I was delighted to judge the mini smooths, and really enjoyed my day at this welcoming show, and sincere thanks to the committee, who worked so hard, and to all the exhibitors. I was looking for dachshunds fitting our updated standard, that were hopefully not too long in length, or too low, who could not only move correctly but who also had good fronts, shoulder placements and ribbing. I felt that most of my winners had these qualities, and top awards went to the dogs that displayed both balance and correct outline on the move as well.  Overall, I found that some dachshunds were a little long for me, and many smaller heads were present. Weight was not a problem, although there were quite a few, well constructed smaller specimens in the bitches, who hopefully will grow on as they mature.

MP.  Entries.6.  Abs.1.

1st .Blackburn Bennet’s Stargang Avenger.

Sound well constructed brindle , with super front construction, excellent ribbing and correct movement, both coming and going and in profile . Very similar to his sister, but just preferred her reach of neck and profile.

2nd. Hunt’s Carpaccio Red Adair.

Another quality pup, red, with good head, correct ribbing and prosternum. Was a little erratic on the move and rather happy today with his tail but should mature well.

3rd. Daykin’s Barratini Johnny Cash.

PD.     Entries 2.  Abs,0.

1st  Shelton’s Barisse Eragon

B/T baby, of lovely type, with  good head and super front construction and shoulder layback. His ribbing was excellent too, and had nice outline in profile, but just needs to move more briskly and show his confidence, and as he matures will make the grade .BPD.

2nd Stokoe’s Bon Jovie.

Nice red puppy with good head and well ribbed. Needs to drop a little on his hind quarters, which will hopefully come as he matures, and learn to stand with his weight forward.

JD.   Entries 5, Abs.1.

Difficult decision.

1st.Ergis’ Siouxline Levi.

Top quality shaded red, who has all the essentials, and who demonstrated his sound construction with his excellent free movement both coming and going and in outline. I really liked his head, front , shoulder placement and superb ribbing, Just a little longer in length than 2 but correctly proportioned all through.

2nd. Melbourne’s Bronia Machiavelli of Melriding.

Similar comments apply as for 1,, with regard to head, prosternham, shoulders and ribbing, and he also had correct proportions , but was just a little tense on the move, and I think he was shivering, but good dog and I liked him a lot.

3rd.Burton’s Swingletrees Razzamataz

YD.  Ent.2.   Abs.1.

1st.Burton’s Swingletrees Razzamatazz.

Nice sh/red, with good head and ribbing. Moved well but would just prefer if he was a little shorter in loin and he needs more practise standing, which would show his virtues to advantage.

PGD  .Ent 2. Abs 1.

1st. Feddery and Pomphrey’s  Stargang Vermillion Von Maryhazel.

This s/r dog stood alone in his class, was correctly constructed in all departments, with good head, shoulders, ribbing and quarters , and he moved really well. Unfortunately he was simply too big, not fat at all but well muscled, and his owner would probably be wise to show him at shows which do not require him to be weighed and there he will probably do very well.

LD.  Entries 8.  Abs.2.

Close decision.

1st.Melbourne’s Metadale Nikolai at Melriding.

S/red ,lovely type, correct all through with good head and eye ,displaying superb front, with well constructed oval chest and ribbing and super angulation on both shoulders and firm quarters. In lovely condition ,he moved so well in the challenge, and was pleased to award him the RCC.

2nd.Ergis’ Siouxline Zebedee.

B/t, Another sound, well constructed dog all through, who looked so stylish on the move. Just a fraction closer coming toward on the move than 1, but very nice quality dog, who I really liked.

3rd Muggleton’s Mosiarto Mister Motivator.

OD.  Ent 6, Abs.2.

1st.Herrington’s Kathington Coeur De Lion.

Beautifully presented b/t, easily stood apart today, moving out so freely and correctly in this excellent class  of quality dogs, and also in the challenge. With good markings and super head, his prosternum, shoulder placement and ribbing were superb, and he looked a picture in the ring, and carried himself well. Pleased to award him CC.his third I believe, and well deserved..

2nd.Coxon’s Ch. D’Arisca I Do Declare.

B/t, top quality well deserved champion, who has all the essentials, and was correctly assembled throughout, with especially good ribbing and quarters. Another who looked so good in the ring, but just not moving out as freely as 1 today as they went around.

