Miniature Long Haired
Thank you for the lovely entry. My class winners and most placings below were of good quality. Both lineups for the challenges pleased me. Would have liked three Challenge Certificates to award in each sex, which was lovely for me, but disappointing for the exhibitors. I was looking for a Dachshund in Miniature. I’m afraid Mini Longs are such a pretty breed that too much emphasis is placed on glamour and not enough on breeding a small hound. Quite a number were cute, pretty toy dogs. Large round eyes, broad skull with short muzzles. Some coats too profuse, detracting from shape and movement. Mouths and feet were good in the majority of exhibits. Still the problem of loose elbows which when placed in the correct position end up with ‘ten to two’ feet. PD. (8). 1. Brown’s, Jympems Houdini at Garbosa. Brindle boy. Typy boy. Liked his head and eye. Moves with style for one so young. Needs to mature and tighten in front as yet, but only 7 months old. Promising. 2. Passey’s, Rafthouse Poachers Moon over Bagerbrook. Black and tan. Excellent tan markings. Lovely fronted baby. Shade longer than winner. Nice short hocks. Not quite so steady moving as the winner at the moment. 3. Illidge’s Paradachs Murphy Moonshine. JD. (7). 1. Hayes’s, Dolyharp Duet with Dialhouse. Pretty cream. Lovely head and eye. Well padded feet. Kept a good outline on the move. 2. Breese’s, Silkdown on Parade. Very rich red. Good coated boy. Chunky hindquarters and moved well. Failed slightly in head and eye to winner, but a nice one. 3. Liddle’s, Abbeydac Diamond Lad for Morali. ND. (1). 1. Keay’s, Ambermist Prince Charming at Essendy. Small black and tan. Quite a nice shape. Good bone for size. His coat is not his fortune and he fails in head and eye. PGD. (6). 1. Locket’s, Walines Red Dragon. CC. As his name implies lovely red in super condition. Well develped front. Really strong hindquarters which showed in his free movement. A lesson in correct presentation. 2. Silkdown on Parade. 3. Buchan and Colley’s, Ebony Night Runner at Helenium. LD. (10). 1. Illidge’s, Para Dachs Dream Come True. Beautiful sh red. Very scopy boy and moves keeping his lovely outline. Liked his head and eye. Well angulated fore and aft and moves truly. 2. Hanney’s, Bronia Star of Oz. Beautifully presented black and tan. Quite a nice head, eye a shade round. Good angulation, and kept a lovely outline standing and moving. A shade too much coat on his hindquarters rather detracted from movement going away. 3. Jamieson’s, Djeata Riven Within the Ring. OD. (5). 1. Robert’s, Ch. Denver Jack Frost. RCC. Beautiful cream boy. Loved him as a puppy and he has fulfilled his early promise. His head and eye are correct. Plenty of length of muzzle here. Good length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders. Movement very sound. Well padded feet. Seemed a little tense on the day which just lost him the CC as the winner had that extra touch of showmanship. Lovely. 2. Lockett’s, Chralines Royal Statesman. Gorgeous black and tan. Another quality animal from this long established kennel. Well developed front and ribbing. Eye a shade round, but nit picking. Stylish mover. Close up to winner. 3. Brooks’, Quithutec Half Day at Lyndarlea. PB. (11). Nice class. 1. Buchan and Colloy’s, Helenium Fredrena. Fell for this lovely little girl. One you could take home. Such a sweet head and eye. Beautiful sh red coat. Good bone for one so small. Moved with style for a puppy. Nothing I would alter at this stage. Not so mature as the BP winner who came from Junior. 2. Jamieson and Walbey’s, Djeata Silver Addition. Promising silver dapple. Very attractive. Quite naughty when she came in, but settled enough to show her good points. Sound construction throughout. Good front. Going well for her age. To be a little critical would prefer more length of muzzle, but a nice baby. Promising. 3. Kennedy’s, Denken’s Zarzabay. JB. (8). 1. Turner’s, Rafthouse Talulah. BP and BPIS and RCC. Took my eye entering the ring, quite stunning deep rich red. Well developed front. Excellent ribbing and underline. Strong hindquarters which gave her lovely stylish movement. I’m sure she will go on to greater things. Smashing puppy. 2. Djeata Silver Addition. 3. Chharnley’s, Northnook Nutmeg. NB. (5). 1. Djeata Silver Addition. 2. Kennedy’s, Dekena Tizzy May. Black and tan. Quite a sweet little bitch. Lovely deep tan. Nice shape standing. Rather stilted in hind movement. 3. Tremble’s, Ralines Eyelite. PGB. (6). 1. Charnley’s, Northnook Mystic Maid. Liked this typy. Feminine red. Good length of ribbing. Strong quarters. Free mover, keeping her outline at all times. Beautifully presented. 2. Heiser’s, Polinard Winning Weights. Pretty cream. Coat god. Nicely angulated shoulders. Good underlines. Very sound mover. Shade round in eye. 3. Kennedy’s, Deken a Lady Bear. LB. (10). Lovely class. 1. Robert’s, Denvers Babycham. Light red of quality. Beautifully presented as usual from this kennel. Neat feet. Feminine head with correct eye. Strong well angulated quarters. Moved with style and freedom. Close up for RCC. 2. Shutt’s, Jadag Kadbry Rose of Donnadoon. Very attractive chocolate dapple. Elegant lady of quality. Wonderful front. Good shoulders, well laid back with correct length of upper arm. Sadly missing in many. Covers the ground well on the move. Stylish and sound. Liked her. 3. Graham’s, Jadag Fortons Continetal. OB. (6). 1. Blackshaw’s, Minard She’s a Peach at Ravensways. CC and BOB. And such a peach! Quality in a small package. Elegant, beautifully coated, rich red. Such a pretty head and expression. Correct eye. Well angulated shoulders and hindquarters. Short hocks. Excellent bone for size. Very stong, free movement. Showing her hind pads on going a way. Stylish and elegant in profile. Lovely lady. 2. Ch. Ralines Royal Celebration. Cream. One out of the top drawer. Put down to perfection. Beautifully constructed. Sound mover, keeping her topline and shape at all times. Worthy Champion indeed. 3. Humphries’, Avonlea Blissful Bower.
