MINIATURE LONGHAIRED

Firstly I must apologise for being late, and thank my steward, Mr Rowell, who made my day run smoothly. We have had a tough time in our breed, but having worked together to do the necessary testing and selective breeding, the breed is improving again. There are some promising youngsters coming through. Heads were lovely, good bone, tight feet with short nails, longer necks with better shoulder placement, but short keels and ribbing still need attention. Many of the dogs potter round with no drive at all, this is most unattractive in an outdoor and vigorous breed like ours. MPD (3,1) 1 Bell's Tolberg Holluys Little Cream. Very promising baby. Lovely bone and strong movement. 2 Oxley's Dinkidax Austin Rova. Very immature and rather straight in stifle. Lacks drive at this early stage of his development. PD (6) A good class of youngsters who will help the breed to progress. 1 Brooks' Lyndarlea Atlantis. What a beauty. Elegance and type from nose to tail. Lovely head and eye, long neck and well placed shoulders. Long ribbing, good bone and feet and moves out well. He typifies all the beauty of our breed. Best Puppy. 2 Graham's Jadag Fortons Caramel. A nice puppy with a lovely chocolate coat. He has a shorter neck and ribbing than the winner, but he moved out positively on well boned legs and feet. 3 Barlain's Golden Striker. JD (3) 1 Lockett-Walters and Walters' Ralines Red Kuri. A handsome and masculine red dog with length and elegance. A good head and neck and well placed shoulders, long ribbing and powerful quarters. He moves out well on well boned legs and true, large Dachshund feet. I was very impressed as he is still young and was pleased to award him the CC. This dog and the puppy winner had the same sire anfd they have inherited his good qualities. A force for the future of the breed, I am sure. 2 Booth's Asbach Andreas. What a lovely shaded red dog. Good keel and ribbing on this one also, good bone and feet and he moved out well. A little apprehansive but has time on his side to overcome this. 3 Kobo First Chance. YD (1) 1 Bell's Larkhund Jack of Diamonds. A stylish black and cream with a good keel and ribbing. Moving out well, a little narrow all through. PGD (1) 1 Mees' Barlains Midnight Prince. A beautiful headed male full of type and quality. Nice neck and well placed shoulders, good ribbing and moved soundly. Needs a little more assertiveness. LD (3) 1 De Haviland's Elliscottage Story Teller. A black and tan with length and elegance. A lovely head, good neck and shoulders, ribbing ok and he moved out well. 2 Lockett-Walter's and Walters' Metadale Dick Turpin. A correctly made red dog and shorter in body. Excellent ribbing and good bone and feet. e moved out very well, a force in the breed at stud, I dare say. 3 Layway's Piper for Lyndarlea JW. OD (3) 1 Graham and Wood's Ch Jadag Fortons Special. A lovely black and tan with quality and type. Good shoulders and ribbing and put down to perfection. A worthy Ch and easy winner of this class. Res CC. 2 Brooks' Lyndarlea Fizical Attracts. JW. Nice chocolate dog but I would like more neck and better shoulder placement. He moved out well. 3 Kriskim Ray of Sunlight. MPB (5) 1 Brooks' Lyndarlea Muffin. Exquisite baby, elegant and perfect for type. Lovely bone and feet, good shoulders and ribbing. Most promising. 2 Oxley's Dinkidax Dollipop. A nice black and cream baby with good bone and feet. Not the scope of the winner. 3 Ravenways Wishin and Hopin. PB (5) 1 Angears' Ridgegrove Moonglow. A lovely head on this baby. Good bone and feet and she is well bodied. Moved out strongly, very promising. 2 Herdman's Daxdaze Keeping the Magic. Lighter boned than the winner and smaller feet, but a nice elegant type with good keel and ribbing. 3 Barlain's Summer Star. JB (7) A really excellent class. 1 Lockett-Walters and Walter's Ralines Aubra Jean. A lovely headed black and cream with good shoulders and long ribbing. Excellent bone and feet, neat short hocks and easy movement. 2 King's Bronia Royal Rose with Kingsdax. A lovely elegant black and tan with good shoulders and length of ribbing. Slightly less bone than the winner but I liked her a lot. 3 Yumar's Smart Enough. PGB (5,2) 1 Welton's Chelane Pure Magic. Lovely quality black and tan with good bone and feet. A nice neck with well placed shoulders and good ribbing. Moved out stylishly. Res CC. 2 Graham's Hillstar Lexzina of Jadag. A lovely quality bitch, close up to the winner, just not so long in ribbing. Moved out well. 3 Barlain's Country Classic. LB (5,1) 1 Blackshaw's Ravenways Drama Queen. A glorious red put down to the minute. Lovely head and neck, well placed shoulders and good ribbing. Although not a big one, she has good bone and tight feet. Self assured and easy movement that could go all day. She appealed to me very much. CC and BOB. 2 De Haviland's Elliscottage Story Time. This is a pretty red bitch with a good head and neck and nice ribbing. Moved out well, though not with the drive of the winner. 3 Barlain's Amber Star. OB (5) 1 Mees' Barlaines Dark Delight. What a lovely black and tan, has the type and elegance which I admire so much. Lovely head, good neck and well placed shoulders, good ribbing. Sadly not co-operating with her owner. 2 Holmes' Ch Tammera Touch of Elegance. A beautiful red at the height of her maturity and one I have always admired, as I did her sire. Nice head with a good neck and shoulders and nice ribbing. Good bone and feet. I was disappointed that this scopy bitch did not move out with any drive on the day. 3 Lyndarlea Dark Moment. AV Vet (3) Three lovely Champions, a joy to judge. 1 McCarthy's Ch Seatris Laced with Success. Std Smooth. A handsome black and tan with that lovely arrogant look. Well placed shoulders and long keel and ribbing, all that we strive for. 2 Shutt's Ir Ch Jadag Cadbury Rose. Mini Long. Long, elegant, feminine and such a pretty chocolate dapple coat. Moved out well. 3 Ch Djeata Riven Within the Ring - Mini Long. Alf Hague Memorial Sp P (3,1) 1 Mead's Minimead Minisota - Mini Smooth. A lovely balanced red with a good male head, good neck, shoulders and ribs. He moved out truly. 2 Kempton-Thorne's Lord of the Dance with Knockboy - Mini Smooth. A lovely long elegant red/brindle, well placed shoulders with such a long keel and ribbing. Less positive in hind movement, perhaps could be taken a little slower while he settles. Evelyn Dodgson Memorial Sp J (2) 1 Holland's Jealroie Black Candle at Zarosa. Mini Smooth. Nice little black and tan, pretty head and a nice neck and good shoulders and ribbing. Moved out well on tight feet. 2 Callow's Metadale Miranda. Std Long. Rather masculine in head for me and heavy in body. Needs to fine down a bit as she is not heavily boned and it would make her look more feminine. Moved out very soundly.

 MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED

I was pleased to note there were no thin exhibits, all were well covered. Temperaments were excellent. Front and rear movement was poor. I look for a well balanced, free mover and these were sadly lacking. Also toplines need to improve. MPD (5) 1 Young's Tarkus Windy Miller. Smart small brindle. SMOOTH HAIRED

MPD. (1). 1. Grahams', Gameron Simply Red. As the name implies young red male with well defined skull shape, pleasing eye and correct mouth. Kept a good topline on the move. Still very raw but full of promise. PD. (2). 1. McCarthy's, Topthorne Gregory at Seatris. Another red male youngster. Larger type than Minor Puppy. Carrying plenty of substance. Well presented and handled. Needs time. PGD. (2). 1. Cooper's, Sontag Marcus Absent. Super head piece on this black and tan male. Good mouth. Strong well muscled animal. Moved with ease around the ring. 2. Davies's, Undeg Humming Top. Red male, not as masculine as the winner I would like more substance in a male. LD. (8). 1. Kerry's, Sontag Sir Cumference of Kireton. Black and tan male. Good honest dog with very appealing head piece, correct mouth. Well defined and flowing neck into good shoulders. Level topline which he kept on the move. Has plenty of breed appeal, plus a very steady temperament which comes across in his handling and presentation. This in mind I was pleased to award him the CC. 2. Bethel's, Hampdach Pyrrus. Red smaller type than winner. Shapely head and eye, correct mouth. Level backline. Pleasing angles all through. 3. Cedavoch Honour Bound. OD. (5). 1. Cooper's, Ch. Sontag Simon Le Bone JW. Black and tan male. Lovely type so much to offer the breed. The best of heads, good mouth. Well boned with super feet. Does not always give the best of himself but nevertheless you cannot overlook him. A very worthy title holder. RCC. 2. Rawson's, Ch. Rosenket Kaptain Kirk. Black and tan. Well presented and handled. Another very worthy Champion. Poses a lovely picture on the stack with bags of breed appeal. 3. Cedavoch Galadrim. MPB. (4). 1. Norton's, Matzell Mildred. Red youngster presented a lovely image on the stack. Out of all the puppies here on the day she was the most together in all departments. BP. 2. Rosenket Melody Maker. Black and tan baby who just needs time. I am sure these two will change places often as they both mature. 3. Punter's, Abbagirl Here I Am at Wecumen. PB. (2). 1. Norton's, Matzell Mildred. JB. (4). 1. Bethels', Hampdach Saving Grace. 2. Turner's, Marictur Moulin Rouge. Both these young red bitches have a lot of maturing to do. You can find lots to like about both but on the day winner had more body length which gave her more of an elegant outlook. Both have stacks of time and I am sure will mature on nicely. 3. Cedavoch I Love to Boogie. YB. (3). 1. Turner's, Marictur Moulin Rouge. 2. Nevitt's, Churchoak Nin's Naughtier at Swynol. Chocolate and tan. Well handled by her young handler. I felt on the day that she would have benefited being a few pounds lighter. This would have give her more elegance and a keener outline. PGB. (2). 1. Grahams', Roleta Red Letter Day for Gameron. This was another bitch who would have looked a lot better for loosing a few pounds. Having said that, is sound enough was very easy to go over. I preferred her shoulder placement and better feet over second which won her the class. 2. Holburn's, Phaeland Strathisla Dawn. Clear red. She has a very appealing head and eye, but I would like a better shoulder with thicker feet. LB. (5). 1. Lovick-Gibbs', Roleta Keepin Up Appearances. Yet another red. Lovely type sound as a bell with enough bone for her size. Very feminine throughout. Level topline which was kept at all times. Moved out well. 2. Rawson's, Churckoak Some Like it Hot at Rosenket. Chocolate and tan. Loved her head and eye shape. Very sound all through. Close between these two. 3. Marictur Uptown Madam. OB. (4). 1. Bethels', Ch. Hampdach Alinga JW. Clear red bitch I have never seen her look better. Beautiful head and eye, well made throughout. Level topline which she maintained at all times. Loved her outline on the stack. Drove out well with enough purpose on the move. Good angulation behind. Certainly made the most of herself on the day. Pleased to award her CC and BOB. 2. Hunt's, Ch. Carpaccio Precious Pearl. Enough of her but you have to go over her to appreciate this. Sound as a bell. Smart mover. Well handled and presented. RCC. 3. Ch. Matzell Maid of Honour. 4. Rosenket Krystal Singer. These made up a class of four worthy winners in the breed.
