Birmingham National Dog Show 2006
MINIATURE LONGHAIRD General comments are that there is a great variety of types and quality. All the coats were clean, some teeth were not. Temperaments are wonderful and trusting. Great improvements in movement, but still some ‘rowers’ in front. I enjoyed seeing the glamorous kids on the block and I thank you for the lovely entry. MPD. (4). 1. Halsall’s, Kiddles Tyree. 6 months old cream dog. Lovely pigment. Very glamorous. Fair front which needs to tighten, excellent hind movement with sound back end. Handsome head. Promising. PD. (6). 1. Barnsdale and Hayward-Barnsdale’s, Criskim Ray of Sunlight. BPIB. 11 months old shaded red. He is well coated and balanced dog. He has a nice front, good hind thrust when moving. Good condition. Promising for the future. 2. Kiddles Tyree. 3. Shutt’s, Donnadoon Diplomat. JD. (1). 1. Davis’s, Corrinbar Blue Moon. A beautifully marked silver dapple. A bit skittish and not making the most of himself. Good feet and excellent head. Will be a most impressive dog in full coat. PGD. (10). 1. Cope’s, Chariomar Brandy Splash. A very nice dog with a pleasing head when standing and moving. He is a good b/t with a well angulated shoulder. Strong hindquarters. Correct masculine head which was the deciding factor in his placing when compared to second. 2. Norton’s, Halunke Just Jervis. Lovely red dog. As said in previous comments, similar dog to the winner. Quality exhibit. Moved well. 3. Broad’s, Jenwood Ring of Bells. LD. (6). 1. Welton’s, Chelane Casper Carrot. RCC. Clear red. Good head and shoulder placement. Balanced and cobbier than most, but as sound as a bell. To be hyper-critical, I would prefer a better forechest, but he filled my eye and got the Reserve as a reward. 2. Rees’s, Yumares Nicholas. Cream. Well coated and beautifully prepared. Darkest of pigments. Nice feet, head and he held his topline accurately. 3. Pooles’, Findowrie Man About Town. OD. (6). 1. Angears’, Ridgegrove Alfie Moon. CC and BOB. B/t. What a delight to see such a nice quality dog in such good form. He stood well, moved well and sparkled around the ring. Really enjoying himself. Construction leaves little to be desired and the icing on the cake is that this is his third CC. Well done. A pleasure to judge him. 2. Jamieson’s, Djeata Riven Within the Ring. Another b/t. Not quite the coat of winner but similar in type. Small cobby and nicely angled. Moved quite well. 3. Brown’s, Ir Ch. Jypems Hondini at Garbosa. MPB. (6). 1. Wallace’s, Classsidax Fenfushi Rahl. A beautiful clear red of balance and type. Very pretty with a delightful head and expression. Moved very well for one so young. A tad overawed by the noise, so was I. 2. Murphy’s, Classidax Enchanting Pearl. A pretty cream baby, who also did not appreciate the noise, but she has a good backend which she uses to motor. Her front pasterns and feet need to tighten, but she is a young babe and could surprise us all. 3. Angear’s, Ridgegrove Mon Dance. PB. (5). 1. Thomas’s, Shenaligh Teasle. B/t. Nicely balanced with a good head and reach of neck. Prosternum is good and shoulder placement correct. Hindquarters are strong. Not holding a level topline on the day. Moved well. 2. Barnsdale and Hayward-Barnsdale’s, Criskim Ice Maiden. Shaded red. She is going to have a lovely coat. She is balanced and quality. Correct angled fore and aft which she uses well. 3. Palin’s, Gigi Ginger for Sanmik. JB. (9). 1. Angear’s, Ridgegrove Halle Berry. Same dam as the dog ticket winner. Similar type, only the feminine version. B/t. Top drawer occupant, a bit fidgety on the day, but you can’t deny the quality. She moved with power and purpose. Balanced. 2. Cooper’s, Jumanda’s Black Magic. Yet another b/t. Showed well. Good forechest and really lovely head. Moved with drive. 3. Boyles’, Zarcrest Black Classic. PGB. (10). 1. Norton’s, Halunke Just Jessica. RCC. A hotly contested class with some extremely nice bitches close up. The winner is a very glamorous b/t. Very feminine with a lovely outline. She moved well and soundly with good thrust. Has the elusive reach of neck and prosternm. Elegant. 2. Cooper’s, Garbosa Tilly the Tinker at Jumanda. B/t. Showing her head off. A very pretty bitch whose outline was slightly marred by her high tail carriage on the day. Level and sound. 3. Holmes’s, Tammera Touch of Elegance. LB. (9). 1. Boyle’s, Zarcrest Gold Legacy. Most glamorous and low to ground. Heavily coated well moving bitch. Balanced and typy. I personally would like a little more reach of neck. Nice front construction. 2. Angear’s, Ridgegrove Dancing Shadow. Unsettled at times and she was spoiling her chances. However she did enough to show her quality. Expertly prepared with health oozing from her. When she did get going she moved well. 3. Hall’s, Cliffmere Vanquish. OB. (5). 1. Goddard’s, Ch. Minard Kristal Darque. CC. Nearly 5 years old and still looking great. She loves it doesn’t she? A b/t with loads to say and drool over. Built like a template for the standard and handled so well. Head, neck, shoulders and front all excellent. Topline, coat and hind end, ditto. Lovely. 2. Wallace’s, Cheslan Reethi Rah. Unlucky to meet the winner, but a lot to like about her. Her construction is commendable and her movement is a joy. I must comment on her feet presentation, really nice. 3. Davis’s, Corrinbar Blue Angel. Thank you for your sportsmanship. Always nice to hear applause for the winners. Di Moate
