Thank you to Windsor Championship show for inviting me to judge and to all those who entered. On the whole the entry I had was in good condition. There were a few overweight specimens but most were clearly carrying a little extra weight rather than too large. However, there were a lot of dogs which had not been bathed or their teeth cleaned in a long while, it is a dog show where these things are checked so why people would not pamper their dogs beforehand baffled me? I found short ribbing and knots in tails is an increasing problem in the younger classes. Also there were quite a few dogs with very deep chests and ribbing which was short and cut up steeply.
Veteran Dog/Bitch (1,0)
1st Kent’s Ch Barratini Jeeves At Lokmadi JW. 9 year old male. Nice head and length of neck, nice outline on the stack, well angulated rear quarters. A little stiff on the move today.
Minor Puppy Dog (4,0)
1st Paget & Carroll’s Marvale Up With The Lark. Very elegant boy of 7 months. Still has a lot of maturing to do but showed his worth on the move. Good head and length of neck, well angulated fore quarters with good length of upper arm with balanced rear quarters. True movement fore and aft and excelled in side gait. Definitely made his owner work for his awards but shows personality at this tender age. BP & RDCC and shortlisted in the Puppy Group.
2nd Burton’s Swingletrees Warpaint. Shaded red of 8 months. Good head and length of neck, good topline on the move and stack. Balanced fore and rear quarters. Moved well. A little deep in thorax for my liking but a nice all-round puppy.
3rd Kent’s Lokmadi Bowetts Testarosso
Puppy Dog (5,0)
1st Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Barracuda. Shaded red of 9 months. Lovely head and reach of neck, good pro-sternum and depth through ribs. Well angulated and balanced fore and rear quarters. Needs a little more time to muscle and mature.
2nd Hughes’ Clentry Coppa Glow To Julidachs. Nice head and reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and length of upper arm. Nice size pro-sternum and topline. Not as well balanced in the rear as 1.
3rd Burton Swingletrees Warpaint
Junior Dog (2,0)
1st Melbourne & Holdsworth’s Ambreglo Storm to Melriding. Black and tan of 14 months. Nice head and firm topline. Balanced fore and rear quarters but would prefer a little more length in upper arm and second thigh which would allow more reach and drive on the move.
2nd Dunhill’s Gellijams Parker. Nice head and neck. Shoulder placement a little forward and upright, tended to lose his topline. Lacking in angulation fore and rear. Good ribbing, moved well.
Post Graduate Dog (3,0)
1st Barrett’s Star’s Tori Great Joy at Ayseebee (Imp). 15 month old brindle. Well-developed fore chest, good underline and topline. Forequarters well made with good length of upper arm with balanced rear quarters. Nice on the move.
2nd Startup’s Curtisey Head Gardener. Good head and length of neck, good lay of shoulder, nicely angulated rear quarters. A little deep in chest for my preference but nicely made.
3rd Ball’s Barisse Grimaldi
Limit Dog (3,0)
1st Bourne’s Yaapeet Rafferty. Neat dog with decent head and neck. Nice topline on the stack. Would prefer more length of upper arm to balance with the rear quarters, a little short stepping in front.
2nd Rudkin’s Dynastydax Secret Agent. Larger type of dog with nicely angulated rear which he used well on the move. Would prefer more length in upper arm and better lay of shoulder.
3rd Ball’s Barisse Grimaldi
Open Dog (7,1)
Very strong class with huge variation of type.
1st Barrett’s Ch Ayseebee Rumour Has It. Won the class on his movement. Nice head and reach of neck, well made and balanced fore and rear quarters, lovely outline at all times. Moved with reach and drive and very true fore and aft. DCC.
2nd Ergis’ Ch Siouxline Aaron JW. Nice neat dog with lovely head and fore chest. Would prefer a little more length in shoulder blade and upper arm to enable him to reach better in front. Good firm topline and nice underline. Moved with drive from his well angulated rear but just a touch narrower than 1 on the day.
3rd Blackburn’s Stargand Tiger Feet
Minor Puppy Bitch (5,1)
1st Hicks’ Phoenie’s Moonlight Sonata. Lovely elegant black and tan brindle bitch. Beautiful head and reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Well balanced rear. When she settled into herself she excelled in movement with lovely reach and drive.
2nd Blackburn’s Stargang Simply The Best. Good head and reach of neck with good firm topline. Well bodied with good ribbing. Lovely quarters which she used well on the move.
3rd Hicks’ Phoenie’s Lacrimosa Requiem
Puppy Bitch (8,1)
1st Hicks’ Phoenie’s Moonlight Sonata.
2nd Burke & Manston’s Radclyffe Acantus. Lovely shaded red bitch who caught my eye when she came into the ring. Nice head and neck, well made and balanced fore and rear quarters. Moved well with reach and drive. Needs to mature to muscle up her topline and tighten in front but time is certainly on her side.
3rd Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Mary Rose.
Junior Bitch (11,2)
1st Price’s Samlane Desdemona. Neat balanced red bitch. Nice head and reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder with firm topline. Balanced front and rear quarters. Moved well.
2nd Merry’s Isabella Made For Merryline. Nice bitch, good head and well developed pro-sternum. A little deep in the chest for my liking. Well made rear quarters which she used on the move. Carrying a little too much weight today.
3rd Bullis’ Amaffrey La Vie En Rose
Yearling Bitch (7,0)
1st Ergis’ Siouxline Esther Rose. Lovely neat red bitch. Good head and forechest. Lovely lay of shoulder and return of upper arm with nicely angulated and balanced rear quarters. Firm topline and good underline. Moved well.
2nd Bullis’ Goodtry Ruby Tuesday At Amaffrey. Neat bitch with well-proportioned head and neck. Well made front and rear quarters. Lovely little mover but not in the condition of 1, just need to muscle up a little.
3rd Tryhorn’s Moragden Moonstruck
Post Graduate Bitch (5,1)
1st Blackburn-Bennett Stargang Cherry Berry. Elegant shaded red bitch. Lovely head and reach of neck, flowing into a correct lay of shoulder with well angulated fore quarters. Good firm topline and correct underline. Balanced, well angulated rear. Excelled in movement with lovely reach and drive. CC, BOB & shortlisted in the Group.
2nd Bourne’s Yaapeet Esme May. Nice neat red bitch. Good head and length of neck, well made fore and rear quarters. Would prefer a touch more length in upper arm and second thigh but well balanced bitch. Looked well on the move.
3rd Lewis’ Ardenrun Maid Of The Weald
Limit Bitch (7,1)
1st Kent’s Lokmadi On Silent Wings. Clear red bitch which looked lovely in profile. Good head and neck, nice firm topline. Good lay of shoulder and well angulated rear quarters. Moved with reach and drive but her underline spoilt her profile.
2nd Hughes’ Siouxline Tiana At Julidachs. Nice neat bitch. Well-developed prosternum and good firm topline. Well angulated and balanced fore and rear quarters. Moved well. Just carrying a little too much weight for me.
3rd Merry’s Merryline Polly Pumpkin
Open Bitch (3,1)
1st Ergis’ Ch Siouxline Rapunzel With Melriding. Nice head and neck, well angulated fore and rear quarters. Looked well on the move. Would prefer a better lay of shoulder.
2nd Witheld
