It was a privilege and honour to judge my own breed at the Dachshund Club this year. Thank you to the officers and committee members for my appointment. I had a lovely day which I enjoyed very much, the hardworking committee held and excellent show which was a wonderful success. Thank you to the exhibitors for the brilliant entries, and to my ring steward Jenny Rowe for keeping such a large entry running smoothly.
Most dogs were shown in lovely condition, one or two could have given more attention to their teeth. The ring was an excellent size which gave me opportunity to really see the dogs from all angles.
I was pleased with my end results. My Best of Breed didn’t disappoint me, he really showed his socks off in Best in Show, my puppy went Best Puppy in Show and Special Beginner took Best Special Beginner in Show. Thank you.

Nicely turned-out B/T, fair head and good bite, shoulder OK with tight elbows, good driving movement won him the class.

Better head than one, good fore quarters and rear. Moved very well, but lost topline on the move, not outline of 1.

Nice type, 7-month B/T with lovely front head and neck. Lovely outline when stood but topline needs to settle when moving.

3rd in Special Beginners class. Pleasing head and expression, would have liked more angulation, both front and back but handled and moved very well.

Not showing his age of 8 ½ years, who moved and showed really well, but came up against 1 on such good form.

9-month brindle girl. What a little showgirl, good head enough neck, nice layback of shoulders, spring and length of ribbing at this age. Still needs to tighten up all round, but what a smart little mover, true up and down, and in profile just draws your attention, so mature in her ways, she’s lovely to watch. BP, RCC and BPIS.

Just 6 months, little raw at the
moment, but she has a nice temperament as she settles down, she has a lovely
head and body and when I was able to catch her movement it was lovely. Its just
that she would rather play at the moment. I hope she will mature into something
special, good luck.

Another quality girl who took my eye. Sound construction in body when stacked, didn’t disappoint on the move, strong driving movement got a little excited at times but couldn’t deny her 2nd place in a super strong class.
