DACHSHUND - MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
A pleasing entry in numbers but sadly
lacked overall quality especially in the males, heads still are a problem i.e.
apple skulls, snipey forefaces and large round eyes, these traits do not belong
on a dachshund! Elbows also that protrude still prevail in some exhibits; having
said that I was still able to find winners that were in my opinion worthy of
such awards. It did surprise me to hear an exhibitor explain how good their dog
was whilst I was actually going over it on the table! Not pc but nothing
surprises me nowadays! Finally judging is on the day not what has gone on in the
past or what might happen in the future!
PD (7) 1 Ergis Siouxline Zebedee B/T. I was most impressed with this
young chap, scores heavily in head which is of the classic conical shape with a
super eye and expression. Excellent length in neck, clean in shoulder and a copy
book front assembly. He is firm in top line even at this age. His general
outline is correct with good ribs, quality bone and neat compact feet. Put his
best foot forward on the move showing positive parallel rear drive and correct
forward extension up front, holding his outline at all times on the go around.
As usual from this kennel he was presented in stunning condition and schooled so
well. The more I looked the more I liked, no hesitation today CC and BoB, his
second and in this form should gain his crown sooner rather than later. Pleased
to watch him put up a polished performance in the Group but sadly over looked. 2
Scott Wolferlow Captain Bellamy B/T another exhibit that is full of quality, so
correct in head with a lovely eye and expression. Neck of good length, correct
in fore quarters, excellent ribbing, he stands on quality bone with neat compact
feet. Would prefer a slightly lower tail set but thankfully on the move he
carries his tail in the correct fashion showing positive sound movement all
round. Another that was presented in first class order. After completion of the
male judging and what I was left with I felt he thoroughly deserved his RCC
today! 3 Sheppard Thystine Summer Holiday.
JD (4,1) Not an easy class, three exhibits of varying degrees of merit.
1 Mead, Lokmadi Blushing Groom for Minmead NAF B/T. Won this class on his
overall construction, head ok with a correct eye, ribbing good, bone and feet
correct. Stood his general outline is correct, moved well on the out and back, a
little more development will benefit him. 2 Muggleton, mosiarto Mister Motivator
B/T. Another with some good breed points, correct in general outline and sound
on the move. 3 Kent Lokmadi Ocean's Eleven JW.
PD (4,1) Not a good class! 1 Burley, Minimead Mr Noitall By Siouxline
B/T. Has some merit, head ok, general outline correct. Won this class on his
overall construction and soundness. 2 Burton, Swingletrees Just in Time, Red.
Has good general body outline but does need to body up. Moved ok. 3 Shutt,
Donnadoon Le Mousquetaire.
LD (4) 1 Shelton, Barisse a Touch of Magic B/T. Won this class with a
bit in hand. Pleasing in head with a good eye and expression. Lengthy neck,
correct in front assembly, well ribbed, quality in bone with neat feet. He is
well angulated in the rear which he used to good advantage on the move holding
his outline at all times. Perhaps he would benefit for a bit more maturity. Did
consider him for higher award at one stage! 2 Phillips, Jentiki Red Chilli
Pepper of Robinswoop, Red. Smart individual of merit, correct conical shape in
head, lovely eye and expression, correct in front assembly with a correct well
filled fore chest, excels in ribbing, stacked gave off a pleasing outline, felt
he could have been a little more positive in rear when going away. 3 Burton,
Swingletree Ready Teddy Go.
PB (17,4) Super class to sort out, full of promising youngsters for the
future, unfortunately some had to go cardless! 1 Kent, Kiswahili Linda Lokmadi,
Red. All quality exhibit and so pleasing to go over. Quality feminine well
balanced head with a super eye and expression, excels in neck and front
assembly, well ribbed, good top line which leads to a well angulated rear with
short parallel hocks. Her outline on the stack is eye catching, displaying
correct balance. On the move she is sound, presented in excellent order. One for
the note book! 2 Shelton, Barisse Arbennik Isldes Endeavour. Another exhibit
with so much to admire. Scored in head qualities, correct in front assembly,
excellent ribs, stands on quality bone with good feet. Moved out really soundly.
Presented in good order, close up to the winner, will probably change places! 3
Scott Wolferlow Facinating Aida, completing a trio of promising exhibits.
JB (11,2) Probably the class of the day and I'm sure places will change
on other occasions! 1 Ergis, Melbourne, Holdsworth, Alliane with Melriding B/T.
What a cracker. Super to go over, excels in head qualities which is of the
correct conical shape. Super eye and expression, excellent neck and front
assembly, ribbing is good, quality bone with excellent feet. Top line and tail
set bang on. Excellent rear angles which lead to short parallel hocks. Stood she
looked amazing and on the move was so sound. Again as usual from this kennel was
presented in first class order. Pleased to award her the cc today. When it came
to the challenge she was not as confident with her stand in handler and did not
display the same arrogance as she did earlier, still should gain her crown! 2
Hunt Cwmdarhian Back to Alabama A Carpaccio B/T. Yet another exhibit that has so
much to admire. Very eye catching, quality in head, eye and expression.
Excellent balance both fore and aft. Very good ribbing with firm top line. She
has quality in bone with neat compact feet. As usual from this kennel was
presented in super nick and handled to gain maximum output and holding her
outline at all times. Felt she thoroughly deserved the RCC today, with normal
luck should make it to the top. 3 Blackburn-Bennett, Lokmaid Sea Holly at
Stargang, Red. Completing a trio to top draw exhibits.
PB (7) A somewhat mixed class to varying degrees in type and merit. 1
Kent, Lokmadi Crouching Tiger B/T. My notes say won this class on her sound
movement, fair in head with a good eye and expression. Correct in over all body
outline with good ribs. She stands on correct bone with good feet. Presented in
good order. 2 Melbourne, Melriding Berengaria B/T. Another exhibit with plenty
to admire. Similar remarks apply as to the winner. Stacked gave off a true
outline, moved soundly on the out and back holding a pleasing outline on the go
around. 3 Allen Royaldach's Innocent Honour.
LB (6,3) 1 Rutter, Siouxline Mariella, Red. Has plenty to admire,
feminine well balanced head of correct shape with a good eye and expression.
Correct in fore quarters with a well filled fore chest. Her ribbing is good with
a lovely top line and correct tailset. She has well bent stiles which lead to a
short parallel hocks. Used herself well on the out and back showing positive
rear drive and good forward each. Presented in excellent bloom. 2 Muggleton,
Mosiarto Beautiful Belle JW, Red. Another exhibit with plenty to admire.
Feminine well balanced head, correct in eye and expression, neck and top line
correct. She has quality in bone with neat feet. Just felt a better underline
would complete the overall picture. Did however move out soundly on the out and
back. 3 Scott, Belazieth Bonnie Lass with Wolferlow.
OB (3,1) 1 Blackburn Ch Sonderbar Billie Jean at Stargang (imp)Red. Top
draw exhibit that cannot be ignored. I placed her highly in a group last year
and I have not changed my opinion of her. She truly deserves all the accolades
that have come her way. She scores in all departments with so much quality
throughout. Today however I felt she was not on top form just doing enough is
the best way I can describe my feeling as compared to the two young exhibits
that won the major awards who were so full of sparkle and attitude! 2 Ergis,
Siouxline Thomasina JW B/T. Nothing not to dislike about this exhibit either,
smart individual, sweet feminine head, king eye and expression. Good general
outline on the stack. Moved soundly and as usual from this kennel presented in
immaculate coat and condition. Breeders 1st The All conquering Siouxline Team!
