Unfortunately due to Storm Ciara there were 56 absentees from an entry of 102.
Such a shame ...most were our Northern exhibitors where the storm appeared to be at its worst.   Thank you to those who braved the elements to attend and the sporting way in which you accepted my decisions. Disappointingly I found several with loose elbows and incorrect ratio between ribs & loin. Baiting on the table seems to be creeping in......this makes it difficult to assess the dog when it's moving around looking for food.

Veteran Dog (1)
1.   Daykin's CH. BARRATINI JONNY CASH.   This boy is carrying his age well...his head is masculine but without coarseness, good reach of neck & well laid shoulders, tight elbow with a neat well filled front, excellent ribbing carried back, level topline, adequate hind angulation, his overall movement is still good but he is now a little close behind. However I thought he was worthy of the RESERVE  CC for his many qualities.

2.   Minor Puppy Dog (7,3a)
1.   Daykin's CARPACCIO JACK JONES AT BARRATINI.  Nicely grown puppy with good bone, balanced head with correct eye shape & ear placement,  good reach of neck, his shoulder placement is quite good but a little more length of upper arm would be to advantage, tight elbows, when he relaxes his topline it is firm & level, excellent ribbing carried well back, good turn of stifle. Moved soundly with drive.  BEST PUPPY DOG.
2.   Charlesworth's KEYDAX PETER PAN.  Promising puppy in a smaller mould, he has a balanced outline with a strong topline, lovely head & expression, sound front assembly with correct angulation of shoulder & upper arm, tight elbows, smooth long ribbing, well bent stifles, moved true fore & aft, just needs to grow on a little.
3.   Strange's STARGANG MAGIC ALFIE MOON.

Puppy Dog (7,5a)
1.   CARPACCIO JACK JONES AT BARRATINI.
2.   Charlesworth's KEYDAX ORINOCO.  Balanced head with correct eye shape, nice expression, good reach of neck, rather narrow in front at present both stacked & on the move, his topline is good & firm, ribbing is too short compared with length of back, nice hind angulation & stood true on the table, he held his outline on the move, needs a little more confidence.

Junior Dog (4,2a)
1.   Reed's DEERCOFT DREAMCHASER. This is a nice young man with a lovely outline both stacked & on the move, correct head shape of masculine appearance, neat front with tight elbows, good pro-sternum, excellent ribbing carried well back, short loin, strong level backline, well turned stifles, moved well with drive.
2.   Scoins' HAYVENHUND BRAVEH'ART.  Masculine head of correct proportions, little round in eye, good length of neck, elbows could be tighter, his topline is fairly good but his rib & loin ratio is incorrect, sound hindquarters, he needs to drop through, moved happily & showed well.

Yearling Dog (4,2a)
1.   Wheatcroft's SAMLANE HENRY KING.  Red male of reasonable proportions, good head & expression, firm topline with ribbing carried well back, sufficient turn of stifle, preferred his front over 1, he was a little difficult to assess on the table but moved fairly well.
2.   HAYVENHUND BRAVEH'ART.

Post Graduate Dog (2,1a)
1.   Robertson's AYSEEBEE LOOK WHO'S TALKING TO RAVENSWOOD.  Nicely balanced little dog, good head shape but a little round in eye, neat front with sufficient pro-sternum, good feet, good body proportions with ribbing carried well back & short loin, well bent stifles, he moved true fore & aft.

Limit Dog (9,5a)
1.   Charlesworth's KEYDAX LEROY.  Today this boy, in my opinion, was the best male here, he had everything I was looking for. .....masculine head with correct eye shape & ear placement, good reach of neck, super forehand with tight elbows & pronounced sternum, long smooth ribbing carried back, short loin, firm topline, good turn of stifle, he stacked true and his movement fore & aft was totally parallel, he maintained a balanced outline at all times.  Pleased to award him the DOG CC.
2.   Starkey's CARPACCIO BLACK OBSIDIAN FOR HAMOURA.  Nice B/T in fine form, well proportioned head, sound front with good depth of keel & ribbing that follows through, good feet & hind angulation, he has positive front movement & good side gait, in lovely condition, preferred hind movement of 1.
3.   Williams' WILMERELLA GO WEST.

Open Dog (1,6a)
1.   Scott's WOLFERLOW WILL SCARLET JW.  Typical head with good eye shape, good length of neck & back with strong topline, prominent forechest, neat front, ribbing carried back, sufficient bend of stifle, balanced outline, would prefer more positive hind movement.

Veteran Bitch (4,2a)
1.   Cross' STARGANG SANSA. Pretty 9 yr. old lady still moving like a 2 yr.old & very full of her own importance, sound front assembly with good ribbing & firm backline, moving true fore & aft & really enjoying her day out.
2.   Boyce' LOKMADI PRETTY FLAMINGO AT HOLLYGOR.  I also liked this 8yr.old, unlucky to meet 1,  lovely type, she has an excellent forehand & ribbing, not quite so free in her hind movement as 1 but a sweet old lady.

