nice type.

JD (8,2) 1 Shelton’s Barisse High Endeavour, s/r, very good shoulder and upper arm, prominent forechest so lacking in some, nice head and eye, excellent topline, good scope of stride, very well balanced all round. 2 Ashwell-Carter’s Minimead Mr Noitall at Siouxline, b/t of robust proportions, good length of upper arm and second thigh. Was overweight but I preferred his excellent bone and substance. Pleasing head, neck and topline, moved with verve. 3 Kent’s Barratini Jeeves at Lokmadi.

SpBD (2,1) 1 Caligari Storm Prince, b/t, chunky and masculine, good bone, slight wrinkle, correct shoulder angles but moved a bit wide in front. Very good behind, lovely proportions, kept a good outline.

PGD (7,1) 1 Blackburn’s Shelsall Jettison at Stargang, b/t, just out of puppy and very promising, pleasant head, nice neck, ribbing and follow through, slightly wide in front, nice turn of second thigh to hock, plenty of scope on the move. 2 Sim’s Little Wizard of Kelmbeck, b/t who looked good in stance but rose up a little on the move. Pleasing chunky type, more forechest than 1, obviously more mature, nice head, decent ear length. 3 Hartley’s Minimead Malachi at Lyrosh.

LD (13,5) 1 Roberts’ Denver Midnight Sun, s/r of great elegance, lovely head, neck and earset, decent forechest, lengthy level topline, good underline, well ribbed back, nice second thigh, good all round proportions, super balanced movement. RCC. 2 MacDonald’s Bensarka The Midas Touch, s/r in a smaller mould, loved his head and neck. Shoulders OK but he presses forward in stance making an almost horizontal upper arm but still had very good reach on move. Good body substance. 3 Yeoman’s Klynerbyner Vim And Vigour.

OD (8,1) 1 Ashwell’s Siouxline Isaac, b/t, lovely head, eyes and earset, very good forehand, decent forechest which was still visible on the move (so many lost this when moving), well ribbed back, balanced hind end, well turned second thigh, liked his extra bone and substance which counteracted his slightly taller build, moved with alacrity, super temperament. CC, his 3rd. 2 Ergis’ Ch Siouxline Indigo, b/t, litter brother, also good head, forehand and forechest, moved with fleeting gait, better feet than 1, sound all round. Just preferred the loin area and 2nd thigh of 1 and his extra substance. 3 Callow’s Garthorne Top Gear.

VB (2,1) 1 Callow’s Garthorne Lady In Black, nice b/t, just on 7 years, level topline, lovely well ribbed underline, good bone and substance, nice shoulder and upper arm but slightly less prosternum to balance, sound fore and aft, pleasant feminine head and eye. BV.

MPB (7,2) 1 Worswick’s Kireton Alma of Dolyharp, 6 months b/t, well covered, nice compact proportions, liked her head, neck, bone and well balanced profile movement. 2 Coxon’s D’Arisca Dark And Delicious, 7 months b/t, moved out well with a bit more scope than 1 but I preferred the head and overall shape of 1. Shapely hind end, nice turn of stifle. 3 Kerry’s Kireton Agnes.

PB (11,4) 1 Ergis’ Siouxline Cinderella, 11 months clear red, sired by the DCC, lovely head and eye, topline, ribbing and underline all excellent, well covered, super coat, such a stylish mover (just like her dam), enough bone, tight feet, most promise. BP, PG3. 2 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Lotus Elite, strikingly marked brindle, very mature make and shape, quality throughout, excellent conformation, super topline, ribbing and underline, lovely quarters, I liked her a lot but preferred the head of 1. 3 Shutt’s Touch The Dream for Donnadoon.

JB (15,5) 1 Daykin’s Barratini Jilly Cooper, b/t, stood out in this good class, starting with her most pleasing head and dark eyes, decent length ears, shoulder and forehand, excellent, correct upper arm and prominent forechest, ribbing of the best, lovely underline plus nice hindquarters and 2nd thigh, moved well from all angles, striking outline in stance. CC and BOB, shortlisted in group. 2 Mendes’ Scharmein Inka, s/r of pleasing proportions, good bone and feet, slight wrinkle, lovely turn of hindquarters, pleasing head, moved well. 3 Williams’ Celtichills Hot Chocolate at Cwmarhian.

SpBB (5,3) 1 MacDonald’s Bensarka After Midnight, well formed b/t, good ribbing, pleasing head, neck and topline, moved with alacrity. 2 Parish and Garlandelm’s Amazing Grace, b/t of similar type to 1, better coming towards than 1 but I preferred the head of 1. Two nice bitches.

PGB (12,3) 1 Melbourne’s Melriding Creole Lady, b/t, lovely elegant head, neck and outline, typical of this exhibitor, super shoulder and forehand, well ribbed, excellent quarters. Needs confidence to make the best of herself. 2 Daykin’s Barratini Danneka, s/r, hard choice, loved her on the move, everything in order. Just preferred the head and bone of 1, balanced fluid movement. 3 Hartley’s Bronia Dancing Mandy at Lyrosh.

LB (17,6) This was a super if difficult class. 1 Salisbury’s Brocklewood Babycham, s/r, I have always liked for her good all round make and shape, nice head, eye and earset, neck into level topline, shoulder and forechest correct, well ribbed back, sound and pleasing all round. 2 Ergis’ Siouxline Evangelina, b/t, by the DCC, lovely forehand and ribbing, good bone and feet. Shorter in 2nd thigh than 1 and I preferred head of 1. 3 Seath’s Sunsong Sea Mist.

OB (12,1) Lovely class. 1 Barber’s Ch Simply Red Ruby of Rivergate, clear red I’ve already liked, gave her BP last time and she has done well, lovely head and eye, elegant neck and topline, correct forehand, nice turn of stifle, well ribbed, compact sturdy body, moved with verve. RCC. 2 Melbourne and Holdsworth’s Can Ch Grandgables Ms Chatanooga to Melriding, b/t in a small very elegant mould, correct forehand, nice hind end although tended to crouch a bit. Good legs and feet, no wrinkle, lovely head and neck. 3 Hunt’s Ch Carpaccio Royal Parade.

Breeders 1 Ergis’ Siouxline well turned out, super size and type, four lovely minis for type and size, excellent condition, quality throughout. 2 Williams’ Cwmdarhian, lovely group all sired by Siouxline, lovely size, nice outlines in profile, moved out well.
