MINIATURE LONG HAIRED
It has been nearly four years since I last
judge this variety & I was amazed to what extreme they have depreciated in
quality. Hindquarters & poor rear action is something we have always struggled
with in Mini Longs but now to add to that are other drastic faults that need to
be addressed. Firstly the amount of incorrect dentition is amazing not only are
there a good majority of level bites but along with this are rye mouths. Short
upper arms, sloppy elbows & turned out feet are also common place. Also becoming
apparent are ugly incorrect tailsets that are far too high & spoil the picture
of a rounded rump.
VD (4) 1 Watkins’ Bidornis Pinball Wizard cream presented to
perfection, pleasing head, good reach of neck, well laid shoulder & good front,
long ribbing & well coupled loin, excels in movement especially in rear
movement, he can still power around the ring like a youngster. Delighted to
award him the CC; 2 Jamieson’s Ch/Ir Ch Airwaves To Carlang via Djeata, another
favourite of mine having judged him before & given him his crown, still
extremely well constructed but looking his age compared to the winner; 3
Earley’s Yelva Prince Chaming, another old timer enjoying his day out & putting
his best foot forward, well presented & in lovely condition, moves soundly.
PD (6) 1 Brown’s Rafthouse Raising Hell at Garbosa cr/t classic
outline, good front & shoulder, strong well knuckled feet, good length of rib &
moves out well, won this class with ease; 2 Hull’s Kenzal Kiss N Silver, s/d
good outline & moves out well, just preferred the tailset & tail carriage of the
winner; 3 Keay’s Essendy Just A Genie, b/br, pleasing head, good front & outline
kept on the move, would prefer more rear extension on the move. JD
(7) 1 Charnley’s Northnook Rafferty, nice head & reach of neck, superb front &
shoulder, moves well. Just needs more jacket to complete the picture; 2 Brooks’
Lyndarlea Fizical Atracts, cr/t very sound to go over, has a lot to offer. Just
preferred the rear angulation of the winner; 3 Beal’s Chriskim Sun Screen at
Kizbeal, red, pleasing head, good neck but short in upper arm, hence a short
reach in front movement. Coat beautifully prepared & handled extremely well.
YD (4) 1 Young’s Willowheat Zz Top, b/t stood out in this
class, nice clean outline, good length, sound topline which he keeps on the
move; 2 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Silver Starlite, s/d, well constructed to the end of
the ribbing & then felt he was a little square & angular in the hindquarters
hence this placing; 3 Keay’s Lyndarlea Just In Time for Essendy, well presented
& shown, moves true fore & aft. PGD (13) 1 Hall’s Cliffmere
Glider, s/cr, strong masculine head, lovely reach of neck, excellent shoulder &
front assembly, good spring & length of rib, strong balanced hindquarters which
he used to the full, won this class on his soundness; 2 Cope’s Chariomah Brandy
Splash, b/t another nicely made dog, a little longer in body than winner &
taller, just my personally preference in type that split them; 3 Brooks’
Lyndarlea Pedro, sound in construction, moves OK, would prefer more length.
LD (17) 1 Warren & Rowell’s Jadag Continental Diplomat,
outstanding winner in this class, extremely well made, excellent front &
shoulder, good ribbing & coupling, excels in hind angulation, moves out well
with strong rear thrust. Just lost out on top awards due to coat presentation; 2
Oxley’s Dinkidax Donny Rova, another nice one but does not have the angulation &
hind movement of the winner; 3 Poole’s Findowrie Skye Lord, another very sound
dog but of a different type to the two above. Extremely well presented & shows
well. OD (16) 1 RCC, Brooks’ Ch Lyndarlea Choc Ice, cr/t, very
worthy ch, lovely outline well balance both ends & all of a piece, excels in
front, good topline both standing & moving. Just lost out to the CC winner on
rear drive in hindquarters. Beautifully presented; 2 Graham & Wood’s Ch Jadag
Forton’s Special, b/t very handsome worthy ch who was presented to perfection.
Just preferred the movement on the winner which was tighter & more positive; 3
Norton’s Halunke Just Jervis, red, soundly constructed, moves well, I feel this
dog is just taking his time to mature & has still not reached his full
potential. GCD (2) 1 Broad’s Jenwood Ring Of Bells, glorious
clear red which gleamed with condition, lovely topline on the move; 2 Broad’s
Lyndarlea One Of The Boys out moved by the winner.
