I felt honoured for be invited to judge this numerical strong variety and would like to thank the exhibitors for the entry together with my excellent steward Paul Hayes for keeping the ring flowing smoothly especially with some large classes.
There were some common observations that need attention. I only found two incorrect bites but the weak under jaws need to be watched they are not the same width as the top jaw which gives reason for concern and is common place. Heads varied there were some beautiful ones but also a good amount that were too wide in skull and short in foreface hence the lack of conical shape, still one or two with round eyes, but on the whole they have improved since the last time I judged them. The breed should have a tight fitting coat and many have excessive skin causing dewlap and wrinkles down the legs. By and large the height to length ration and ground clearance is good with just the odd few ones that were ultra low to ground.
VETERAN DOG 6 (1abs) 1. Scotts CH WOLFERLOW WILL SCARLET B&t of excellent breed type well put together and all of a piece moves soundly. By far BV 2.Stewarts STARGANG TYRION RUSSTECK smart r/br that has a lovely clean outline and well constructed, not the rear action of the winner 3.Startup’s CURTISEY HEAD GARDNER
MINOR PUPPY 2 (1ABS) Gleave’s STARGANG PINK FLOYD red still very much a baby that needs to mature outstanding head piece good front, clean neck, good shoulder shows promise
PUPPY DOG 7 ( 2ABS) 1. Tabbron’s PHOENIE PLATINUM GLORY red nice head, good mouth, good reach of neck beautiful front and forechest, well ribbed keeps a good outline on the move BPD 2. Coxon’s DARISCA DINNER AT EIGHT b&t thought he would be my class winner as he looks very smart on the stack, but did not excel on the move not the forechest of the winner and moves wide behind 3. Beach’s MASTERFLEETWOOD MCVIE BY BEACHDAX
JUNIOR DOG 12 (3 abs) 1. Magri’s LOKMADI CALL ME LOUIS ROZAMIE r/Br extremely sound young male that has a lot to offer. Beautiful masculine head correct bite, strong neck and good tight front and well placed shoulder strong bone and lovely feet, ribbing goes well back and has strong hindquarters which uses to the full RCC won this on his sound movement . 2. Downie MARVALE KINGFISHER soundly made a touch long in back, needs to tighten up on the move 3.Hanney-Mitchell BRONIA CHAYCE red nice to go over and lovely outline and type, was not co operating with his handler was tucking his underline up and tensing his topline on the stack
YEARLING DOG 6 (1abs) 1. Paget & Carroll’s MARVALE FIRECREST red well constructed touch too low to ground for me, would prefer a tighter fitting jacket but could not be deigned his place on his construction and sound movement 2. Burnett’s CLENTRY CRANBERRY lovely head, lovely type, moves well but rather unsettled 3. Gvozdieva’s MD CH MINI GOLF WOTAN b&t superb head, excellent mouth, good reach of neck, lovely clean outline on the move but a touch too tall for me
POST GRADUATE DOG 8 (1abs) DYNASTYDAX TARQUIN red This dog is all of a piece but not masculine enough for me would like more strength in head and bone is on the fine side. 2. Clentry Cranberry 3Russell’s FOXEARTH TIGER ROLL B&t shown in tip top condition beautiful bone and feet moves out freely
LIMIT DOG 9 (1 abs) This was a super quality class but the majority of the dogs were far too big 1. Jennings’s MARVALE NORTHERN CARDINAL AT JENIVON This dog stood away in this class Nice head, sound mouth lovely tight fitting front, well placed shoulder, good length of ribbing, moves well with good rear drive, disliked his excessive skin and wrinkle 2. Grigos Mateo’s ALMARXILS TSUNAMI red such a handsome boy exquisite head front and reach of neck and his movement is beautiful he just flows with correct reach and drive – he is simply too big for the UK rings 3. Mutton’s IVAN PODDUBNY IZ OMSKOI KREPOSTI FOR MONTONE b&t another beautifully balanced hound of good breed type that has a superb head and mouth nice clean outline and a powerhouse on the move again – sorry to big for the uk rings but could not be ignored .
OPEN DOG 10 (1 abs) 1.Williams & Moes CH CWMDARHIAN JESSE JAMES By far the best male on the day red, in tiptop condition well muscled and shown to perfection. He has a strong masculine head of the correct proportions lovely clean reach of neck that flows in to excellent front and shoulder. Good strong bone, clean legs, nice tight elbows, good length of rib and well conditioned muscular well angulated hind quarters moves true. CC & RBOB 2.Roberts WINGCREST SUPERSONIC TO DENVER B&T very much like the winner in type soundly made, moves true, presented in excellent condition but looking his age just hadn’t got the sparkle of the winner. 3. Andison & Peel’s CH CLENTRY DONNIE DARCO a worthy champion of beautiful breed type just a shade taller on the leg than the two infront of him.
