Thank you to exhibitors for their entry, points I think worth mentioning that a few bitches had a short keel & a tuck-up to their underlines, there was a distinct lack of width to fronts & the bitches were stronger than the dogs.
PD (5,2a) 1 Kent’s Lokmadi Bowetts Testarosso, won this class on his typy head properties & overall shape. Quality head with good balance & expression. Best shoulder placement, strong in topline. Moved with good width to hindquarters. Needs to develop in thorax but at 8 months has time. He eventually won the CC on his type & profile movement, reminded me very much of a little chap I once had from the Merryweather kennel; 2 Tite’s Magik Rainbow Lowrider at Rijobeau, nice head type but not as strong in foreface as 1. Would like more reach of neck & more layback of shoulder. Lighter build than 1 & overall good proportions. Moved with good width; 3 Luke’s Lokmadi Frederick. JD (4,2) 1 Thomson’s Stargang Finch von Zilveraat, balanced head with more defined stop, clean skull. Good bone substance down to feet. Well matured body, nicely shaped rib, strong through loin & topline. Moved with good drive but needs more width to thorax; 2 Barrett’s Star’s Tori Great Joy at Ayseebee, shorter coupled & strong in topline but for me not as strong in head type, shoulder & bone. Moved quite nicely. PGD (3) 1 Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall, a good honest Dachshund with no frills. Lovely substance & strength throughout of good proportions. Nicely angulated front, still needs to develop a little in thorax. Solid ribbing & good length of loin. Moved well, in challenge just lacked that extra sparkle; 2 S Finch von Z; 3 Cumberland’s Mumysami Run Forrest Run. LD (4) 1 Williams’ Wilmerella Wells Fargo, typy dog of good balance, best mover in class. Not overdone in thorax, good reach of neck & shoulder placement. Good topline into hindquarters. Would like more bone substance through legs down to the ground. RCC; 2 Russell’s Stargang Tyrion Russteck, not really my type at all but of good proportions. Strong head & jaw. Good shaped thorax & front movement. Well bodied with strong topline but lacked hindquarter strength going away; 3 Laidlaw’s Russteck Figgy Duff. OD (2) 1 Protheroe’s Royalmaple Anky Panky, strong type of head with good eye & skull shape, lacks underjaw. Well proportioned overall with good front angulation, threw front slightly coming back to me. Good fill in of thorax & well shaped body. In challenge not as scopy as the top winners; 2 Barrett’s Ch Ayseebee Rumour Has It, disappointing today as I have recently like him very much. He looked very hollow through his body & this made him look long & with a squareness to his rump. Quality type & has great presence in profile movement. VD (1) 1 Kent’s Ch Barratini Jeeves at Lokmadi, smart chap of good type who’s done it all before! Lovely shape with good reach of neck & shoulder & thorax width & keel. Broad hindquarters, moved nicely.
PB (10,1) 1 Dyer & Oddie’s Riowood Tiger Socks, clear winner, not my type as for me lacks a depth of type but couldn’t deny shape & overall construction. Well ribbed, good depth to keel & underline. Moved soundly; 2 Kay’s Lochlip I Believe In Magic, baby but I liked her type very much. She is stylish & needs time to come together. Lovely shape & moved with good width; 3 House’s Gleadsbury Rumour Has It. JB (6,1) 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Juanita, feminine head with lovely expression & shape. Shows quality of type through her shapely body. Well constructed with good bone & feet. Best body shape, lovely depth to keel, carried through underline. Moved soundest of all entry. CC & BOB; 2 Shutt’s Donnadoon Dreamdust, has a slightly unbalanced head with rounder shaped eye. Narrow through body but in profile, good shape; 3 Price’s Samlane Desdemona. PGB (9,2) 1 Kay’s Lochlip I Cast A Spell On You, smart bitch liked her overall shape & construction. Good reach of neck & shoulder construction. Good underline matching a strong well muscled topline. Moved well; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Daydream Believer, different type of head to 1, similar in movement but thought she just lacked a little maturity to body. However, she has good body shaping & she moved well in profile; 3 Cumberland’s Mumysami Miss Solitaire. LB (4) 1 Russell’s Russteck Plum Duff, won here on her typical shape & overall substance. Typy head & nicely made with good front angulation. Deep enough in keel, mature body with good strength through to hindquarters. Surprised me on the move as she narrowed her front & had looked better on the table than stacked later in challenge; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Dancing Queen, lighter build & good head type but not as strong in foreface. Lovely shape again & well coupled. Moved with good width just would have like a bit more attitude; 3 Cumberland’s Whirlygig Wottatodoo at Mumysami. OB (2) 1 Kent’s Lokmadi Goodnight Irene, well balanced feminine head with good underjaw. Well shaped front & good front construction, would just like a tad more ground clearance. Well sprung rib of good strength through to hindquarters. Moved soundly with good drive. RCC; 2 Williams’ Ch Manacas Amber Cover at Wilmerella, lighter build & would like more strength of foreface. Nicely balanced with good depth of keel & body length. Broad hindquarters, not quite so positive in hind movement as 1.
