I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge Miniature Wire Haired Dachshunds and Miniature Smooth Haired Dachshunds. I was disappointed with my two stewards who argued very unprofessionally the whole time which made an unpleasant experience for everyone. Thank you though to everyone who entered and came along.

Veteran D/B (3,0)

1st: Hughes - Minimead Maid To Love  for Julidachs - BVIB

Smart and elegant black and tan bitch. Good shape holding topline on move. Well angled shoulders and hind quarters. Smart head although slightly rounder in eye.

2nd: Dimon - Indyvic Enchanted Onyx

Another smart black and tan bitch. Good shape although losing topline slightly on move. Prefered the underline on 1st. Correct head with better eye than 1st.

Puppy Dog (3,1)

1st: Tite - Ayeseebee Candy Apple Red TAF

2nd: Rudkin - Dynastydax Peter Pan

Two nice young males. Both had lovely heads with good almond shaped eyes, correct mouths and good ear sets. 1st was slightly longer cast than 2nd but better on move in profile. Good toplines and underlines. Both promising.

Junior Dog (2,1)

1st: Starkey - Carpaccio Just My Luck With Hamoura

This poor boy felt the cold as the weather had changed by this point so he was fairly stuffy when stacked and topline was off. However, on the move he sprung to life and held his topline and underline well. Lovely head. Well set shoulders and hind quarters. Another promising youngster.

Post Graduate Dog (5,3)

1st: Rudkin - Dynastydax Diamond Geezer

2nd: Strange - Mylforbe Majestical Knight

Two nice males. Both nice shape. 1st had a strong masculine head and 2nd was slightly more pleasing and more refined. Both had good almond shaped eyes. Both had well laid back shoulders and good length of upper arm with matching hind quarters. 1st moved better as held topline and underline, 2nd felt the cold losing shape on move.

Open Dog (6,2)

1st: Hunt - Ch Carpaccio Casablanca JW Sh.CM - BD

Beautiful quality male. Refined head with almond shaped eyes and correct mouth. Fabulous topline and matching underline. Moved really well over rough ground.

2nd: Ergis - Ch Siouxline Flynn Rider - RBD

Stunning head, good eye shape and correct mouth with good ear set. Dark pigment. Moved well but slightly less bone than 1st.

Puppy Bitch (6,0)

1st: West - Archidax Betty Boop - RBB & BPIB

2nd: Rudkin - Dynastydax Periwinkle

Two lovely red bitches. Both had well angulated fronts but needed 'fill' which will come. Matching hind quarters. 1st had a better underline than 2nd. 1st was slightly more together on move. 2nd had a beautiful head. Both promising.

Junior Bitch (3,1)

1st: Rudkin - Dynastydax Tiger Lilly

Beautiful red bitch with smart head, eye and ear set. Good shoulders and hind quarters. Lovely topline and underline. Moved well.

2nd: Strange - Carole's Sunshine Surprise

Another beautiful bitch, very similar to 1st. Prefered the topline on 1st. Moved well. Promising.

Post Graduate Bitch (9,1)

1st: Ergis - Siouxline Esther Rose

2nd: Hughes - Souxline Tiana to Julidachs

3rd: West - Archidax Bonneville

First three in this class were very similar and very pleasing. All moved well with quality heads and pleasing expressions. All three were very elegant and feminine. 1st had good dark eyes and pigment. Topline on 1st was beautiful. All had good underlines. 1st, 2nd and 3rd all moved very well and soundly over rough ground.

Open Bitch (3,0)

1st: Hunt - Carpaccio Blithe Spirit JW - BB & BoB

Another quality bitch from this kennel. Pleasing head with good eye shape, ear set, mouth and underjaw. Plenty of bone. Strong topline and underline. Well laid back shoulders with good length of upper arm, matching hind quarters. Good length to height ratio. Smart and positive on move. Beautiful in profile.

2nd: Hughes - Julidachs Jocasta

Very similar to 1st although 1st had a better head. Good smart and sound bitch. Well angled shoulders with matching hind quarters. Moved well also although lacked bone 1st had and slightly shorter in loin.
