Dachshund (Miniature Smooth)

I would like to thank Belfast DSS for inviting me to judge Dachshunds for the first time. To all the exhibitors both from the mainland and Ireland for making the effort and considerable expense to allow me to go over your dogs. I had several messages of support from exhibitors who for different reasons were unable to make the trip . I was also subjected to several messages usually second or third hand from people well known in the breed who did not value my honest opinion that's their choice but if your not there you can't win .
Such a shame so much jealousy in this breed
I was very pleased with my entry the best numbers at Belfast for a few years.
Junior Dog 3 ent 1 abs
1. Mrs F Mitchell's.  Baronial Biaggio  13 months of age , quality dog, of correct size, super head and length of neck good topline which he carried well on the move, good movement RDCC
2  Mrs S Jamison   Rufus Del Tolkeyen at Smarfdac .  Well up on size, not a bad front construction , moved true up and back
Graduate Dog  2 ent 0 abs
1. Cumberlands. Mumysami Clicalicious for Yorami.  21 months of age, good head and forechest, well muscled, true movement.
2. Shuts. Melriding Captain Cook of Donnadoon,  16 months of age, correct head shape with nice eye, good front movement , not the best of top lines .
Limit Dog. 1 ent
Ms B Morrisons.  Benzden Le Male,   Nearly 2 years of age, good forechest , reasonable front construction , Not the best of movement,
Open Dog. 3 ent 0 abs
1. Mrs J E Midgley   CH Jemdach Black Onyx,    4 years of age , very nice Black and Tan ,really good shape standing, correct head and eye, well constructed front and rear which shows up on the move with good front extension and very good topline. DCC
2. Blackburn - Bennett.  Stargang Barracuda.  Just over 2 years of age, another well constructed dog, very good on the move , good muscling
3. Halls. Magic Rainbow Spartak of Dunraggit Jun Ch .
Puppy Bitch. 3 ent 0 abs
1. Midgley.   Jemdach Mystic Quartz. Nice puppy just 10 months of age from same kennel as my dog CC winner, Black and Tan with a lovely head shape, good length of neck , well constructed front and rear, with correct top line , moved true, BPIB
2. Rudkins.  Keydax Layla for Dynastydax JW ,  11 months of age, not as well matured as class winner, good shape , carried topline well on the move, true movement up and back, more continental type longer in leg than winner
3. Jones.  Carlita Sea Flower.

1. Shutt.   Donnadoon Carolina Moon,  just 12 months of age, good length to neck , plenty of forechest, steady movement,
Limit Bitch. 4 ent 0 abs
1. Rudkins.  Dynastydax Periwinkle JW ,  2 1/2 years of age, very nice bitch , super headand length to neck, good shoulder and forechest, good topline , moved well with good front extension , strongly considered for reserve ticket,
2. Cumberlands.  Mumysami Clickety Clic for Yorami,  nearly 2 years of age, good shape with good topline , moved true up and back
3. Mitchell's.  Baronial Ygeila Graziella
Open Bitch 5 ent 0 abs
1. Williams and Moes.  Cwmdarhian Prty Lika Rushn . 15 months of age, Super Bitch great head shape with length of neck, well constructed front and rear, lovely top line which is held on the move , plenty of extension and drive on the move , delighted to award her 3rd and crowning ticket today and really pleased to watch her make short list in strong hound Group BCC and BOB
2. Blackburn - Bennett.  Ch Stargang Cherry Berry, just over 2 years of age, top quality Bitch from this successful kennel, nice size, well constructed another good mover, RCC
3. Rudkins. Dynastydax Tiger Lilly
