MINIATURE LONG HAIRED
Thank you to the Committee for inviting me to
judge my own breed at their show. The weather the previous two weeks had been
abysmal which had forced them to change the venue at very short notice and what
a super job they did in the circumstances - they are to be commended. We had to
go under cover on the day as yet again the rain threatened but did not
materialise. The result of this was not totally favourable as the high winds
caused the tent to flap and the framework to bang quite loudly which did upset
some of the exhibits for which I am sorry as you cannot train for this
eventuality, however I must thank all the exhibitors for the very sporting way
my decisions were received as the conditions did affect some of my placings.
MPD (4,0) 1 Roberts’ Wingcrest Goldfinger with Denver. Cream boy 8 mnths,
lovely head and eye - correct dentition. Lovely angle and lay back of shoulder,
prominent prosternum, excellent well arched feet, good depth of bone. Correct
length of rib and keel with well let down quarters. Presented in immaculate
condition and the soundest of movement both away and back and in profile.
Covered the ground really well, a truly lovely baby, should have a very
promising future. RCC & BP. 2 Croxford’s Arbroath Lord of Glendhu. Black & tan 8
mnths. Nice head and eye, correct dentition. Adequate angle and lay of shoulder.
Could do with a little more length of neck for elegance. Good strong hocks with
he used on the move. Well presented. 3 Charnley’s Northnook Rafferty.
PD (2,0) 1 Turner’s Rafthouse Herr Flick - Silver dapple 10mnths.
Excellent shoulders with tight elbows. Good length of neck, good pro-sternum,
good length of rib and keel. Excellent topline when standing with nice short
hocks and hammy quarters. Moved with verve. Would just like a little more length
of foreface. 2 Worswick’s Dolyharp Franze Schubert. Red dog 9 mnths. Nice head
and eye, good length of neck, a little upright in shoulder and not the tightest
of elbows. Good length of ribbing, excellent quarters and moved very well. In
excellent coat and condition.
JD (4,0) 1 Oxley’s Dinkidax Donny Rova. Black and cream with nice head,
eye a little full. Good dentition. Adequate length of neck, level topline with
ribs well carried back. Well arched feet. moved well. 2 Shutt’s Sanmiks Sir
Galahad Donnadoon. Black and cream with gorgeous head and eye. Good length of
neck leading into well laid back shoulder. Good length of ribs with a nice short
loin. A little loose in elbow and not in full bloom at the moment. Moved out
with confidence. 3 Brown’s Devoncream Dew N Thyme.
PGD (2,0) 1 Croxford’s Arbroath Lord of Strathspey. Shaded red dog of very
good proportions Would have preferred a slightly stronger head. Good angles at
both ends and a very sound little dog on the move. Well presented. 2 McCarthey’s
Nagshall Polar Seal. Cream dog that was very well turned out, but was a little
on the lean side for me. Moved well with firm topline.
LD (3,1) 1 Butler’s Maundowne Momentum via Drymoor. Red dog with lovely
head and eye. Correct dentition. Lovely length of neck leading into well laid
shoulders. Tight elbows and good width in front with excellent feet. Ribs well
back with good length of keel. The best of quarters with excellent width of
second thigh. Well muscled and moved true with a good ground covering stride. 2
Oxley’s Wildhatch Cropston Boy of Dinkidax - Brindle in a smaller package all
through. Would have liked more of him, but proportions are correct and well
balanced. Moved well, very sound.
OD (3,0) 1 Welton’s Ch Chelane Casper Carrot. Clear red dog that is so well
made. His head is of good proportions and his neck is of adequate length.
Shoulders are well laid and angled with a good length of upper arm. Ribs are of
excellent length with a short strong loin. Hammy quarters with strong hocks
lovely to watch going away. Good feet well trimmed. He moved out exceedingly
well and really covered the ground. Presentation was second to none. He gave his
handler a nightmare on the day but she persevered and her patience was very
justly rewarded. A lovely boy. Congratulations CC. 2 Angear’s Ch Ridgegrove
Alfie Moon. Black and tan. So much of the above applies to this boy. He was just
a little fuller in eye than 1. Presentation again was impeccable. Moved like he
could have gone all day and so sound. A very worthy Champion. 3 Hayward-Barnsdale
& Barnsdale’s Chriskims Ray of Sunlight JW.
MPB (3,0) 1 Thomas’ Shenaligh Sweet Shadow. Shaded red bitch 8 mnths and
such a sweet baby. Good head with lovely eye and correct dentition. Adequate
length of neck leading into the very best of shoulders with tight elbows. Well
rounded feet, hammy quarters and strong hocks. Moved out very well. Really
enjoyed her day out. Well presented. 2 McCarthey’s Nagshall Pickety Witch. Well
made cream baby with everything where it should be at this point. Moved very
well for one so young. 3 Charnley’s Northnook Lucyanna.
PB (1,1)
JB (7,0) 1 Hannay’s Bronia Navarra. Black and cream. Lovely head and eye
with gentle expression. Good length of neck leading into lovely shoulders. Tight
elbows and excellent prosternum. Body proportions are top class both topline and
underline. Short strong loin, lovely quarters and hocks. Moved very well with
the uneven ground and was at one with her handler. Presentation was superb. A
super type throughoutA0RCC. 2 Way’s Messines Magic Carousel. Black & tan. Nice
young lady to go over. Nothing out of place. Good head, eye and shoulder. Fair
length of rib with adequate quarters which were well used on the move. 3 Brown’s
Devoncream Ruby Dress.
PGB (10,3) 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Scarlet Lady. Very nice head with good eye
shape. Correct dentition. Adequate length of neck leading into very nice
shoulder. Strong front legs with lovely feet well trimmed. Excellent topline and
strong quarters. Moved very soundly and very well presented as you would expect
from this kennel. 2 Edwards’ Barok Brighter by Design. Darkest of shaded reds.
Lovely head and eye, good shoulder, ribs and keel. Excellent quarters on strong
hocks. Moved very soundly covering the ground. Just lacked the final furnishings
today. 3 Angear’s Ridgegrove Moon Dance.
LB (6,1) 1 Roberts’ Denver Suzi Wong. Black & Cream. Superb head shape
with lovely oblique eye. Good strong neck with well placed and angled shoulder.
Tightest of elbows and lovely feet. Well laid back ribs and keel. Excellent
quarters with powerful hind action. Was very sound in all directions, just
didn't look like she was enjoying her day out. 2 Thomas’ Shenaligh Teasel -
Black & tan. Nice head and gentle expression. Good length of neck leading into
good shoulders. Well sprung ribs of good length. Would have preferred a slightly
better turn of stifle. Moved soundly and well turned out. 3 Wallace’s Cheslan
Fenfushi Rah.
OB (6,1) 1 Angear’s Ridgegrove Halle Berry. Black & tan. My notes say fab
all through. Lovely head with gentle expression. Super length of neck and the
very best of shoulders. Strong front legs and well trimmed feet with the deepest
of pads. Outstanding length of rib. Super quarters with shortest and strongest
of hocks. She was an absolute picture on the stack but she was even better on
the move. A very powerful, ground covering bitch, impeccably presented and was
thrilled to give her the CC & BOB. (I believe it to be her 4th) and she went on
to Group 4. Congratulations, would love to take her home. 2 Hannay’s Bronia
Serenity. A very high quality red bitch that has very many good points. She is
made correctly all through and the soundest of bitches on the move. Was just
very unfortunate to meet the winner on a very good day. Wish her well, should
get her title very soon. 3 Wallace’s Cheslan Makunu Rah.
