Thank you to the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge again at SKC. My first time awarding CC’s in Min S/H Dachshunds, so thank you also to the Exhibitors that made the journey up to Edinburgh to enter under me.
Puppy (4)
1st:- Russell’s Russteck Red McGregor. 6 month red . A lot steadier on the move to win the class. Although still very much a baby, as he should be. Good, broad chest, especially noticable coming toward me. BPIB.
2nd :- Spencer & Spencer’s Lokmadi Sandstone at Bannonbrig. A bit longer in length still, which will improve when he bodies up with age. 9 months. A very handsome head & expression.
Post Grad (3)
1st :- Wilson’s Shantallah Secret Shadow at Linburnax. A tough class, but this one won on his lovely condition, plus he moved around the ring very proud and steady most of the time. Still a youngster with lots of potential. A right show-off. RDCC
2nd :- Herald’s Sonorra Dark Treacle at Winterfield. A close call. Had a really nice broad front, but didn’t move quite as strong as winner today.
3rd :- Burnett & Burnett’s Clentry Cranberry.
Limit (6)
1st :- Francis’s Stargang Hay Bob at Feebrick. A difficult class again. All 4 were very typical of the breed. Winner was very smart and proud. A lot easier to handle, which showed off his qualities better. A good masculine head. Correct in ribcage and length.
2nd :- Jennings’s Marvale A Royal Affair. Dark black, smart dog showed great after a previous scare at a show. Handled perfect .
3rd :- Coxon’s Lovaine D’Arisca Dinner At Eight.
Open (4)
1st:- Mason’s Ch Teckeltown Master Piece JW. This was an obvious winner from the start. Moved very steady to win class. Handled to perfection. Very proud and on a mission while moving. Lovely head, and great broad chest & front. Overall a high quality dog. DCC & BOB
2nd:- Gilbert’s Linburndax Tru Haggis. Also a very nice dog, but not as strong at rear. Didn’t show too well for handler today. Handsome head and expression. Unlucky to meet 1. Very smart with lovely outline. Moved freely.
BITCHES
Puppy (8)
1st:- Cumberland & Cumberland’s Mumysami Beth Level of Crazy. A very difficult class. Just preferred the winner, but then the other 3 came close. First, a lovely feminine bitch. Very babyish. Moved really well and steady for a puppy. Has loads of potential I am sure.
2nd:- Gilbert & Wilson’s Wee Haggis Tweed. Very different to winner. Black/tan. Pretty feminine, quality girl, who would win another day.
3rd:- Cumberland’s Chloe Laura Mumysami Star Spangled
Junior (4)
1st:- Fleming’s Brogansian Gingerella. A clear winner here. Very smart red, just out of puppy. V steady, lovely head. Correct outline while moving, but a bit erratic in rear although still so young. Considered for top honours today.
2nd:- Paterson’s Gallus Struck Gold. A bit unsure of herself today. Lovely condition and coat.. Close to 1 and could have changed placings. Very smart with very good topline which she kept nicely on the move. Feminine head, dark eye & good expression.
Post Grad (2)
1st:- Wilson’s Linburndax Haggis Bon Babe. Again, a close call as both correct and steady movers. A bit more length and lovely condition. A bit naughty for handler.
2nd:- Bain & Bain’s Clentry Rewrite The Stars. Didn’t stand or show well today, making her look a bit shorter in body, therefore would have liked a bit more length, to enhance rear movement.
Limit (12)
1st:- Coxon’s Lovaine D’Arisca Little Black Dress. A fantastic class of lovely bitches, which made it difficult for me. Winner a lovely steady black/tan bitch that moved really well. Very feminine. Great condition and showed to perfection. BCC
2nd:- Cumberland & Cumberland’s Mumysami So Distinct. Another great specimen of the breed. Very smart, tan (red), Good rear movement. Long neck making her look very proud. Keeping good topline at all times. Nice broad front. RBCC
3rd:- Graham’s Bronia Camille.
Open (5)
1st:- Mason’s Teckletown Lady In Red. Another great class. This handler gets the very best of her dogs. Won on movement alone as other 2 girls were almost as good. Steadier at rear and very proud.
2nd:- Thomson’s Crosscop Gabriella. Unlucky for this bitch today. Could have easily changed placed with winner. Very feminine head & expression. Moved steady. Lovely front & shoulders.
3rd:- Herald’s Winterfield’s June of Arabia. BSpBeg
Veteran (1)
1st:- Kay’s Lochlip I Cast A Spell On You. She certainly did !! Such a beautiful happy lady she is. Obviously enjoyed her day. 8 yrs, very pretty, Lovely all over show girl and a delight to judge. Considered for top honours. BV
Special Beginner (5)
1st:- Herald’s Winterfield’s June of Arabia. A well deserved win in this class. Moved very steady and in lovely condition.
2nd:- Cumberland’s Chloe Laura Mumysami Star Spangled. Very smart black/tan. A bit longer in length maybe. A promising puppy.
