My thanks to Leeds and the Committee for their very kind invitation, and to my two stewards, Andrea and Tony who managed to keep all the paperwork on the table in the strong winds! My overall impression was that this was a quality entry of lovely examples of the breed making some decisions hard however there can only be two final winners and I was more than happy with both; my thanks to all the exhibitors for entering. Being first in the ring it was quite cool & there was a strong wind which did unsettle quite a few being shown so well done to everyone for dealing so well with the weather.

PD (4 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Bullis’s Amaffrey Jessie James nicely put together youngster with good balance all through, like his proportions. Very good conical head & dark well shaped eye, good shoulder placement & depth of brisket, forechest & ribcage good & he had a nicely level backline. Forearm, pasterns & feet good, nicely rounded rump, using his attributes well moving with good driving action. 2nd Metcalfe-Bilgin’s Metadale Due Diligence, red of very nice type, classic head shape, overall balance & size was good, preference angulation & prosternum of winner, moving well with good action. 3rd Jennings Melriding Boris Pasternak

JD (4 Entries) Abs: 1 1st Jennings Marvale Northern Cardinal at Jenivon, red with refined yet masculine head & good eye, neck of good length, appealed for forechest, clean across withers, good hindquarters, was slightly loose in his movement but drove well from behind. 2nd Mackenzie’s Stargang Bob Cat red of slightly more compact appearance, lovely clean head, good neck & front, good feet and excellent forechest, preference for a cleaner topline however this may have been due to being really unsettled due to the windy conditions which was a pity, promising. 3rd Shutt’s Debbiejay Chasing Dreams for Donnadoon

PGD (6 Entries) Abs: 1 1st Francis’s Stargang Hay Bob at Feebrick lovely balanced red male handled well, lovely balance to his head & just the right amount of stop, good strong neck lovely clean shoulders, good forechest & length of ribbing, good keel & underline nicely rounded rump & angled hindquarters, tail set well, very sound on the move, was a little unsettled but again the weather conditions were not helping, well deserved his class. 2nd Dalton’s Llansansiors Mr Cinnaman very showy red, masculine in head & good foreface with strong jaw, preferred proportions of length to height ratio of 1 and would prefer slightly better angulation, level back & short strong loin, handled very well but was a bit loose moving across the ground. 3rd Jennings Marvale A Royal Affair

LD (5 Entries) Abs: 1 1st Mason’s Teckeltown Master Piece JW very attractive red heading this nice class, balance to conical head is good & dark oval eye, ears well set, strong in neck, clean shoulder line, good forechest, good front & feet, nice short black nails, classic looking dog with many breed essentials and really takes the eye, moving very well with good purpose, wellmuscled, pleased to award him Res.CC 2nd Coxon’s D'Arisca Drives A Daimler, lovely quality looking bl/tan who had a pleasing outline all through, very good in forechest & ribbing, good underline, slightly full in eye for me and another who was unsettled in the windy conditions on the move, however he is a lovely example. 3rd Jennings Duddondaxs Judge Jude

OD (7 Entries) Abs: 0 Strong class of quality dogs. 1st Moes & Williams Ch Cwmdarhian Jesse James text book classic well-proportioned red that just demands attention, just loved him. Unquestionable balance & good construction throughout, excellent muscular condition, extending well and moves across the ground with ease & purpose with good action; Dog CC & BOB. 2nd Paget & Carroll’s Riowood Black Jack lovely type bl/tan, lean strong head & dark oval eye, strong jaw, scissor bite, strong neck & clean well placed shoulder, prominent prosternum, strong front, brisket good as well as underline, strong rump & nicely angled hindquarters, purposeful mover used his rear quarters very well, nice thick pads showing. 3rd Ergis’s Ch Siouxline Jacob JW

VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Fossett’s Lokmadi A Boy Named Sue JW Sh.CM bl/tan unfortunately alone in this class however he is a super example and has a lovely equally balanced head good expression & dark eye, overall well-constructed with very good backline and underline for his 9 years, really liked this one, moving very soundly, quality exhibit.

