Very pleased to judge this
variety of Dachshund which on today's showing has a satisfying depth of quality
and a good future especially noting some lovely puppies present. Weight and body
cover does not appear to be a serious problem with only 2 exhibits today
pressing the top weight on the scales. I was very pleased with my winners and in
some classes otherwise prize winners had to leave cardless. Congratulations to
my CC winners and hope they go on to achieve their titles.
MPD(4)1 A pleasing class of good quality puppies to start my day's
judging. 1 Kent's Lokmadi A Boy Named Sue, a 7 month old B/T who for me has a
super side profile which is balanced, not only in angulation but in length to
height. Good bone and construction development with pleasing forechest.
Attractive expression and typical head, set on a neck of good length flowing to
a firm body and top line. Best mover of this class. 2 Phillips' Carpaccio Mr
Selfridge Of Robinswood, an 8 month old and another promising quality youngster
who is of similar make and shape to 1st. Good forechest and body width. Pleasing
head and expression with sufficient length of neck compatible with his overall
body and length. Moved out well in front with extension but would prefer more
parallel width behind. 3 Ergis' Siouxline Flynn Rider.
PD (6) 1 Paget & Carroll's Bronia Valente Of Marvale, an 11 month old
who is typical in construction and distinctive in mature look and
characteristics. He has a pleasing profile both in head and overall body outline
being long and low but with good leg length completely in proportion to his
length. Well made body with prominent breastbone and being firm in substance and
top line. Moved with a sound, true active gait. Best Puppy Dog. 2 Heptinstall's
Pascalli Blue Moon, another attractive 11 month old who is pleasing in quality
of type and conformation. Well proportioned head with a pleasing expression.
True front with good angulations which is in balance with the angles of his
hindquarters; excellent overall shape with a firm correct line of body although
just preferred more finished look of 1st. Moved with purpose and confidence. 3
Keenan and Smith's Bronia Vivaldo Of Citycroft
JD (4)1 Smith & Connor's Bronia Gregorio. a super quality 17 month old
B/T who has attractive clean lines all through which combined with all the
essentials in characteristics, construction and breed type produce an excellent
top quality male. He has an attractive head which he carries proudly and in
noble fashion; he has ideal overall balance and proportions which catch the eye
of the observer. He moved with purpose and confidence with true extension in
front and good parallel width and drive behind. He is of the make and shape that
I look for and was good to go over. He impressed me with his sound front, his
firm well made body and strong well angled parallel rear construction. My Dog CC
winner. 2 Protheroe's Grandgables Crafty Lil Devil At Royalmaple, a 13 month old
Red who is nicely developed being a well made male who possesses many of the
qualities of 1st while being slightly longer on the leg. Another with the
balance in side profile and overall length that caught my eye. Well made front
and forequarters with good width all through. Attractive head shape, lines and
expression. Firm in body which is of pleasing overall length with tail set on
high enough. Moved out well with good front action but tended to be closer in
rear than I prefer. 3 Melbourne's D'arisca Flaunt It At Melriding.
UGD (2) 1 Hunt's Mylforbe Matchmaker At Carpaccio, attractive 13 month
old B/T of the type, make and shape that I like. Lovely expression with a typy
head set on a neck of good length flowing onto a well made body and top line.
Pleasing profile with good obvious forechest and having balance in angulations
front and rear with ideal length of leg to suit him. One who possesses quality
and promise. Moved well especially in front with true parallel action but
preferred the rear movement of the CC winner. My Dog Reserve CC winner. 2
Bishton's Lokmadi Jack Be Nimble At Jaydania, an 11 month old who is pleasing in
overall shape. I liked his head and intelligent expression. He is of ideal width
all through with the desirable prominent breast bone I like. Well made in body
which is of firm cover, spring and depth with pleasing top line. Tended to sit
into himself which detracted from his profile on occasions. Moved freely but
preferred rear action of 1st.
