Miniature Smooth-Haired: My first appointment awarding Challenge Certificates in this breed, much anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed. I was thrilled with the entry, both numerically and in quality. Nearly all dogs were presented in excellent condition, teeth were clean and toenails neat. There were some fabulous coats and temperament was good across the entry. The Hall was very noisy but the exhibits coped well. Some were carrying too much condition, particularly around the shoulders, hence their overall shape was affected, also lacking in muscle tone elsewhere. I know how much exercise these power packs of dogs can take. With additional exercise, these exhibits would command attention with a more honed body. Those in both line ups were most pleasing. The ones that took the top awards were splendid examples of the breed. MPD (2) Two promising males, both 7 months old. 1 Jenivons The Story Lives On (Jennings) Red that was more mature overall. Handsome head, with a good front, prominent keel. Well balanced and had a pleasing profile. Good underline
with the required ground clearance. Held his top line on the move. Front and rear angulation correct. Standing on broad feet, with strong bone. Moved out with enthusiasm, tail carried correctly. Well schooled to showcase his attributes. BP 2 Kelsomaid Up in Flames (Coote) Chocolate. Smaller cast than 1. Spot on for size. Good head with well set ears. Front quarters with correct angulations. Moderate length with strong loin. Super coat and skin. Strong hindquarters and bone. Moved with gusto and with enthusiasm, albeit a little too happy in his tail carriage. PD (1) 1 Siouxline Trojan (Ergis) 8 month old brindle. Strongly built, well balanced, with masculine head with correct ratios. Long neck. Pleasing front assembly. Good muscle tone. Well ribbed and tidy underline with the required ground clearance. Tail carried correctly on the move. Moved out well but a little untidy in the rear when going away. JD (2,1) 1 Llenocor Stop and Stare with Simorepaw Aw(s) (Hiskett) B/T. Lovely for overall size and shape, everything in proportion. A little fine in head. Excellent condition and smooth coat. No exaggeration, with good front and rear angulation. Preferred the topline of this male. Moved out soundly. 2 Marvale Salute The Crown with Ravenwood (Robertson) Slightly longer cast. Pleasing head with correct ear set and dark eye. Well ribbed and tidy underline. Strong broad feet and decent for bone. Tended to dip his top line on the move. Active and enthusiastic when
moving. GD (3) The first two could easily change places on another day. Much to like about them both. 1 Jenivon's Alexandra of Earldax (Cato) B/T Super for size, balanced with no exaggerations. Pleasing head and neck. Long shoulder blades, strong bone throughout. Decent broad feet. Moderate length, with strong loin. Super skin and coat. Well muscled hindquarters. Moved with strong drive. Handled sympathetically.
2 Brogansian Barbarian (Patch) Brindle, longer cast than 1. Lovely masculine head with the correct ratios. Good front and underline. Longer back but with strong loin and rear. In super condition, with shiny coat. Sound on the move, although a little close behind when moving away.3 Kleinstar Blue Moon (Reynolds) PGD (1) 1 Marvale Cuckoo at Ravenwood (Robertson) Brindle. Well balanced and presenting a pleasing shape in profile. Masculine head, with dark eyes and correct ear set. Ribs carried well back. Topline held on the move with correct tail carriage. Feet broad and carrying just the right amount of condition. Confident and outgoing on the move. LD (5) 1 Carpaccio Red Alert for Essandsee (Band & Mccarthy) Red, really liked this boy. Masculine head with the correct length ratios. Long neck, with super front assembly.Front feet broad and well padded.Clean underline, ribs carried well back. Strong loin and unexaggerated hindquarters. Very pleasing stamp of dog with excellent temperament and manner, almost too laid back. Moved soundly. My only wish is that he had a little more "joie de vivre" on the move. RDCC 2 Jenivon's Starfinch (Jennings) B/T Very smart dog throughout. Head masculine with dark eyes, Balanced and well constructed fore and aft. Well ribbed with ample thorax. Strong bone, broad feet and excellent skin and coat. Spot on for size. Moved easily with much drive from the rear. 3 Amaffrey Sirius Black (Bullis) OD (7,1) 1 A lovely class of males. 