VB (9) What a super class, all present & correct in their
Sunday best, they were all beautifully presented & a real credit to their
respective owners. 1 Williamsons’ Barkroyal Wyspering Willo b/cr well
constructed showed her little socks off & really enjoyed her day out, still has
an impeccable outline on the move; 2 Bainbridge’s Lynbain Lady Lisa, b/t showing
her age a little more than the winner, still has a lovely outline which she
maintains on the move & presented in sparkling condition; 3 Davis Corrinbar
Barley Blue, s/d another one with a classic outline that she has maintains on
the move. PB (12,1a) I found this to be a really difficult
class to judge any of the first three I would have delighted to take home. The
depth of quality was quite uplifting. I am sure all three have the potential of
champions for the future, simply had to separate them on maturity. 1 Blackshaw’s
Ravenways Drama Queen, red; 2 Brown’s Garbosa Threads Of Gold, brindle; 3
Roberts Denver Penny Lane , cream. JB (14,2) 1 Norton’s Haluke
Casalani, has the most lovely clean outline & did not disappoint when going over
her, very feminine & everything in the right place, ample bone for her size &
super tight feet, moves like she is floating on air; 2 Nightingale’s Rodima So
Smart, very glamorous cream with a lovely front & topline, strong quarters which
uses well. Just a little apprehensive & did not always co-operate with her
handler; 3 Barnsdale & Hayward ’s Chriskims Dark Spirit, sound chunky bitch with
plenty of substance. YB (11,1) This was another strong class
full of quality. 1 McAlpines & Walsh’s Walpines Lavender Lady, red, lovely head,
good reach of neck, sound front & shoulder placement, good spring & length of
rib, all balanced off with strong well angulated hindquarters. Moves beautifully
& presented to perfection. RCC; 2 Way’s Messines Magic Carrousel, b/t,
construction good, moves really well with plenty of drive, shown in gleaming
condition. Just preferred the finer head of the winner; 3 Norton’s Hallunke
Shallimar, s/r, another nice one, not so mature as the two above. PGB
(15,1) 1 Brown’s Garbosa Chocolate Vogue, stood out in this class & won it with
ease, pleasing head, good reachy neck, lovely front & shoulder, adequate
hindquarters & moves with plenty of drive, excellent outline on the move, lovely
colour & superb pigment, for a chocolate; 2 Farmer’s Jenwood Morning Mist, s/r
excels in front assembly, has lovely outline on the move but is a little narrow
through the pelvis & tends to move a little close behind, this may improve with
maturity; 3 Cope’s Charionah Coteaux du Layon, cream, very pretty bitch of a
taller type than the two above, moves well. LB (16,1) 1
Norton’s Hi Kings Road JP Ruby Tuesday at Halunke, pleasing head, would prefer a
slightly tighter eye, adequate reach of neck, excellent front & shoulders, good
length & spring of rib, powerful quarters which she uses to the full, won this
class on her free flowing movement & outline on the move; 2 Wallace’s Cheslan
Fenfushi Rah, very glamorous red with a superb front, not the rear extension on
the winner; 3 Blackshaw’s Ravenways Give Me Time, red another of a really nice
type who is sound to go over & moves well. OB (15,10) 1
Goddard’s Ch Minard Krystal Darque, b/t have awarded her a CC & BOB before & is
as lovely now as she was then. I was delighted & very proud to see her go G2,
thank you Krystal for being such a wonderful ambassador for our breed & pulling
out all the stops in the group; 2 Holmes’ Tammera Touch Of Elegance, she is a
lovely bitch & has been most unfortunate to have followed Krystal through her
show career, she’s beautifully made & moves with precision & elegance; 3
Norton’s Halunke Just Jessica, b/t, lovely outline, well constructed, moves
well, a little chubby on the day could do with being just that shade more trim
in the loin, she is not a big bitch & cannot afford to carry that little extra
weight. GCB (1) 1 Hine’s Ivyjos Miss Lilly, pretty little b/t
who shows extremely well in unison with her young handler & presented in
beautiful condition.
