Crufts 2011 - Miniature Smooth Haired

Many thanks for the excellent entry. I am just sorry that I was under so much pressure to hurry from the beginning. Hopefully, Min Smooths will have their own ring in the future.

VD(5) 1 Melbourne's Ch Melriding Post Hac Meliora. Well known champion dog on top form, good head and eye, good shoulder and ribbing, good quarters, moved soundly with enthusiasm. 2 Barber's Ch Melriding Meruisti. Another nice male in great condition, just preferred length of upper arm on the first, but otherwise very similar in construction and smart on the move. 3 Luke's Corrieknowe Circassian. Long head, good front construction and long ribbing, fair quarters, would just prefer a little more drive in rear. Again in lovely condition.

Sp PD(9, 1) 1 Hunt's Carpaccio Captain Scarlet. Shaded red boy with much to like about him, lovely head and eye, would prefer a little longer ear, excellent neck and lay of shoulder, good bone, good ribbing, excellent quarters, moved soundly. Res CC and BP. 2 Andison &Peel's Clentry Black Pudding. Slightly heavier type. Again very well constructed with excellent bone and feet, good shoulders, long ribbing, well angulated hindquarters, good top and underline, kept his outline on the move. 3 Thomas &Bradley's Dragoncourt Jack Flash. Very elegant red boy, slightly taller type, well constructed fore and aft, topline needs to settle but very promising.

Sp JD(4, 1) 1 Williams' Cwmdarhian Benjamin Button. Very smart black/tan boy, nice head and eye, shoulder could have better layback, excellent bone and ribbing, well angulated quarters, moved true fore and aft. 2 Phillips' Jentiki Red Chilli Pepper. Lovely head and eye, excellent neck, good lay of shoulder, well muscled rear, topline and underline good, moved well in profile, just a little narrow coming towards me. 3 Burton's Swingletrees Just-In-Time. Very smart little dog who seemed to be rather overawed by the noise today.

YD(6) 1 Williams &Jones' Cwmdarhian Billy The Kid. Nice red dog, lovely head and eye, good neck and shoulders, excellent bone but would have liked longer ribbing, good length of first and second thigh, short hocks, moved with very good extension. 2 Yeoman's Klynerbyner True To Form. Well constructed black/tan boy, lovely head and eye, good shoulders, prominent forechest, good ribbing, good quarters, didn't make the best of himself on the move today. 3 Shutt's Pachego Explora For Donnadoon. Attractive, well constructed red dog who was, unfortunately unhappy with the noise today, lovely head and eye and overall construction.

PGD (12, 2) 1 Muggleton's Mosiarto Mister Big. Very well balanced red dog, nice head and eye, good neck running into well laid shoulders, excellent bone, good top and underline, absolutely sound in movement. 2 Gunning's Jenkerbell Merlot. Dark shaded red of good overall construction, lovely head though ears too short, excellent in profile, correct hind angulation, sound on the move. 3 Settle's Siouxline Cristopher Robin. Red dog, good head, neck and shoulders, fair ribbing, would like more upper arm, moves well with good outline.

LD(15) Very good class of up-and-coming dogs. 1 Salisbury's Willowheath Just William At Brocklewood JW. Red dog I have admired, lovely head and eye, long neck running into a well laid back shoulder, good pro-sternum, excellent ribbing, moved well driving out from his well angulated quarters. 2 Burton's Swingletrees Ready-Teddy-Go. Clear red boy, lovely head, neck, shoulders, pro-sternum good, ribs could be a touch longer, correctly angulated quarters with good length of first and second thigh, stacked could roach a little but on the move topline good with correct extension fore and aft. 3 Metcalfe-Bilgin's Metadale Super Sid. Another good one, unlucky to meet the above pair.

OD(11, 1) 1 Roberts' Ch Denver Midnight Sun. Shaded red dog in really top form, carrying just the right amount of weight, lovely head, correct eye, good neck into correctly placed well angulated shoulder, excellent forechest, ribs carried well back, correctly angulated quarters, sound on the move. Well deserved the CC. 2 Callow's Ch Garthorne Top Gear JW. Another very well constructed dog of excellent proportions, lovely head, good neck and shoulders, good ribbing, good quarters, moved well in profile with correct extension. 3 Herrington's Kathington Coeur De Lion. Lovely head, good shoulders, well constructed hindquarters, good bone, good forechest, would like slightly longer ribs, sound in movement.