SBD/B (3 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Herald’s Winterfield’s June of Arabia showy bl/tan with some appeal, feminine head, dark eye, would benefit from better return of upper arm & more forechest, had a good backline which was level, gleaming coat, nicely angled quarters and strode out really well. 2nd Harrison’s Harridachs Cherry Blossom, attractive looking red and preferred the construction of this one who really wouldn’t move at all & was uncooperative, another who really didn’t like the windy conditions or bumpy ground.

PB (13 Entries) Abs: 3 1st: Paget, Carroll & Melbou’s Marvale's Austerlitz super red puppy and very much my cup of tea, feminine with lean balanced conical head, good eye shape and colour, lovely outline & very nicely constructed, excellent shoulders, prosternum, elbows held tightly, rear nicely angled & rounded rump, moving well here. Best Puppy 2nd Edmondson’s Shantallah Secret Affair shaded red and my preference was for the head of 1, however this one was so well constructed and felt good underhand, again clean shoulder, good prosternum, front & rear well angled, could do with a bit more confidence but she moved well enough and soundly here to take this place in this lovely class of youngsters. 3rd Jenning’s Jenivon's Queen Bee

JB (9 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: Metcalfe-Bilgin’s Metadale Legacy Lives On another top class example, stunning outline and hands flow over her, great for size, good forechest & length of brisket, moving well in this class and should have a bright future. 2nd Peel & Andison’s Minidogland Bunny (Naf) (Imp Rus) bl/tan of good size, lean feminine head & just slight stop, lovely length of neck into clean shoulder, good forechest, level backline & good underline, nicely angled and used to advantage moving, another who should have a bright future. 3rd Bell’s Tolberg Eostre JW

PGB (13 Entries) Abs: 4 Nice class with little between them all 1st Dalton’s Llansansiors Miss Cupcake red of nice proportions, attractive head & good earset, would prefer longer keel and smoother underline however she was well handled and moved really well especially at the rear, to take this class over 2 2nd Jennings Jenivons Red Robin, red with attractive look and good overall construction, she felt good underhand but was unable to match the movement of the winner here. Very good back and underline, nicely proportioned. 3rd Gleaves Stargang Krystal Kisses

LB (13 Entries) Abs: 3 Very nice class of quality bitches with close decisions. 1st Ergis’s Siouxline Rachel JW bl/tan of elegant appearance with clean lines, head of good length tapering nicely, good jaw strength, liked her length of neck to clean shoulder line, firm through her backline and she kept this perfectly on the move, good underline, nice strength & angle to her hindquarters, a lovely example of the breed & was pleased to award her the Bitch CC which I understood later to be her third so well done. 2nd Peel, Andison & Carroll’s Clentry Girl Like You, bl/tan and very similar in size, type and outline, she appealed for her outline which was feminine, clean and typical. She was very well constructed throughout and moving forward well with good drive. 3rd Cross’s Loggeta Pickled Lilly

OB (6 Entries) Abs: 1 1st Coxon’s Lovaine Sundsdal's Black Cadillac To D'arisca, bl/tan with stunning outline, very feminine equally proportioned head, dark eye, lovely length & strength of neck to clean shoulder, good forechest & length of keel, level back and strong over her rump, angled quarters, close decision between these. 2nd Dunhill & Dunhill’s Cwmdarhian Annie Oakley at Gellijam, smart bl/tan with lovely balance to her head, strong neck, good forechest and prosternum, nice clearance, strong front & rear, height to length ratio good, nice bitch who today was slightly unsettled. 3rd Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Song of Ice N' Fire

VB (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Ergis’s Ch Siouxline Rapunzel with Melriding, red who even at 81/2 years she is stunning and has obvious quality, classic for outline & good proportionally, well constructed throughout and moving as her construction would suggest with forward reach and drive from behind, really lovely girl who was marginally pipped, pleased to award her Res.CC 2nd Oxley’s Dinkidax Phyllisia, bl/tan who was enjoying her day here, would prefer a better balance to muzzle, she had good dark eye, good forechest and nice level backline but was suffering from false pregnancy spoiling her underline, nicely rounded rump and reasonable angle to quarters, lost outline on the move.
