Driffield 2018 -Miniature Smooth Haired

Pigmentation seems to be a big problem. Red with pink eye rims and light nails which is not attractive. Temperaments were very mixed a majority were ok but we had a few that were terrified. Quality is very mixed as are types it is hard to get line ups of the same type.

MPD 1 Lombardelli's Kelmbeck Sydney, smart red who is very much a baby. Good head and eye well placed shoulders, keeps a pleasing outline, moved and showed well.

JD 1 Mitchell's Bronia Biaggio, smart black and tan not in the best of coats, pleasing head with a superb eye, well filled front, well ribbed super quarters, moved out well keeping a good outline. For me I would like a little more ground clearance to finish the picture. 2 Melbourne, Paget & Carroll's Marvale In Cahoots With Melriding, smart red of different type to winner, not quite the front assembly of the winner, classic head, moved out well, covered the ground with ease. 3 Stephen's Bedu Stars And Stripes.

PGD 1 Blackburn's Stargang Sea Bird, smart red who looks a picture stacked. Had the best outline in this class, had well angulated quarters but for me I would like better feet. 2 Shutt's Melriding Captain Cook of Donnadoon, brindle boy who looks better stacked than on the move, preferred the outline of winner today. 3 Jennings' Duddondaxs Judge Jude.

LD 1 Ergis' Siouxline Jacob JW, smart red who I have often admired sired by my BOB, winner last time, masculine head well arched neck, well filled front, keeps a good outline on the move, covered the ground with ease RDCC. 2 Scott's Danton Mr Brown at Wolferlow, smart chocolate and tan, pleasing head and neck, moved out well, would like to see him carrying a little less weight to finish the picture. Well handled to get the best out of him. 3 Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Barracuda.

OD 1 Scott's Wolferlow Will Scarlet JW, very smart black and tan who looks good when viewed from any angle, classic head, well arched neck, well filled front, well placed shoulders, super topline that he keeps at all times, he has a great underline, moved around the ring like a stallion hound using his hindquarters to advantage, pleased to award him DCC BOB his 2nd, congratulations.

SBD 1 Jennings' Duddondaxs Judge Jude, enjoying his day out, not positive enough for me on the move. MPB 1 Fossett's Lokmadi Peggy Sue for Brysdax, smart red bitch, best mover in the class, classic head with well filled front super shoulders, well sprung ribs, moved out well keeping a good outline, well handled to get the best out of her, pleased to award her BP. 2 Morris & Waddell's Bronia Sancia, a smart black and tan bitch, not co-operative toda,y she has a well filled front, she looks better stacked than on the move today. 3 Whyte's Dachienne A Sky Full Of Stars.

PB A difficult class to judge as all were different types. 1 Oxley's Dinkidax India Spice, a smart black and tan bitch, liked her height to length ratio, sweet head and expression has a lovely top and underline, lovely quarters, moved with purpose. 2 Rudkin's Keydax Layla For Dynastydax JW, taller type than winner, she has a well filled front but I found her a little long in the back. I preferred the underline of my winner which spoilt her in profile today, perhaps more weight would finish the picture. 3 Dear's Moragden Dizzy Lizzy At Onadaire.

JB 1 Kerry's Kireton Hebe, smart black and tan who looked a picture at all times, she has a classic head, well arched neck, super well filled front, super angulated shoulders, excellent top and underline, covered the ground with ease using her quarters, well handled to get the best out of her RBCC. 2 Kent's Lokmadi Magic Dragon, smaller clear red of quality. Not liking the cold today, she has a lovely front, moved out well. 3 Dunhill's Shantallah Shady Lady At Gellijam.

PGB 1 Herrington's Kathington Just By Chance JW, smart red had the best outline in this class, sweet head and expression, well filled front moved out ok, well handled to get the best out of her. 2 Nicol's Chillis Sweet Girl, clear red puppy, sweet head and expression, good hindquarters, needs to settle on the move. 3 Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Mary Rose.

LB 1 Kerry's Kireton Cici, smart black and tan of super type. Lovely head and expression, well filled front, super shoulders, had super hindquarters, kept a classic outline at all times, well handled to get the best out of her. 2 Scott's Wolferlow Blackberry Pie, another top quality bitch, she has lots to like about her, very similar to my winner but today her underline just spoilt the picture. 3 Blackburn's Stargang Simply The Best.

OB 1 Kent's Lokmadi On Silent Wings JW, red built on classic lines, she has a super head piece with lovely expression on a well arched neck, well filled front, correct front assembly, excellent shoulder placement, good spring of rib, she has well angulated quarters that gave her verve on the move, she kept a classic outline at all times. Pleased to award her the CC her 3rd so is now a Champion, congratulations. 2 Melbourne, Paget & Carroll's Garthorne Olivia Grace Of Melriding, petite black and tan, not the head of the winner but has a sweet expression, a little full in eye, well filled front, well angulated quarters, for me I would like more stride on the move pressed hard for the RCC. 3 Ergis' Ch Siouxline Rapunzel With Melriding.
