MINIATURE LONG HAIRED
Sadly I replaced Terry Thorn. It is some time
since I have judged this variety of Dachshund. Type good all through. Main
faults seem still to be shortness of neck, and poor fronts. The coat of course
is all important, but a few too overcoated which can spoil the outline. This is
a breed that has a number of dedicated stalwart breeders who have continued to
keep the standard high. My DCC winner was a lovely example of the breed.
Excellent front and feet. Sound mover, in good hard condition. BCC and BOB.
Sweet head and eye, so very feminine. The best of fronts. Moving and showing
well. BP was up to size, but he is so good. One of the best movers of the day,
so collected and confident. Excellent pigment and eye. Has the neck. Top class.
My notes on the individual winners are brief.
PD. (5). 1. King’s, Kingsdax Casanova. Top class. Does not want
to grow on. Excellent pigment. 2. Cawley and King’s, Creekpit Black Opal at
Summerview. Lovely quality black and tan. Needs to firm in front. 3. Phillips’,
Metadale Secret Assignment.
JD. (7). 1. Brown’s, Ch. Rafthouse Raising Hell at Garbosa.
Excellent pattern. Good front and feet. 2. Young’s, Willowheath Hendrix. Close
up for quality. Firm front. Shade more neck to advantage. 3. Brooks’, Layways
Piper for Lyndarlea.
GD. (3). 1. Dutson’s, Rossdach Red Leader. Never settled. Can have a
better day. Lovely quality dog. 2. Bell’s, Larkhund Jack of Diamonds. Needs
time. Has to mature in body and coat to come better. 3. Fsadni’s, Rugosa Saint
Barnabas Cream.
PGD. (4). 1. Warren’s, Leo Mondial at Cornishpixie. RCC. One of the
best movers of the day. Good head and eye. 2. Brooks’, Lyndarlea Fizzycal
Attracts. Close up for type and quality. Not so positive on the move. 3.
Broad’s, Lyndarlea One of the Boys.
LD. (10). 1. Croxford’s, Arbroath Lord of Strathspey. CC. In good form.
Firm positive mover. Good front and feet. 2. Worswick’s, Dolyharp Franz
Schubert. Another good pattern of the breed. Moving out well. 3. Farmer’s,
Jenwood Shady Spot.
OD. (4). 1. Braod’s, Jenwood Ring of Bells. Lovely example. Well
balanced. Firm mover. Tail carriage unsettled. 2. Oxley’s, Wildhatch Cropston
Boy of Dinkidax. Smart. Moving out well. In good coat. Close up. 3. Brooks’, Ch.
Lundarlea Choc Ice.
PB. (4). 1. McCarthy’s, Magshall My Fair Maiden. Excellent
front and feet. Good head and eye. 2. Brooks’, Lyndarlea Dark Moment. All class.
Close up. Quality all through. 3. Leach’s, Miriadachs Summer Breeze.
JB. (7). 1. Brown’s, Devoncream Bouquet of Thyme. Firm front and feet.
Well balanced. Lovely pattern. 2. McCarthy’s, Nagshall Daisy Duke. Very good
quality in this class. Close up to winner. 3. Earley’s, Yelva Sweet Amber.
GB. (4). 1. McCarthy’s, Nagshall Pickety Witch. Another with good front
and feet. Excellent pigment. Firm mover. 2. Cooper’s, Jumandas Gypsy Silver.
Excellent example. Close decision. 3. Bell’s, Longort Tanya of Distinction.
PGB. (6). 1. Edward’s, Varok New Beginning. Real glamour girl. Moving
with style. Frount could be firmer. 2. McCarthy’s, Nagshall Pickety Witch.
Another made right for make and shape. The soundest of movers. 3. King’s, Bronia
Lasting Impresion with Kingddax.
LB. (7). 1. Thomas’s, Shenaligh Sweet Shadow JW. RCC. Lovely attitude.
No exaggerations. Excellent front and feet. 2. Brown’s, Garbosa ChocolateVogue.
Good pattern. Could have moved out more. 3. Earley’s, Yelva Silver Cloud.
OB. (6). 1. Goddard and Goddard’s, Minard a Girl Like Me. CC and BOB.
Sweet expression. Excellent front and feet. Well balanced. Moving well. 2.
Edwards’, Barok Bonnechere. Another of excellent type. Could be firmer in front.
3. Thomas’s, Shenaligh Teasel JW.