Good Citizen D (1) 1 Ashwell-Carter's Ch Siouxline Isaac JW ShCM. Worthy champion with good overall type and construction, in good hard condition and absolutely sound on the move.

VB(2) 1 Callow's Garthorne Lady In Black. Black/tan bitch, good head, neck and shoulders, excellent bone, long ribbing, fair quarters, moved very well enjoying the day. 2 Mayger's Woolsocks Black Satin. Well balanced black/tan girl with good overall construction, good head and eye, good shoulders, ribbing and quarters, sound.

Sp PB(10, 1) 1 Hunt's Cwmdahrian Carry On Cleo At Carpaccio. Smart bitch with a good head and eye, good neck and shoulders, good ribbing, fair quarters, could extend a little more in profile. Won this class on maturity. 2 Herrington's Rouge Royale For Kathington. Nice head and eye, good neck, well placed shoulders, good ribbing, fair hindquarters, kept a good outline on the move. 3 Metcalfe-Bilgin's Metadale Luscious Lil. Elegant bitch, lovely head and eye, long neck, good shoulders and hindquarters, rather long at the moment and immature.

Sp JB(12, 2) Very nice class of quality youngsters. 1 Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Serenity. Very attractive red bitch with a nice head, long neck, good layback in shoulder, excellent ribbing and quarters, good topline and underline, moved with excellent reach and drive. 2 Callow's Garthorne Miss Dynamite. Black/tan of different type from above, beautifully balanced in construction with very good shoulders, prominent forechest, good bone and ribs, carried well back, good quarters, again kept a good outline on the move, just preferred head on my winner. 3 Williams' Cwmdarhian Touch Of Class. Would have preferred a longer head, good neck and shoulders, ribbing could be longer, well balanced quarters, sound, free mover.

YB(12) 1 Ergis' Siouxline April Folly JW. Very similar in construction to my previous class winner. Elegant red with a good head and eye, long neck, slightly steep upper arm, good ribbing, well constructed quarters, sound, free mover. 2 Bate's Pachego Blossoms For Batendach Jun Ch. Black/tan of very good overall construction, lovely head and eye, good forechest, good top and underline, excellent quarters, moved well with correct reach and drive. 3 Kent's Toniajavae Indian Passion At Lokmadi. Nicely constructed black/tan, good head, dark eye, good neck and shoulders, would prefer a little more second thigh to complete the picture, moved soundly.

PGB(19, 3) 1 Muggleton's Mosiarto Beautiful Belle JW. Very neat bitch of good construction, nice head, good eye shape, good neck and shoulders, prominent forechest, good length of ribbing, well constructed, balanced quarters, moved very soundly with correct reach and drive and keeping her nice outline. 2 Daykin's Barratini Scarlett Ribbon. Elegant red bitch with a good head, long neck, excellent shoulders, good forechest, ribs could be longer, fair quarters, kept a nice outline on the move, true fore and aft. 3 Williams' Cwmdarhian Mizz Lucy You.

LB(13, 1) 1 Kerry's Kireton Agnes. Black/tan bitch, bit of a fidget who didn't make the best of herself on the stack, nice head, dark eye, good neck, good shoulder placement, needs a little more upper arm, ribbed well back, well angulated quarters, moved well. 2 Bursey's Hartlake Sweet Damson. Very nice bitch, lovely head and eye, good neck into well laid shoulders, excellent ribbing, correct length in first and second thigh, lovely extension in profile but a little untidy coming towards me. 3 McAulay's Elnside Truffles For One. Very neat little bitch of very good overall construction, head a little small in comparison to her body, which distracted, very sound on the move.

OB(13, 4) Best classs of the day with some lovely bitches unplaced. 1 Blackburn's Ch Sonderbar Billie Jean At Stargang (Imp Aus). Beautiful head, correct eye, good neck running into correctly constructed shoulders, good bone and light feet, good forechest, ribbing carried well back, balanced quarters, moved true with correct extension in profile. Pleased to award her CC and BOB. 2 Chalova's Slavyanochka Slava Iz Mishkinogo Doma. Slightly taller bitch of very similar construction to my winner, lovely head ad eye, good shoulder angulation and prominent forechest, well ribbed, good quarters, moved freely. Res CC. 3 Hunt's Ch Carpaccio Royal Parade JW. Different type from above, very well made with a lot of virtues, well angulated both ends with a lovely head, tail carriage detracted at times.

Good Citizen B (1) 1 Garrity's Holly Berry. Sweet head and eye, good shoulders, excellent condition.