Minor Puppy Bitch (11,4a)
1.   Carey's MYSTERY MAIDEN FOR DEBBIEJAY.  Liked this baby for her overall balance & breed type, lovely head & expression, excellent body proportions with good depth throughout, neat front, correct ratio of rib & loin, sound quarters, she moved true fore & aft and showed well.
2.   Hicks' PHOENIE'S CAPRICCO.  Promising 6 month baby in a smaller mould, good head shape, adequate neck length leading into sound front assembly, ribbing carried back, short loin, good turn of stifle, positive movement in both directions, sweet baby.
3.   Charlesworth's KEYDAX PENNIES FROM HEAVEN.

Puppy Bitch (5,1a)
1.   Mills-Jones CARLITA WELSH PRINCESS.   What a poppet! I thought this young bitch was gorgeous, she has so much promise, lovely head & eye, correct ear placement, long neck with good shoulders & length of upper arm, sound front, good length & depth of ribbing, well turned stifles, she stacked true on the table and moved in the same way maintaining a balanced outline.  BEST PUPPY.
2.   Beer's STARGANG CANDY STRIPES AT LOWRIDER.  Another promising puppy, I would like to see less baiting on the table as she was a little difficult to assess but she has quality & soundness with good overall balance, attractive head, nice expression, sound forehand & quarters, good body proportions, moved true with drive.
3.   Rose ARDENRUN FOOLISH WHISPER. Completed a trio of promising babies.

Junior Bitch (7,4a)
1.   Metcalfe-Bilgin's METADALE LEGACY TO THE LARK.  Beautiful red girl that I absolutely loved, very much the type that I like, correct in all departments from her lovely head to her super quarters, she oozes quality & a super profile, such a lovely feminine expression, good reach of neck into well laid shoulder & good length of upper arm, perfect rib to loin ratio, she stacked true and moved true, her positive movement just added to her beauty. I had no hesitation in awarding her the BITCH CC & BOB.  So pleased to see her go on to BEST IN SHOW.
2.   Herald's MONTONE OUR LADY FAITH AT WINTERFIELD. Quite a nice girl with correct head & eye, sufficient pro-sternum with good brisket & ribbing carried through, sound quarters, when she relaxed her topline was good and she maintained a balanced outline on the move.
3.   Robertson's RAVENWOOD TICKETY BOO.

Yearling Bitch (10,5a)
1.   Blackburn's STARGANG DESERT ORCHID.  Quality bitch with lovely head shape, correct eye & ear carriage, good reach of neck, quite low to ground with deep brisket & ribbing which was smooth & carried back, well turned stiles, firm topline, she moved well, just a tad wide behind but she maintained a balanced outline.
2.   Pearmain & Sherwood's DELANDMAR GRETA GARBO JW.  Feminine B/T girl, sound even front, good pro-sternum and depth & length of rib, nice feet, lovely profile stacked, stood true fore & aft, moved soundly with positive action.
3.   Taylor's TRAGEEDA TEA BAG.

Post Grad Bitch (13,8a)
1.   Hicks' NET NARIN LIMITED EDITION AT PHOENIE.  Attractive light brindle bitch with a nice outline & overall balance, good head & eye shape, neat forehand with tight elbows, correct rib & loin ratio, well bent stifles, she could do with a little more confidence but her sound positive movement won her the class.
2.   Kilroy's JANACOP MAGGIE MAY.  Smaller type but quite sound in all departments, correct front assembly with long smooth ribbing carried back & short loin, good hind angulation, she moved true fore & aft & showed well.
3.   TRAGEEDA TEA BAG.

Limit Bitch (12,8a)
1.   Scott's WOLFERLOW BLACKBERRY PIE. Elegant B/T bitch with lovely head & expression, excellent length of neck, back & ribbing, sound forehand with good depth of keel, tight elbows, strong topline, well angled quarters, she moved parallel fore & aft with good side gait.
2.   Dunhill's SHANTALLAH SHADY LADY AT GELLIJAM.  Liked her type & overall balance, correct head proportions with lovely expression, neat front with tight elbows & sufficient pro-sternum, well ribbed, sound hindquarters, good movement maintaining a nice outline.
3.   Thompson' WILMERELLA RED VELVET ORAYSHA.

Open Bitch (7,5a)
1.   Hunt's CARPACCIO CLARICE CLIFF JW.  Lovely B/T girl full of quality, feminine head of correct shape with nice expression, well placed shoulders, neat well filled front with tight elbows, good depth of keel & ribbing which was carried back, short loin, well turned stifles, short hocks, she has parallel action and maintained a balanced outline. RESERVE CC.
2.   Williams' WILMERELLA MOULIN ROUGE.  Attractive bitch with lovely & head & expression, good reach of neck, sound front assembly, good length & depth of ribbing, stacked true and moved freely with drive, preferred hind angulation of 1.
