This entry was a real treat today, the puppy classes were a particular delight, and there hardly any struggles with weight, through the entry.Again coats in the main were smooth, dense and shiny.
P D 4
1st Paget and Carroll’s Marvale Up With The Lark- what a cracking light red of nine months, masculine head equidistant front and back, decent length of neck giving him a proud head carriage, strong in front, keel long enough and well proportioned all through. Strongly held topline, moved straight and true, with drive and energy. R.B.D., B.P. and 2nd in Hound Puppy Group, well done.
2nd Wyeth’s Danton Cappucino –nicely proportioned chocolate and tan, ten months old, and all of a piece, not exaggerated in any way, head neck, body all flow, promising.
3rd Kent’s Lokmadi Bowetts Testarosso
J D 3
1st Callow’s Garthorne Gavin –black and tan in good order, head as required and pleasing forechest, perhaps could with a little more keel. Held topline well and moved efficiently. Won with his better shape of pelvis and more parallel movement.
2nd Lokmadi Bowett’s Testarosso- I much preferred this pup’s head, and he is very attractive but the angulation of his pelvis was just causing him to flip out his back feet I thought.
3rd Melbourne’s Ambreglo Storm at Melriding.
PG D 3
1st Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall- such an unexaggerated functional dog, black and tan with a little rise over the nose, balanced head, almond eye. Length to neck, although perhaps a little dewlap, a decent front but a super length of keel and ribbing right up to his short loin. He moves true and with lift in front but he really needs some more activity to show the drive his conformation indicates he should have.
2nd Coxon’s D’Arisca Ambreglo Showers- Very small black and tan, and certainly a dachshund in miniature. Good shape and moving well enough but for me could do with more bone.
3rd Barrett’s Star’s Tori Great Joy at Ayseebee (Imp)
O D 2
1st Coxon’s Ch Distinctly So D’Arisca – shaded red mature male of stature, great ring presence and carriage. Lovely head in the right measure leading to a decent length of neck, super shoulder assembly. Long in ribbing, short in loin, balanced in correct angulation, and good bone and feet. He flowed from nose to tail. Moved true, freely and actively. B.D. and B.O.B.
2nd Barrett’s Ch Ayseebee Rumour Has It – A lovely black and tan, who again had a well proportioned head, good front and length to body. Just felt his rear angulation didn’t quite match the front. Super condition and moved out well enough.
V D 1
1st Kent’s Ch Barratini Jeeves at Lokmadi J.W. – Happy, charming black and tan with a masculine, balanced head and correct body proportions. Super coat and well enough off for bone. A little bouncy on the move, but with such a very waggy tail who can fail to enjoy watching him. B.V. and a well deserved Hound Veteran Group 4.
P B 8
1st Melbourne’s Siouxline Goldilocks of Melriding- these first two were very hard to separate, so promisng, as were a few in this class ,but this red seven month was so like another from this same kennel that I love , that I could not resist . Flowing from conical head through a well set shoulder, good ribbing, topline and gently flowing underline, just all of a piece.Yes she acted like a puppy on the move, though straight and true when cooperating, and was not so self assured as second, but I can’t wait to see her in the future.
2nd Metcalfe-Bilgin’s Marvale Eye Of The Dawn over Metadale- eleven months dark shaded red who also pleased with her beautiful shape, lovely front assembly , she moved out well, and will also do very well in the years ahead. I loved her too.
3rd Bullingham’s Bowetts Carminia.
J B 5(1)
1st Hutchings’ Stargang Hot Cross Bun –brindle with a dark almond eye, equidistant muzzle and skull, strong jaw. Enough reach of neck and holding topline on the move. Better in prosternum than second, I thought.A good handful of feet, super coat and decent proportions. Strode out well.
2nd Melbourne and Paget’s Garthorne Olivia Grace at Melriding –a little finer in type this one, although still a beautiful shape all through, a bit less in front than winner though. In super condition and moved well.
3rd Mortlock’s Donnadoon Simply Magic for Hertsmerry
PG B 5
1st Oxley’s Dinkidax Phyllisia – black and tan , attractive and feminine head and presenting a lovely outline, held on the move. I would have preferred a bit more prosternum but her proportions were good and she moved fairly actively.
2nd Shutt’s Donnadoon Dreamdust – brindle of finer type, better in forechest than winner but a little shorter in keel to me. Also holding topline well on the move.
3rd Mason’s Ayla Starlight
O B 8 (4)
Well what a class!
1st Coxon’s D’Arisca Danish Delicacy – a beautiful red of classic proportions, beautiful head, femine but strong, and good reach of neck. Flowed from front to rear with correct angulation at each end. Shoulders just right , well enough off for bone and moved with purpose and activity. B.B.
2nd Melbourne, Carroll and Melbourne’s Stargang Glimmer at Melriding- black and tan I liked as a puppy and still do.She has a glorious head and also a well proportioned flowing outline, but just a shade shorter in upper arm. Also moved out correctly and it was a close decision. R.B.B.
3rd Kent’s Lokmadi Hidden Dragon
