MINIATURE LONG HAIRED
I was pleased with the quality entry & well satisfied with my winners. It is several years since I judged Min L/h Dachshunds & was disappointed to find so many narrow fronts with correspondingly incorrect front action. There were also too many with lack of ribbing & insufficient reach of neck.
PD (5) 1 Brock’s Lyndarlea Atlantica, very stylish b/t, good length & body proportions, well angulated, sound mover, covering the ground with confidence, an easy winner. BP; 2 Kennedy’s Denkena’s Solar Storm, b/t, different type, strong masculine head, much cobbier but very sound & well ribbed, firm topline, strong hindquarters, moved well; 3 Oxley’s Dinkidax Austin Rova. JD (2) 1 Coad & Blackburn-Bennett’s Abydachs Amos, substantial young dog, impressive outline, good neckline, strong firm body, good depth & ribbing, moved out well with purpose. Just a little untidy in front action; 2 Bell’s Larkhund Jack Of Diamonds, b/t, more refined head than 1. Not as good in forehand, good strong body & firm topline, well angulated rear, firm quarters. Did not have the panache or movement of 1. PGD (5) 1 Brook’s Layways Piper for Lyndarlea, well coated glamorous cream, lovely head, dark pigmentation, well put together, strongest of hindquarters, looked a picture striding around the ring. Would prefer more prominent forechest; 2 Dutson’s Rossdach Red Leader from Rosglen, lovely sh/r of excellent type & sound construction, strong body, excellent ribbing & keel, sound mover; 3 Charnley’s Northnook Rafferty. LD (4) 1 McAlpine & Walsh’s Walpines Flamin Red, glamorous red, in top class condition, perfectly balanced boy & so well constructed, long, low & level, steady fluent mover, did not put a foot wrong. CC, his first; 2 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Fizical Attracts, dark choc, well constructed, strong masculine head, good spring of rib, good keel & firm topline, covered the ground well. Could not match the front action of 1; 3 Phillips’ Metadale Secret Assignment. OD (4,1a) 1 Brooks’ Ch Lyndarlea Choc Ice, lovely champion of sound construction & good balance, powerful quarters used to advantage on the move. Pressed hard for the ticket but I preferred the head, expression & extra reach of neck of CC winner. RCC; 2 Jamieson‘s Silvo Ado by D’Jeata, very attractive elegant silver dapple but of different & taller type than 1. Stylish true mover, could carry a little more weight & preferred the ribbing of 1, close decision; 3 Paterson’s Wilmaranna James Bond.
PB (3) 1 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Muffin, promising 6 months b/t baby, sound construction, good body proportions, well angulated, deep chest & good keel, happy temperament & when settled covered the ground with ease; 2 Kennedy‘s Denkenas Ugly Betty, well presented b/t, correct straight coat, excellent feet & bone, strong topline, ribbing well back, showed well. Preferred the quarters of 1; 3 Mee’s Barlaines Summer Star. JB (5,1) 1 Geeson’s Abydachs Absolution, my find of the day, stunning b/t, excellent coat & condition, superb body shape, correct angulation. Just flowed around the ring, moving truly. RCC; 2 King’s Bronia Royal Rose with Kingsdax, quality b/t, excellent construction, well balanced, good angulation & strong topline, moved soundly. Did not have the ground coverage or presence of 1; 3 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Sunset. PGB (7,1) 1 Heiser’s Polinard Grace In Favour, cream, in first class order, beautifully groomed coat, soundly constructed, firm body & good topline, good dark points, steady mover; 2 Charnley’s Northnook Lucyanna, lovely headed b/t, taller type than 1, well constructed throughout, good top & underlines, good free mover. Just preferred front action of 1. A close decision; 3 Laird’s Flavian Bonye at Morn. LB (4) 1 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Dark Moment, quality exhibit, so much to like, lovely head, well constructed front, good body shape & keel, well ribbed, strong quarters, moved out well holding her level topline; 2 Cooper’s Jumanda’s Gipsy Silver, lovely silver dapple, beautiful head, so sound & well constructed, shapely body, lovely outline, flowed effortlessly around the ring, so well presented, very close decision; 3 Shutt’s Chocolate Enchantress of Donnadoon. OB (8) 1 Goddard’s Ch Minard Krystal Dargue, delighted to have the opportunity to judge this well known winner. Still looking good at 7 years, beautiful feminine head & keen expression, so balanced, everything fits into place, such a sound mover, almost perfect. CC; 2 McAlpine & Walsh’s Ir/Ch Walpine’s Lavender Lady, clear red of good balance & substance, so sound throughout, presented in immaculate condition, loved her strong well rounded quarters, sound true mover. A little more reach of neck would complete the picture; 3 McAlpine & Walsh’s Walpines Queen’s Courtier.