PGD(3)1 Carey's Swingletrees Abracadabra, lovely shaped 2 year old red
that has an attractive head, lovely dark eye, with nicely set ears, all of which
go together to give him an attractive expression. Very attractive side outline
with good length on the leg. Well constructed all through with a true front and
obvious fore chest and excellent overall body length and having a firm level top
line. Moved out well with an active gait. 2 Nolan's Kelmbeck Lord Of The Dance
At Eddyval, a 5 year old b/t who is well enough bodied and mature in look.
Pleasing in head and expression with good width all through having spring and
depth and being well ribbed back. Needs to tighten in front which would help
both standing and moving.
LD(5,3) 1 Burton's Swingletrees Razzamatazz JW, very typical 2 year old
red who is refined in head and expression and shapely both standing & moving. He
held his top line well with good length in neck and pleasing head carriage. True
front with good fore chest and width all through. He is firm in body with enough
spring, depth and overall length to present an attractive picture. Moved out
well and the better of this class. 2 Nolan's Kelmbeck Lord Of The Dance At
Eddyval
OD (3) 1 Paterson's Kinzel Hidden Promise, super male who is impressive
in make and shape and has quality and promise in abundance. Very attractive head
shape and expression, full of breed qualities. He is soundly constructed all
through with a particularly well made front and forequarters. He has ideal width
and is pleasing in balance of angulations front/rear. Eye catching profile with
good height to length ratio and having enough length in leg to be fit for
function. An easy mover with a free, true action with plenty of drive and
extension. Close up to my top winners and will trouble the best as he develops
and consolidates his quality. 2 MELbourne"S Metadale Nikolai Of Melriding, a 3
year old who is of a different style to my 1st being a more compact and
substantially constructed male. Typy masculine refined head which is pleasing in
profile and is in keeping with his overall body outline and balance. Good dark
eye and good ears. I liked his front and forequarters, overall body and top
line. Moved out freely but needs to settle in front. Watkinson's Manakoora
Hawaiian Amakihi
Vet D (1) 1 Sim's Little Wizard Of Kelmbeck, a 7½ year old b/t mature
male who has an attractive overall make and shape. Pleasing head both in shape
and expression. Ok front but would prefer more width; he has good overall body
length and is balanced in front and rear angulations. Moved freely but tended to
be unsettled in front and close behind.
MPB (10,2) 1 Paterson's Shelsall Ginger Rogers At Ambiesque, a
mature looking 6 month old red who is well boned and well developed having all
the desired conformation qualities and an abundance of promise. She is of the
make, shape and style that appeals to me. She has a look of fitness power and
strength and is well constructed in front and fore quarters with ideal width all
through; stands true. She has a very attractive side profile with balance in
angulations and is ideal in body and leg length. The best of movers with
superior head carraige. Best Puppy in Breed. 2 Ergis & Melbourne's Siouxline
Rapunzel, a 7 month old d/red who is another super quality youngster who has the
general appearance which is breed typical. She is excellent in conformation all
through. Super head shape and expression, well developed with a sound true front
with good width and fore chest. Firm in body and correct in top line. Moved with
purpose and active confidence in true puppy style but not as precise as 1st. 3
Oddie and Dyer's Stargang Sea Folly At Riowood.
PB (11,2)1 Salisbury's Brocklewood Black Rose, a super quality 11S
month old b/t bitch of solid make and substance. Eyecatching in profile both
standing and on the move. She has clean lines and is smart and soundly
constructed having a quality breed typical appearance. Firm in body with
balanced well angulated front and rear. She has a true front which is of ideal
width and full nicely let down hindquarters which are broad enough with legs set
parallel. Moved really well, true, freely and best of class. 2 Kent's Lokmadi
Goodnight Irene, a 10 month old b/t who is another very promising impressive
quality youngster. She is of very similar construction and style to 1st and
shares many of the same qualities and comments; today I just preferred the head
profile of 1st. She moved well and true enough with good extension in front and
width behind. 3 Scott's Wolferlow Mary Quant.
