MINIATURE LONGHAIRED BITCHES

I was pleased to have the opportunity to judge the Miniature Long Haired bitches at this show having missed doing the bigger variety last year due to my accident. Entry was good but the Kennel Cough that had been around at the last two Breed Shows was I understand responsible for many of the absentees. Presentation on the whole was good and just one to two supspect temperaments. I was disappointed with movement as many lacked the verve and drive that a good constructed Hound should possess. On the plus side first and second in any of the classes, well deserving their placings. My co-judge agreed with the bitch as our BOB and I with the puppy dog to go through to the BIS show ring and we were delighted to see them carrying off the BIS and PBIS awards.

MPB. (15). 1. Crawley’s, Doujac Duette. Smart black and cream. Good head and eye. Well arched neck, good shoulders. Prominent forechest, ribbing well back. Good in topline and underline and so nicely balanced. Moved out very well and soundly. Very promising. 2. Vine’s, Chiselvine Tuscan Dream. Another nice one, b/t, good in head and eye and length of ribbing. Sound free movement keeping nice outline. 3. Geeson’s, Abydachs Aphrodisiac.

PB. (7). 1. McLean’s, Maxwin Lady Madonna. Fell for this one. Super red so mature for age and so nice to go over. Lovely proud head carriage, good shoulders and quarters. So nicely balanced created a picture both standing and moving. Will watch this one with interest. RCC. 2. Tomlinson’s, Jadag Wild Heather to Winglow. Red good head, nice dark eye. Well constructed body, giving good movement. 3. Mitchells’, Merumist Dawn Treader.

JB. (9). 1. Buchan’s, Oakboro Debonair at Helenium. Smart b/t with good bone legs and feet. So nicely put together. This reflects in her movement which when she keeps it together will be a joy to watch. Pressed hard in the challenge but have no doubt she will be there for consideration, when she settles to the task in hand. 2. Thomas’s, Shenaligh Sweet Dreams. Difficult type to first. So sweet and feminine but has everthing in the right place and well presented. Sound movement keeping nice outline. 3. Turner’s, Dacatec Dream on Baby to Rafthouse.

PGB. (13). A difficult class to judge. 1. Dutson’s, Rossglen Raschka. B/t shorter coupled but so well balanced. Good head and eye and firm body. A good mover which gave her this class. 2. Blackshaws’, Minard She’s a Peach at Ravensways. Again a different type to first. Red with good overall proportions, everything in the right place. Good sound movement so close up to first, making this a hair spittling decision. 3. Crawley’s, Kenzed Red Campion at Doujac.

LB. (15). Better class for quality down the line. 1. Thomas’s, Shenaligh Sweet Symphony. Quality red. Feminine head and outlook. Good front and tight shoulders. Nice body well balanced and sound mover. 2. Shutt’s, Donnadoon Passion Flower at Rhinestar. B/cr. One that I liked when I saw her as a puppy and forced circunstances has had to re-settle. Feel now she is enjoying the show scene again she is looking and moving well. So nicely put together everything in the right place. Close up on first. 3. McLachlan’s, Gayvilles Specially for You.

OB. (7). 1. Lockett’s, Ch. Ralines Royal Acclaim. Shd/c 6 years old and still on top form. A true example of what the Miniature long should be. Presented and handled creates a near faultless picture moving and standing. What else can I say that hasn’t already been put on paper to express her virtues during her impressive career except , well done once again! I found nothing to beat her. Won another CC to add to the collection with BOB and finally BIS. 2. Wood’s, Wildstar Wright Royal. Same sire as my winner and so nicely put together. Not making the best of herself by giving her handler a hard time, but when she did co-operate she looked good both standing and moving.

VB. (4). Four really nice ones but the winner really stood out. 1. McLean’s, Ch. Maxwin Ice in the Sun. At 8 and a half years can still look the part and her attitude and showmanship is still there. A quality red so well constructed. BVIB. 2. Butler’s, Harrimond Darl Secret. Another that still looks good at 7 years of age. 3. Clarkes’, Maundowne Madam Phoebe at Dormosa.