GOOD CITIZENS (2) 1. Startups CURTISEY HEAD GARDNER red, lovely type well balanced the was third in veteran a real credit to his owner for his condition 2.Baker & Clements DUKE MIDNIGHT WILLIAM old choc boy from veteran again lovely to see the old timers enjoying their day out .
VETERAN BITCH 11 (3 abs)1. Tree’s ARDENRUN SEA SHANTY BY KEIMANTRE Pleasing head, good eye shape well put together and still can move out like a professional showgirl.2. Wests ARCHIDAX BETTY BOOP red another nice bitch shorter than the winner and carrying a little more body, very sound to go over and moves out well just perfered the head of 1 3. Turner & Merrifield’s BARRYANN LADY JAYNE
The quality of the bitches on the whole was far superior to the dogs and was delighted with all of my class winners that came forward for the bitch challenge

PUPPY BITCH 13 (3 abs) 1. Beach’s BEACHDAX SWEET MELODY, stunning colour beautiful dark rich red. She is really lovely to go over has a pretty head of the correct proportions, lovely eyeshape and good strong mouth, her front assembly and shoulder is spot on good ribbing strong rear angulation, was most impressed with her will follow her future BP 2. Coxon’s D’ARISCA LITTLE BLACK DRESS A little plain in head would like a touch more foreface, lovely strong mouth, good clean neck and topline which she holds as at all times, not the forechest of the winner3. Magri ROZAMIE ABRACADEBRAH quality s/red bitch sure these three will change places throughout the year.
JUNIOR BITCH 12 (3 abs) This was a hot class to win spoilt for choice some beautiful bitches of quality. 1. Callow’s GARTHORNE GLENDA r/br What a gorgeous girl, lovely head and eye, good mouth, good bite with strong jaws, good long clean neck flowing into sound shoulders, sufficient forechest, well ribbed back and good coupling, strong well angulated hindquarters. RCC just lost out on maturity in the challenge sure she will gain her crown easily. 2. Hanney Mitchell’s BRONIA CLARISSE a really good quality bitch most of the above comments on conformation apply was unfortunate to meet the winner who had a prettier head piece. 3. Kents’s LOKMADI OH WHAT A CIRCUS another quality youngster which won her place on construction just need to tighten up to complete the picture, still looks a teenager.

Paget & Carroll’s MARVALE SANDPIPER red good head of the correct proportions, lovely reach of neck, running into correct shoulders, sufficient front good ribbing , sufficient bone and lovely feet keeps a superb outline on the move and reach and drive is spot on, sorry just carn’t be doing with leg wrinkle, 2Figueriras ALZAWAIA BILLAH RED HURRICANE Gorgeous head, beautiful front shoulder and outline, superb movement . which won her the place. 3. Metcalfe-Bilgin METADALE LEGACY LIVES ON
POST GRADUATE 20 (2 abs) This class was a battle between first and second like them both a lot. 1. Jennings MARVALE JENA AT JENIVON A sound quality s/red of lovely type and lovely to go over moves soundly considered her in my challenge 2. James LOIS LANE CHEKY’S HOJANMIT AT DAXIEMOORS Very much of the same type as the winner same comments apply I think she is a shade taller on the leg than the winner moves out true keeping a clean correct outline at all times 3. Masons COLLIDACH HOT SPRINGS AT TECKELTOWN br another pleasing bitch Lovely head, would like a little more turn to her ears which she can fly on the move apart from that quality and has super movement.
LIMIT BITCH 12 (2 abs) 1. Masons TECKELTOWN YOURE THE ONE B & T Quality bitch pleasing head, well put together lovely front shoulder and front, superb topline and outline on the move, nothing overdone so sound well balanced and all of a piece. 2. Jennings JENIVONS MISS MARPLE this was a really strong class and she was very much alike in type as my winner just didn’t like the wrinkle on her legs. 3. Roberts & Smiths SONORRA GINGER SNAP FOR RAYOL s/r super front lovely outline well balanced and moves out well just did not have the rear angulation of the two in front of her.
OPEN BITCH 22 (2 abs) Wow what a class could have done with double the quantity of prize cards 1. Dunhills CH CWMDARHIAN ANNIE OAKLEY AT GELLIJAM b&T My notes simply say ‘stunning’ She is beautiful has the most gorgeous outline, so elegant, stunning head reach of neck, text book front and shoulder, long sternum and ribbing, well coupled loin superb hindquarters and could move all day and still keep flowing, the more I moved her the more elegant she became wish she was mine. I understand she is litter sister to my dog cc winner compliments need to go to their extremely clever breeders. CC & BOB it was purely her clean front & head carriage that clinched the deal. 2. William & Moes CWMDARHIAN GINGER SNAP red she is so correct in construction shorter and more compact in type and moves well just preferred the elegance of the winner who has a touch more leg and covered the ground easier. 3. Andison Peel & Paget’s CH CLENTRY GIRL LIKE YOU she just completed the picture of three cracking girls a worthy champion.
