Championship show: It gave me great pleasure to judge mini smooth's and I was pleasantly surprised at the lovely temperaments, and quality in some exhibits. One or two were quite over the weight limit and were placed accordingly.  Mouths were good. My greatest concern for this breed is a short upper arm which needs to be rectified by careful selection when considering mating. MPD 1 Coxon's Darisca Suits You … and suited me, was very young but a lovely puppy with lots of potential, lovely head and eye and good deep muzzle, no snipeyness here, front prominent, good level topline and underline, well angulated.  Moved well for a totally young lad.  One to watch.  B.P. 2 Paget & Carrolli's Ygeia Magic Touch at Marvale. Another promising puppy, small in head, not as much depth of muzzle as first, and not as mature, just needs time to come together. Good luck with him. PD 1 Kent's Locmadi A Boy Named Sue. What can I say we share the same name!  This black and tan dog has a good head and eye, good prosternum and ribbing.  Well made rear with a good turn of stifle. Stood four square giving a pleasing outlook. Moved the best of the three in the class. Worthy winner. 2 Robert's Denver Darling Doctor Who. Red dog, reasonable head. Would like more depth of muzzle, good shoulders, enough bone, well rounded rear, good feet. Moved well. JD 1 Mitchell's Ygeira Landgraf 1 for Bronia (IMP). Brindle dog with good reach of neck, nice on head, and of good length. He was a little narrow coming to me but he drove well from the rear, but has time on his side.  Would like to see him in a year's time when he is more mature. 2 Melbourne's Melriding Perkin Warbeck. Sadly this boy was very unsettled today or places may have changed.  Good head and eye, well made all through, good rear.  Moved very unsteady. N 1 Phillip's Carpaccio Mr Selfridge of Robins Wood. Black and tan, reasonable head, ears a bit short, good front and shoulders, good spring of rib.  Well angulated. Moved OK. PG 1 Nolan's Kelmbeck Lord of the Dance at Eddyval. This lad would benefit from some serious training, he was very unsettled.  He has lots to offer, pleasing head, enough neck, a little short in keel, rear assembly is OK, but on the move he looked very stiff.  He needs gentle exercise to improve his movement.  Lots to like, more to give. L 1 Protheroe's Grandgables Crafty Lil Devil at Royal Maple. Loved this boy as soon as he walked into the ring full of confidence, good head on a reachy neck, leading into well placed shoulders, enough ribbing, good underline, well made quarters, good turn of stifle.  Moved out really well, driving from the rear with good length of stride which earned him his second CC and BOB. I wish him luck for the future and his crown.  Well handled. 2 Paget & Carrolli's Bronia Valente of Marvale. Another nice exhibit, good front, not overly long, sound in rear. Moved well. OD 1 Smith's Ch, Bronia Gregorio. Such a star, knows exactly what he's doing and obviously enjoys it. Nice head and dark eyes, kind expression, good front, keel going well back, enough ribbing, good length, well angulated and good turn of stifle. Moved out well with drive and purpose.  Very well handled.  RCC. MPB 1 Herrington's Kathington Chance Be a Lady. Lovely conical head and good eye, good front for age, good ribbing carried well back, well made rear, excellent turn of stifle, not overdone anywhere, dark pigmentation.  Moved out well for a youngster. 2 Coxon's Darisa Dizzy Heights. This lovely bitch had to give way to maturity today but she is really well made all through, gorgeous tight feet front and rear.  Moved well. One to watch. PB 1 Reed's Deercroft Summer Serenade. Liked this red bitch, she is very well balanced with a good head, front, topline, underline are all there developing nicely. Nice overall size and not overdone. Moved well for one so young.  Good luck with her. 2 Coxon's Darisca Dressed for the Best. Another beauty in the making, very happy and outgoing.  Similar comments apply as above, just needs to settle.  These two will change places a lot in the future I think. JB 1 Paget & Carrolli's Bronia Vittoria of Marvale. Well put together bitch, reasonable head enough underjaw, excellent front, well made hammy quarters. Moved out well and with drive. Neat and compact. 2 Price's Brianolf Pink Sapphire with Samlane. Another lovely exhibit, good in head, ears come down to her nose and were well rounded.  Good front, level topline kept on the move, well made rear.  Needs firmer handling.  Like to see her in a year's time.  Wish her well for the future. N 1 Herrington's Kathington Chance be a Lady. Same comments apply as previous. 2 Kerry's Kireton Bon Bon.Really lovely girl, small and neat, and of quality.  Would like a bit more of her.  Super tight feet.  Moved out well. PG 1 Williams & Moes CwmDarhian Vera Amoe. This bitch is very well made all through, good earset reaching down to nose, good front and rear. A word of advice to her young handler, list to instructions from your judge, a triangle means just that not a circle. In time you will make a good handler. 2 Salisbury's Brocklewood Black Rose. This bitch has good reach of neck, good turn of stifle, nice hammy rear, reasonable head but my main concern is that she is too deep in keel which does not allow much ground clearance. L 1 Mitchell's Bronia Feliciana. Red bitch, small and neat with good set of ears, well rounded, well made rear. Moved out well. Well handled. 2 Callow's Garthorne Miss Toffee. Really liked this one but just a bit too much of her, good in head and eye, reach of neck, lovely front and turn of stifle. Good in bone and feet, gave a lovely picture on the stand. Moved out really well. O 1 Callow's Garthorne Little Eva. Good in head and eye, enough underjaw, nothing snipey here, enough front and good rear assembly, good in bone and feet, so well balanced. Moved well which earned her her final CC for her crown. Well done. CC. 2 Coxon's Darisca Damsel in a Dress. Liked this one too, wish I had had two tickets, I remember giving her BP a few years ago, lovely reach of neck and good underline and rear. Nice size, just preferred the balance of 1st today.  Very close decision, hope her crown is not long in coming.
