Many thanks to the exhibitors for your entries it was a shame about the absentees. A number of exhibits did not perform as well due to the noise created indoors and by amongst other things the cold bad weather. I found a number of heads untypical with some round eyes, too much stop and some short forefaces giving a more toy type look. As always soundness of body and movement were given a greater priority. Short ribbing was evident amongst the entry which in consequence spoilt the underline. Hind movement in some cases demonstrated a throwing out action of one of the legs before striking the ground which was more noticeable on a concrete surface as opposed to grass. Body weight and condition was not a concern today with no thin exhibits and five hounds very slightly over the 5kg maximum, which were still in good conditioning for their individual body frames.
I found presentation to be of a high standard throughout. Considering todays showing conditions I found temperaments were in the vast majority very good.

1st – Phillips’s Stargang Devil-May-Care of Robinswood
He has a lovely head and eye shape which enhances his true Dachshund expression, prominent prosternum which follows through to good ribbing, well angulated with correct rear, he moved parallel with correct width, he was a little put off by the conditions indoors which was disappointing as I felt he could have challenged further.
2nd – Scott’s Wolferlow Will Scarlet
Black and Tan boy who has a long neck which leads to clean shoulders and sound front assembly, another with well angulated quarters, well balanced throughout, maintained his outline on the move.
3rd – Shutt’s Donnadoon Waterloo Sunset
PGD – 4 Entries 2 Abs
1st – Thomas’s Royaldachs Authorized King
Dog who has more leg length and therefore greater ground clearance, has a super outgoing temperament which was great to witness, moved well but with a little too much lift in front action, would prefer more rear angulation through the upper and lower thighs.
2nd – Phillips’s Arbennik St Thomas of Robinswood
Good head and eye, well ribbed , nice size and balance, again would prefer more rear angulation and unfortunately he was not happy on the move today.
LD – 6 Entries 1 Abs