3rd.Blackburn’s Welcumen Red Rum to Stargang.

MPB.  Ent.10 Abs 4.

1st Blackburn’s Stargang Desert Vixen.

This sh/red baby stole the class with being correctly constructed all through,, with lovely angulation on both ends to complete the picture .She held her outline well on the move, just needs to mature up a little and should do well.

2nd Kerry’s Brocklewood Bacall At Kireton.

Sh/red,  with lovely head, neck and and sound ribbing reaching well back. Not quite the angulation on the shoulders or quarters as 1 , but could mature well,as she matures .

3rd.Muggleton’s Zarosa Stunning In Black For Mosiarto.

PB . 8 Entries.4 Abs.

1st. Blackburn Bennet’s Stargang Evora.

Lovely quality brindle pup, preferred her reach of neck and outline to her brother, and she had well constructed front, shoulders and ribbing. Angulation on the quarters matched the front and she displayed a good outline when she settled on the move. BPB. BPIB.

2nd Herrington’s Kathington Chance To Dream.

Gorgeous little b/t.,loved her type, with good markings and super front construction and good angulation front and back. She was well proportioned and compact and I loved her especially on the move..A little more practise and she’ll be one to trouble the best.

3rd Endersby’s Mowbray Miss Miranda.

JB.    Ent 7, Abs 2.

 1st.Salisbury’s Brocklewood Calypso.

Lovely balanced sh/r, with good head and reach of neek, correct front construction and ribbing. She looked well on the move and kept a super outline as she stepped out , and moved around the ring.

2nd Lambardelli’s Mylforbe Fleur De Lys At Kelmbeck.

Quality b/t, lovely type, so well constructed all through, with sound shoulder placement and ribbing. Lovely in profile and coming towards ,on the day, just preferred hind action of 1 going away.

3rd.Endersby’s Mowbray Marissa.

YB.    8 Ent, 2 Abs. Super class of good quality bitches here with  difficult decisions.

1st Shelton’s Barisse’Arbennik Isoldes Endeavour.

Lovely type sh/r ,sound all through and shown so well. Had all the essentials in her construction, together with lovely head, balance profile and correct movement, and I think she is another who will do very well.

2nd Daykin’s Barratini Margo.

S/red, another bitch from the top drawer, and difficult to separate from 1, and similar comments apply to this young lady too. Just a fraction longer in loin than 1,but so sound and correct and I loved her.

3rd. Mitchell’s Bronia Carmina at Imrika.

PGB  Ent 6, Abs,0. Another super class .

1st  Kerry’s Brocklewood Bee’s Knees at Kireton.

Super compact sh/r, stood well and shown to perfection, with good head, super front, shoulders and ribbing. She moved  well, keeping good profile on the move, and won her class on her movement.

2nd.Garthorn Lady Gaga to Garlandelms.

Very similar to 1, very well put together all through and good type, and lovely quality bitch. Just needs to get moving more briskly round the ring to show herself off.

3rd.Walker’s Donnadoon Tiger Feet For Dorian.

LB. Ent,5. Abs, 2.

1st.Melbourne’s Melriding Berengaria.

One of the best fronts of the day and everything all through was quality and correct. Beautifully balanced b/t, with the best of heads, and her angulation correct on both front and quarters, and her flowing movement stood out .My type exactly. RCC.

2nd. Ergis’ Siouxline Aurora.

This sh/r was also so sound all through, with good head, correct construction and angulation and such good movement . Just a little higher in type than 1 but a super quality bitch and I loved her.

3rd.Blackburn Bennet’s Sandanca Silver Lady At Stargang

OB Ent, 6, Abs 1  Lovely class full of quality..

1st .Ch.Sonderbar Billie Jean At Stargang.

S/red, top drawer bitch,, who did not put a foot wrong on the day, and was all I was looking for. So balanced ,compact, true in movement ,with super front  ribbing and correctly laid shoulders and, firm quarters. The picture was completed with a good head and reach of neck, and she stood out for me and pleased to award her BCC, BOB and pleased to see her go RBIS.

2nd Coxon’s D’Arisca Damsel In  A Dress.

Top quality. b/t, construction again correct all through, with lovely type, and I really liked her. The winner just had the edge on movement for me today.

3rd.Melbourne’s Golden Algonquinette of Melriding.