JB (8)1 Williams' Manacas Amber Cover At Wilmerella. outstanding
quality d/red junior bitch who has a super side outline which is satisfying in
its correctness of balance and height/length proportions. She has clean refined
lines and excels in breed type which she combines with sound conformation.
Pleasing construction in front with a firm long, low body and strong level top
line with ideal height of leg for her body length; strong hindquarters of ideal
angulations and width. Lovely type and impressed both standing and on the move.
She is in commendable condition and is a lovely representative of the breed. My
Bitch CC and BOB winner. She really impressed on the day with her sound ground
covering movement both when challenging for the Bitch CC and BOB. 2 Scott's
Wolferlow Anthea, a 17 month old b/t who is attractive in general appearance and
is of similar construction and shape to 1st although when standing needs to
stand firm to give of her best. Attractive in head and expression with good
length neck. She attracted my attention with her lovely balanced profile. She
has good angulations front and rear with a true front and well made forequarters
and prominent sternum. She has good length with ribbing well back, spring and
depth. She moved with confidence and with purpose. 3 Paterson's Jazzeebee Fire
Babe.
UGB (4,1) 1 Scott's Wolferlow Anthea. 2 Burton's Swingletrees
Eiderdown, a very nice quality 2 year old d/red bitch who is attractive in side
profile with good leg length. She is slightly finer than 1st but with all the
positives and feminine qualities of the breed and still has the promise to
develop, mature and improve. Pleasing overall make, shape and profile as viewed
from the front, rear and side. Moved well enough especially in front. 3 Boyce's
Lokmadi Pretty Flamingo At Hollygor.
PGB (12,1) 1 Williams' Manacas Amber Cover At Wilmerella. 2 Salisbury's
Brocklewood Calypso JW, a super quality 2 year old d/red who complimented my 1st
with her similar quality of conformation and overall general appearance. She is
well constructed all through and has similar head shape to 1st although I just
preferred the head carriage and length of neck of 1st. Pleasing to go over and
so much to like about her and admire in her breed qualities. She endorsed her
conformation with her sound movement. 3 Blackburn's Stargang Morning Glow.
LB(7,2) 1 Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Sansa, 2½ year old mature
looking super quality red bitch who has classic clean lines. She possesses a
quality head and expression, strong neck of good length, set on strong, broads
well laid shoulders which flow to a firm body which is of good length and she
has a strong level top line. She is sound in front and is balanced in
angulations front/rear with good width all through with good length of leg. She
has a sound balanced outline both standing and moving in side gait. 2 Mitchell's
Bronia Fabrizia. Another quality well constructed red bitch who is a mature
rising 4 year old and has the look of sound, firm maturity. She has many of the
same breed qualities of 1st but I just preferred the strength of rear and rear
movement of 1st. Pleasing prominent sternum and true sound front which she used
to her advantage on the move. Strong mature body with good spring and depth of
chest. She had purpose and extension in front but needs to settle behind. 3
Kerry's Brocklewood Bee's Knees At Kireton
OB(8,1) 1 Child-Thomas & Ergis' Ch Siouxline April Folly JW, a quality
mature 5 year old red which the breed appearance description of being "Long and
Low" fits perfectly. Very attractive head set on a neck of good shape and length
flowing to a firm correct shaped top line. True sound front, well made body
having good spring and depth with nicely let down hindquarters. Refined lines
all through and certainly feminine. Moved well and free and moved the best of
this class. When challenging for the bitch CC just preferred the look clean
strong look and active, easy ground covering movement of my CC winner but
pleased to acknowledge April Folly's excellence by awarding her the Reserve
Bitch CC. 2 Blackburn-Bennett's Sandanca Silver Lady At Stargang, very appealing
b/t silver brindle who has a very attractive side outline with a pleasing top
line and underline; she is feminine and refined and is of ideal size and
substance with excellent fore chest and angulations front and rear. Moved freely
