A high quality entry at this lovely show.  Well filled classes with more than one pushing for the top spot.  My winners are all deserving of their awards and I was very pleased to see my Best Puppy go on to win Reserve Best Puppy In Show …….. well done!

Weight was OK generally, as was temperament, but a lot of the Dachshunds today had very dirty teeth and also untrimmed nails.  A simple tooth clean and clippers would help to complete the picture.

Overall, this is a well proportioned young man.  He is already developing a pro-sternum and his neck is of a decent length.  Ribs are good and well rounded.  Attractive head and expression.  He moved out correctly and maintained a decent profile.

2.     Cross’s LOGETTA RICH PICKINGS

This puppy is still very raw and immature, but he is quite nicely put together.  Pro-sternum OK and his profile was pleasing on the move, maintaining a level backline.

1.     PAGET & CARROLL’S MARVALE UP WITH THE LARK

Top quality young male who is very well constructed and presents a very appealing profile.  Good head with dark eye, lengthy neck leading on to well-laid back shoulders.  He has well rounded ribs supporting a strong backline.  Well angulated quarters enabled him to move freely, both fore and aft.

2.     KENT’S LOKMADI BOWETTS TESTA ROSSO

Another good male in a larger mould.  Beautiful head and expression.  Well rounded ribbing with strong backline and well angulated quarters.  Moved out very well.  I preferred the front construction of 1.

Black & tan of quality, correct all through in his construction.  Lovely tight feet and well laid back shoulder assembly, strong backline supported by well rounded ribbing.  Angulated quarters giving him correct movement around the ring.  Res DOG CC

2.     BLACKBURN BENNETT’S STARGANG BARRACUDA

Another good male with very similar attributes to 1.  A good pro-sternum with a decent shoulder assembly.  Moved out well on the grass, pushing from angulated quarters.

Black & tan boy who was generally OK.  Acceptable head and neck with good pro-sternum and lay back of shoulder.  He carried a level backline and has correct quarters.  Moved out parallel fore and aft.

2.     CALLOW’S GARTHORNE T. REX

A young male here who is correct all through.  Attractive head and expression and OK shoulders.  Good ribs and well angulated quarters.  He just needs to settle on the move.

3.     DUNHILL’S GELLIJAMS ALDANTI

1.     CALLOW’S GARTHORNE JACKSON

Black & tan of top quality.  A well constructed boy with a masculine head, long neck and correct shoulder assembly, level backline supported by well rounded ribbing.  Well angulated quarters.  He would not settle properly to move on the grass, which cost him further honours.

2.     SCOTT’S WOLFERLOW WILL SCARLET

Another lovely boy in a larger frame.  Correct shoulders and ribbing, and great angulation carried a strong backline.

At nine years old, this quality dog moved out with style and a youthful attitude.  He is so nicely put together and maintains a good profile, both stacked and on the move.  BEST VETERAN

A lovely baby of just seven months headed this class.  A very attractive head and enough neck led on to a correct front assembly.  Good ribbing supported a good backline, and well angulated quarters enabled her to move out with strong fore and aft drive.

2.     BLACKBURN BENNETT’S STARGANG GO BLONDE

Another quality girl who carries a bit more length than 1, correct forehand, long reachy neck and strong well placed quarters.  Strong backline which she holds on the move.

Top drawer youngster who ticks all the boxes.  Correct all through with a very appealing head and expression.  Good forehand, which she uses on the move, maintaining her backline at all times and using her well angulated quarters to advantage.  BPIB, Res BITCH CC, and RBPIS.  Well done.

2.     METCALF-BILGIN’S MARVALE EYE OF THE DAWN OVER METADALE

Another good puppy who is slightly smaller than 1, but all of a piece with a good forehand again and good ribbing, leading on to well angulated quarters.

3.     WELHAM’S BARRYANN VENUS

This quality girl has just hit Junior and she is so full of promise.  Correct forehand and pro-sternum, enough neck and well rounded ribbing.  Correct well angulated quarters.  She sports a very appealing head and expression.  A very relaxed youngster who moved out with style.

2.     BLACKBURN-BENNETT’S STARGANG MARY ROSE

This young lady again was very good in her construction, with a long neck and tidy shoulder assembly.  She maintained a good profile and pushed off around the ring with well placed quarters.

A sweet young lady who is quite well put together.  She has a decent forehand and that leads on to good ribbing and well turned quarters.  She was handled to advantage and maintained a good profile at all times.

2.     OAKLEY’S PAMELA MOTOWN AT ARDENRUN

This girl is quite a good example of the breed in type, well constructed and appealing on the move.  Unfortunately, she was not handled at all well which cost her better placings in her classes.

Another quality youngster from this kennel.  An appealing head and expression with a good neck, leading on to a correct forehand.  She has decent ribbing and well angulated quarters.  Moved out very well for a baby amongst the grown-ups.

Beautifully constructed girl headed this class and she ticks all the boxes.  Attractive head and lengthy neck, correct forehand and deep ribbing supporting a strong backline.  Angulated quarters gave her drive on the move and she was parallel both fore and aft.  Pushed hard for top honours.

2.     KERRY’S KIRETON CICI

This bitch is in a small mould but, again, is full of quality.  Attractive head and enough neck, leading on to correct shoulders.  Level backline and well angulated quarters.  She did not help her handler today.

Another top class bitch, again with a beautiful feminine head.  Good forehand and correct lay of shoulder.  She has well angulated quarters, and well rounded ribs support a strong backline.