1 Bronia Gustave of Melriding (Small) This dog caught my eye immediately on entering the ring. Red, of moderate size. Great head with dark eyes, well set ears and correct ratios of length. Long neck with slight arch. Correct angulation in both front and rear quarters. Excellent skin and coat, over super muscle tone. Well ribbed, short of loin with long croup. Standing on broad front feet and able to stand true. Moved with drive and has that extra special sparkle of a true showman that easily clinched him the DCC, I understand his third. Many congratulations! DCC and BOB. 2 Ch Rijobeau Rumours with Llennocor JW (O'connell) B/T another super dog in such a class of quality animals. Shown in great condition. Handsome, masculine head with dark eyes and strong under-jaw. Long neck, correct front construction with the required angulation. Of moderate length, well ribbed and tidy underline with good ground clearance. Muscled hindquarters which he used well on the move. Sound, free flowing mover and shown with precision to showcase his numerous attributes. 3 Clentry Tiercel (Andison) MPB (1 Bronia Rihanna at Louromi (Bosworth) Beautiful red with the most feminine of heads, dark eyes, ears set high. Excellent neck and shoulder placement. Moderate throughout, with everything in proportion. Skin supple and glossy coat. Good underline with slight arch over loin. Handler moved her at too fast a pace initially and her tail carriage suffered. Once a more suitable pace was achieved a very pleasing profile was maintained. BPB 2 Amaffrey Rita Skeeter (Bullis) Red. Another lovely puppy, very promising. Excellent head, feminine and breed typical. Would prefer a little more neck.Super coat and in show condition. Also super for size and very well balanced.Good shoulders, broad feet. Moderate in length. Well ribbed. Hindquarters strong with short second thigh. Moved out soundly. 3 Kelsomaid Black Dragon (Coote) PB (4) 1 Lokmadi Lindy Hop of Earldax (Cato) Red with lovely overall shape. Head with
correct ratios, dark eye. Front well constructed, breast bone evident. Broad front feet. Moderate in length with ribs well back. Tidy underline, topline held on move. Strong hindquarters, good muscle tone. Again, another in excellent condition. Moved with long stride, tail correctly held.
Sympathetically handled to give of her best. 2 Maurfield Aphrodite (Corfield) B/T in super condition. Beautiful breed classic head. Pleasing length of neck and correct angulations in front assembly. Longer cast than 1. Well ribbed with plenty of room for heart and lungs. Rump muscled and hindquarters with long croup. Standing on broad front feet with good arch to toes. Moved freely.3 Siouxline Trinity (Ergis) JB (7) The first two could easily change place on another day. Both lovely examples of the breed. 1 Marvale Golden Oriole for Devondax JW (Small) Red presented in excellent condition. Great for size, both well constructed fore and aft. Of moderate length, with supple skin and glossy coat. Well ribbed, with tidy underline, slight arch over loin and long croup. Front feet broad, and standing true. Moved with drive and confidence.2 Jenivon's Spicebomb (Jennings) Red. Lovely breed typical head, filling all requirements. Slightly longer cast than 1 and with better ground clearance. Good depth of chest, tidy underline and well muscled rump, with strong loin. Excellent coat and muscle tone. Balanced from nose to tail tip. Moved with drive and enthusiasm, carrying her tail correctly.3 Portmoll Primadonna (Graham) GB (7) Super class of quality bitches. 1 Bronia Solange at Louromi JW (Bosworth) Absolutely loved this one as soon as she came into the ring. Red with so many attributes. Spot on for size, of lovely shape, moderate and well balanced. Feminine, breed typical head, long neck and correct front assembly. Skin, coat and general condition exemplary. Well ribbed, ample depth and hindquarters strong, with straight hind legs from rear, short second thigh. At first, moved too fast, but when in her natural cadence, a joy to watch her on the move. A very worthy winner. BCC.2 Winterfield Whiskey Maude (Herald) Another really top quality red. Beautiful head piece. Dark eyes, set obliquely. In excellent condition with the best of coats and good muscle tone. Upper arm held close to ribs, good depth of brisket. Of moderate length and excellent ground clearance allowing her move out in a long stride. Rump well muscled, long croup and feet correct all round. Moved out with ease and accuracy. 