Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-haired)

Thanks to the Society for the opportunity to officiate at this very well run show. The hospitality offered was excellent and the friendship from the Committee and others working hard on the day was much appreciated. Thanks also to my stewards for the assistance given to me. Lastly thanks to the exhibitors for allowing me to go over their dogs. 

PD (2, 1) 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Paolo. Masculine puppy of nice type and quality. Nice head and nice expression. Nice to go over, well put together and standing looking balanced for age. Nice for size and substance. Lost his shape on the move but just a baby, this will improve with time, very promising. BPD. 

JD (2, 1) 1 Shutt’s Donnadoon Dusk Till Dawn. Pleasing head and expression. Type and quality ok. Slightly long cast in body. Raw at the moment and needs to settle in movement which was unsettled and high stepping. Showed drive from rear. Clean coming towards me but close away today. Still young can settle with time. 

LD (3) 1 Jamison’s Rufus Del Tolkeyen At Smartdac. Really lovely and of good type. Masculine head and good expression.  Best of fronts and balanced hind angles. Firm topline held standing and moving. Firm body. Balanced look throughout, good height to length ratio. He moved out easily and well in all directions. Covered the ground so easily. Should have bright future. Dog CC. 2 Cumberland’s Mumysami Clicalicious For Yorami JW. Not as masculine as first and cast in smaller frame and not the substance. Head ok slightly weak in foreface. Very well trained he moved out well, in all directions, things to like about him. 3 Shutt’s Melriding Captain Cook Of Donnadoon. 

OD (2, 1) 1 Hall’s Magic Rainbow Spartak Of Dunraggit Jun Ch. Masculine of nice type and quality. Up to size but a very balanced look to him not too close to ground. Correct substance for size. Very sound in all directions and covered the ground really easily in profile which won him this class. RDCC. 2 Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Biaggio. Nice masculine head and lovely expression. Very nice type and quality but lower to ground than first, standing and moving.  Otherwise very nicely made throughout with lots to like about him quality dog. Very sound fore and aft, but today could not match the ground covering profile movement of first. 3 Midgley’s Ir Ch/Int Ch Jemdach  Black Onyx. 

PB (2) 1 Weir’s Ambreglo Ember. Lovely quality and of very good type, nice for size, Raw at the moment and needs to body with time. Feminine head and pleasing expression. Lots to like with balanced look overall. Nicely put together. Topline good standing and held moving. Her movement on the day won her BPB & BPIB. 2 Cumberland’s Mumysami Here We Go Again. Good for quality. Head has slightly weak underjaw and she was nervous on the day so spoiling her expression, but just a baby and will settle with time. More substance than first and more body. Outline overall she has things to like. She moved out well round the ring. 

JB (2) 1 Dyer & Oddie’s Riowood Rumba To Sharnphilly. Lovely quality and of very good type, nice for size. Feminine head and expression. Lots to like with balanced look throughout. Nicely put together. Topline good standing and moving. Good height to length ratio and good clearance to ground. Her movement was excellent in all directions covered ground easily in profile. Very close up to CC winner. Pleased to award her the RCC. 2 Weir’s  Ambreglo Ember. 

LB (7, 1) 1 Russell’s Russteck Tea Cake. Lovely quality and of very good type, lovely for size. Very feminine head and expression. Nice angles fore and aft. Slightly long cast but with lots to like as nicely put together. Topline good standing and moving. Clearance to ground good. Her movement was good in all directions covered ground easily in profile. Very close up to principal winners not a lot in it. 2 Mitchell’s Bronia Bellezza.  Similar remarks to first apply again, very nice for type and quality with lots to like. Pleasing head and expression. Nice angles fore and aft. Firm topline standing and moving. Better in length of body than first. Moved out soundly away and back but not as ground covering in profile as the winner off the class today. 3 Morris & Waddel’s Bronia Angioletta. 

OB (7, 2) 1 Midgley’s Ir Ch Jemdach Mystic Quartz.  Super type and quality. Very feminine head and lovely expression. Good angles fore and aft. Firm topline held standing and moving. Correct ground clearance. Moved very soundly away and back and her profile movement was excellent could have watched her all day. In the challenge it was close but on having another look at her and her competitors for me there was nothing to match on the day as her movement was so free and ground covering. Pleased to award her CC & BOB. 2 Hall’s Magik Rainbow Aquarelle To Dunraggit. Very nice for quality and type lots to like. Pleasing head and nice expression. Again, nicely made throughout casting a nice outline standing and moving. Moved out soundly and well in all directions, lots to like. Profile movement was very good. 3 Oddie’s Riowood Tiger Socks.
