DACHSHUND - MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED

I took great pleasure in judging this entry today. The  breed has some lovely quality animals, much improved since I last judged them.  Especially in the bitch challenge, I could happily have awarded CCs to all the  challengers, plus a number who came behind them in their class. Spoilt for  choice. Thank you so much.

PD
(4) 1 Gorman's Gordax Red Cape. Very  attractive red baby. Nine and a half mths. Liked his masculine head with a  strong jaw, lovely temperament, good length of neck, well filled front, long  ribbing giving a good underline, shoulders are correct, he has good ground  clearance without being too leggy, moved with enthusiasm, promising. 2 Waugh's  Liscia Armed & Loaded. Another nice baby. Smaller and more compact than  first, dark red, very well bodied, well sprung ribbing with correct length,  excellent head and eye, would like a shade more length of upper arm, moved very  soundly. Promising. Only 7 mths so has lots of time. 3 Leishman's Sandance  Silver Secret.

JD
(4) Good quality class. 1 Roberts' Denver Darling  Harry Potter. Another lovely animal from this kennel. Black/tan, excellent head  and eye, good length of layback of shoulder and upper arm, giving true front  movement, ribs carried well back, giving correct underline, moves with great  style. RCC. With luck should make up. 2 Kent's Lokmadi Ocean's Eleven JW. Very  sound little dog and similar remarks to winner, just preferred the hind  angulation of first, however, a quality boy. 3 Gorman's Gordax Red Cape.

PGD
(1)  1 Shutt's Donnadoon Le Mousquetaire. Black/tan, alone, but worthy of his first,  quite small but has a lovely outline, standing and moving, would prefer more  size and substance for a male, well presented.

LD
(1) 1 Melbourne's  Metadale Nikolai Of Melriding. Sh red. I admire this kennels dogs, always well  boned and presented well. This boy has a very good head and eye, excellent  construction all through, good length of upper arm and layback of shoulder,  many fail here, moved very well and soundly, nice boy.

OD
(1) 1 Coxon's  Ch D'arisca I Do Declare. Love the type from this kennel, so distinctive, very  scopy and covers the ground standing and moving, excellent angulation front and  rear and moves with great style. To top it all, his black/tan coat shone with  condition. Lovely. CC.

PB
(7, 1) 1 Roberts' Bronia Caprice To Denver.  What a little cracker. Black/tan, super front and ribbing, strong and well  developed all through, very free, stylish mover for a baby. Loved her. BP. 2  Shutt's Donnadoon Thats My Girl. Nine and a half mths baby, feminine head and expression,  decent front and ribbing, well conditioned, moved soundly. 3 Fieke's Lustrum  April Love.

JB
(10, 2) 1 Blackburn-Bennett's Lokmadi Sea Holly At  Stargang. What a little cracker. Most lovely red girl, gorgeous head, excellent  shoulders, well filled front, strong well angulated rear, a real extrovert when  moving, covering the ground with great freedom. CC and BOB. Shortlisted in the  Group. Her second CC. The third shouldn't be long coming. 2 Hunt's Cwmdarhian  Back To Alabama At Carpaccio. Black/tan, another lovely bitch, very scopy and  free moving with style, loved her head, a shade longer in loin than first, but  nit picking. Lovely. 3 Melbourne, Ergis &Holdsworth's Golden Algon  Quinettie Of Melriding.

PGB
(5, 1) 1 Melbourne's Melriding Berengaria.  Another quality girl from this kennel. Black/tan, really well developed front,  correct layback of shoulder and length of upper arm, strong hindquarters with  short hocks, very free mover, slightly milky which just spoilt her outline in  profile, only a temporary problem. 2 Fieke's D'arisca Selina With Lustrum. Red,  quality girl, sweet head, correct all through, nice profile moving and good  coming to me, just toeing in slightly going away. 3 McAulay's Elnside  Syrupittydoodah.

LB
(4)Strong class. 1 Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang  Serenity. Another cracker from this kennel. Red, again gorgeous head and long  neck leading into best of shoulders, excellent ground clearance, drove around  the ring with style and freedom. In the challenge going away from me she was a  shade wide. On saying that, would happily give her a top award. 2 Robinson's  D'arisca Dark And Delicious. Black/ta, quality again with the distinctive type  of this kennel, chuky hindquarters, good width all through, lengthy ribbing and  prominent forechest, in sparkling condition. Although very sound in profile,  she couldn't quite match the ground coverate of the winner, again would have  been happy to award her a top prize. 3 Daykin's Barratini Scarlett Ribbon.

OB
(3)  1 Blackburn's CH Sonderbar Billie Jean At Stargang (Imp). This kennel are going  great guns at the moment. Have admired this lovely lady from the ringside since  her first appearance. Red with lovely bone throughout. Sweet head and  expression, well filled front, correct shoulders, short hocks, stands four square  at all times, excellent body condition, very free mover, her younger kennelmade  just had that special star quality today. Very worthy of all her wins. RCC. 2  Coxon's D'arisca Be Dazzled. Typical, lovely type from this kennel, lovely size  and well covered, red, for a change, excellent conformation all through, moved  with arrogance and style, lovely. 3 Kent's Toniajavae Indian Passion At Lokmadi  JW.