3 Bronia's Annetta at Lowoods (Barr) PGB (6,3) Joshotto Martha Gunn (Butterstone) B/T Super for size, moderate throughout and balanced. Feminine head, with the slight tapering to nose. Long neck, running into shoulders. Good for bone, deep keel with good capacity, ribbed well back. Moderate in length, strong loin and well muscled rump. Coat in great condition. Good underline. Top line held on the move. Very pleasing on the move with tail held correctly. 2 Amaffrey Cat Balou (Bullis) B/T. A little longer cast than 1. In excellent coat. Correct head, feminine and breed typical. Front and rear angulation complementary. Good strong feet, well arched and broader in front. Well ribbed, with breast bone evident. Preferred the underline of 1. Broad rump and short second thigh. Ideally would like to see her a little less well covered to enhance her obviously good structure. Moved out soundly. 3 Donnadoon Little Dreamer at Dorenian (Walker) LB (7) There were a few, very pleasing exhibits in this class that ideally could shed some weight, appearing unnecessarily heavy around the neck and shoulders, lacking muscle tone. 1 Winterfield Lucky Star (Herald) B/T In lovely condition. Very smart and breed typical. Lovely head and neck. Good front construction in profile, could be a little tighter when viewed from the front. Deep keel and well ribbed. Moderate in length, sloping shoulders. Strong hindquarters with correct angulations. Super coat and supple skin. Moved soundly, freely and with drive from the rear.2 Siouxline Elsa Marie JW (Ergis) B/T Longer cast and lower on the leg than 1. Pleasing head, with dark eyes. Good arch to neck and front quarters with correct angulations. Distinct keel and deep chest, well ribbed. Good length of body and strong loin. Good muscle tone throughout. Would prefer greater ground clearance. Moved out with energy and confidence. 3 Debbiejay Jammy Lass (Carey & Walker) OB (6) A super class of Open Bitches. A few underlines were a bit disappointing, either just off a litter, coming into or out of season which distracted from their overall shape. 1 Gellijams Fireworks at Cwmdarhian (Beer & William & Moes) Red, fully mature. Excellent head with long neck running into super shoulders. Front construction was correct, standing on strong bone and broad feet. Well ribbed with deep keel. Moderate in length with good ground clearance. Great for overall size and condition. Presented in ideal show weight. Well muscled throughout, with full rump and strong hocks, parallel from rear. Moved out with both drive and energy. RBCC 2 Bronia Camille (Graham) Very attractive mature exhibit. Super head, feminine and breed typical. Excellent neck and front assembly with good depth of chest and correct angulations. Skin and coat of the highest order, possibly could just lose little condition if pushed. A little longer cast than 1. Strong feet and bone. Well ribbed and topline pleasing, with croup long to correctly carried tail. Ideally, would just like a little more ground clearance. Not enjoying the very noisy Hall, hence not fully at ease. Would love to see her with sun on her back and on the grass. Moved out with good drive from rear.3 Winterfield Lady in Red JW (Herald) VB (2) 1Two really lovely veterans, both in super condition and full of zest! 1 Pennydach Mystique at Rosencrantz VW (Rose) B/T 8 years. In great condition with glossy coat. Another of ideal size. Lovely head piece with dark eyes, long neck with sufficient arch. Well ribbed with good depth of keel. Front and rear angulations as required. Still with noticeable muscle tone. Moved with drive and full of confidence. BV. Pleased to see her go Veteran Hound Group 2. 2 Marvale Silver Sorceress at Louarne (Lunt) Dapple, nearing double figures. Very feminine and perfect for size. In excellent condition and with great muscle tone evident. Super head piece, ears well set. Elegant neck, good front and rear construction. Balanced throughout with no exaggerations. One of the most enthusiastic movers on the day. A real pocket rocket and a credit to her owners. Handled to give of her best.
