DACHSHUND - MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
An expertly run Show, that was blessed with
lovely weather, top notch Stewards, and some quality exhibits. Thank you for
your entries. General comments are all positive. A big improvement since the
last time I judged this variety. Hindquarters are much improved, as are
top-lines. Quite a variety of types and size of heads, but expression and
pigment are all top class. Compliments on the presentation to all, my hands
were clean at the finish as they were before judging, and teeth were in the main
clean and correctly placed, surprisingly, there were two monorchids.
PD (9,1) 1 Hunt's Carpaccio Captain Scarlet. Very imposing youngster,
at one with owner, a shaded red. Right angled quarters fore and aft. Well
muscled and sound. He has an intelligent head, and shows like a veteran. Best
Puppy in Breed. 2 Ergis's Siouxline Timon. A lovely black and tan. A correct
prosternum, and front, His top line is fine up to the rump, and today he had a
slight 'rise' there which rather spoiled the balance. He moved well. 3 Hollands'
Zarosa Monsieur Rouge.
JD (4) 1 Williams's Cwmdarhian Cant Touch This. Now, this is a nice
hound, could do with a bit more 'animation'. He is a black and tan, moves
beautifully, level, powerful quarters, He is sound all through. Pleasing. 2
Philips' Mimimead Montmorency. He is not thin, but is light over the loin area.
Well angled, and moved well. Good head and condition. 3 Clark's Raven Wanderer.
PGD (7,2) 1 Blackburns' Tythe Gordon Brown At Stargang. A very
attractive dark chocolate dog, Top line held standing and moving, sound with
lovely construction. The picture would be complete with a bit more "self
confidence" Quality exhibit. 2 Philips' Jentiki Red Chilli Pepper. A red in good
condition, he has a very nice body, with correct ribbing and shoulders. Again,
he needs a bit more self-assurance. I guess the blustery wind flapping the tents
did not help. 3 Hall's Taraleeces Stanley Hall.
LD (2) Salisbury's Willowheath Just William At Brocklewood JW. I was so
delighted to see this dog. He is well grown, and fit as a fiddle. Lovely head
and expression, powerful neck leading to well placed shoulders, prominent
prosternum, good body with correct top and under lines. Hind end provided thrust
and motion. I was pleased to award him the CC. BOB, and happy to see he was
awarded Group 4 in the group. Well done. 2 Bourne's Yaapeet Uriel. A black and
tan here, with lovely angles front and back. He excels in hind movement with a
powerful thrust. I would have preferred slightly more neck to complete the
picture.
OD (5,1) 1 Shelton's Barisse High Endeavour. A lovely red dog with
fabulous tight shoulders. Good head and neck moving into a smooth level body and
continuing onto strong hindquarters. He moved very well. Res CC. 2 Ashwell-Carter
& Ergis's Ch Siouxline Indigo JW ShCM. This is a quality, balanced dog, smaller
than 1st, but similar type. A worthy dog. 3 Kent's Barrantini Jeeves At Lokmadi
JW.
VD (1) Holland's Zarosa Simply Red. A 7 year old red bitch. Perfect
mouth, clean too. Bless her she enjoyed herself. A little bit loose at elbow,
but she moved well.
PB (11,2) 1 Ergis's Siouxline Aurora. My tape says "beautiful, really
cracking red bitch" Very typey, balanced, strong and level. She is very
feminine, and most promising. Moved soundly. 2 Mitchell's Bronia Fabrizia.
Shaded red, similar comments apply to this little one, and I feel they could
change places often. She moved with power and soundness. Close decision. 3
Williams's Cwmdarhian What A Carry On.
JB (8,3) 1 Hunts' Cwmdarhan Carry On Cleo At Carpaccio. A lovely Black
and tan bitch, She is balanced. Sweet head correct fore chest, excellent feet.
Her tail carriage is correct, and she moved well. 2 Ashwell-Carter's Siouxline
Pocahontas. A black and tan. Balanced bitch with a pleasing body. Enthusiastic
mover. Good bone. 3 Kent's Lokmadi Steffy Byng.
PGB (11,3) 1 Mitchell's Bronia Feliciana. I really liked this
bitch; she is typey, sound and very pretty. Compact and balanced and with good
construction. Moved well. Pressed hard in the challenge. 2 Ergis's Siouxline
Thomasina. Another lovely black and tan. A poppet. Level and sound with correct
quarters. Well angled which showed in her movement. Close decision. 3 Hughs'
Batendach Coppa Rose For Julidachs.
LB (6,1) 1 Blackburn Bennett's Stargang Serenity. A clear red feminine
bitch. Good in front and a lovely body. Well angled behind. Moved slightly wide
behind at times, but not all the time. A pleasing bitch and worthy winner of the
Res CC. 2 Punter's Jentiki Kendle Welcumen. A shaded red bitch with correct
shoulder and hind angles. Very nice head. She moved with gusto and soundness. 3
Ashwell-Carter & Ergis's Siouxline Cinderella.
OB (3,2) 1 Ergis's Ch Siouxline April Folly. A beautiful clear red
bitch of quality with wonderful shoulders, strong hind end which she used to
good effect, Her head is most attractive and her neck is elegant and her strong
front gives a lovely balanced picture. I was pleased to award her the CC. Well
done. Thank you for your sporting attitude to my decisions.
