MINIATURE LONGHAIRED: I was very impressed with the overall level of quality in this variety. I was spoilt for choice in several classes, especially in the bitches, with lovely exhibits right down the line. Forequarter construction has improved considerably, as has ground clearance, and these two features coupled with well angulated hindquarters led to much better movement, with most exhibits covering the ground with extension and length of stride. There were far fewer "tummy-tappers" in evidence. I was also pleased to find fewer profusely coated dogs. Temperaments were good, with just a mere handful showing slight apprehension. The only negative which still needs addressing is poor pigmentation. I found far too many with light coloured nails and some needing darker nose pigment too. V (5, 1) All exhibits were presented in good condition and are a credit to their owners. 1 Earley's Yelva Lady Wilhelmina To Warway Well constructed, elegant black and tan bitch. Feminine head, well placed shoulders and good spring of rib and overall body shape. Held her outline well on the move. 2 Duchesne's Scandell's Ring Master. Brindle dog with a rather profuse coat. Well boned with good substance throughout and masculine outlook. Holding his topline well in profile movement. 3 Broad's Jenwood Ring Of Bells. MPD (5, 1) 1 Brown's Garbosa Fire King. Well schooled, compact red. Good bone and substance throughout and good spring of rib. Well angulated quarters, but would prefer a better lay of shoulder. At present his forequarters are not quite in balance with his hindquarters. Moved with confidence. 2 Leyshon's Picklescott Gustav. Rangier type black and tan. Strong masculine head with pleasing expression. Also well boned throughout, with good overall body shape. Moving a little erratically at times. Just needs more ring training and to gain in confidence, which hopefully will come with time. 3 Way's Sudasam A Touch Of Magic. PD (5, 1) 1 Brooks' Lyndarlea Bubbles. Impressive chocolate dapple with great ring presence. Compact and well bodied with moderate angulation at both ends. Tight feet. Really comes into his own on the move. Parallel action coming and going and free mover in profile, holding a level topline at all times. Best Dog Puppy. 2 Renton & Brown's Garbosa Catcha Moonbeam. Cream litter brother to 1st in Minor Puppy and I much prefer this one. Well proportioned head, better shoulders than his brother and well angulated hindquarters. Sound, free mover, just flies his tail a little. Very promising. 3 King's Kingsdax Chase The Dream. JD (5) 1 Boyle's Zarcrest Ice Conqueror. Eye-catching shaded cream who commands attention as he enters the ring. Presents a balanced picture and everything flowed under my hands on the table examination. Masculine head proudly carried on lengthy neck. Well placed shoulders, firm level topline held in stance and on the move, and well angulated hindquarters. His quality of conformation translated into sound, free movement and he covered the ground with ease. Well handled. Just needing maturity to complete the full picture. Reserve C.C. 2 Norton's Halunke Hot Toddy. Smaller size, elegant red, also looking a little immature, but he is only just over 12 months old. Well angulated in both fore and hindquarters with a firm, level topline held at all times. Just needs maturity of body to finish his development. Moved freely and with true, parallel action coming and going. Quality dog. 3 Leyshon's Picklescott Vincenzi. PGD (8) 1 Poole's Findowrie City Slicker. Compact shaded red in full coat. Well boned and with good feet. Masculine head, good shoulder placement and pleasing body shape with firm topline and flowing underline to balance. Well angulated hindquarters. Displayed parallel movement up and back and strode out with freedom in profile, holding his shape. Profuse coat on his neck slightly detracts from the overall picture, but a quality dog overall. 2 Brooks' Lyndarlea Atlantica. Quality black and tan of different type to 1st, being slightly longer-bodied. Strong masculine head to be admired. Presents a well balanced picture with correctly constructed fore and hindquarters and as to be expected from his quality of conformation, moves out freely and keeps his shape well in profile. 3 McCarthy's Nagshall All Guns Blazing. LD (6) Good Class. 1 Richardson's Sirrondach Ebony Damon Hill. Beautifully constructed black and tan, presented in full coat in gleaming condition. Very satisfying to go over, having correctly placed shoulders, firm level topline with good depth and spring of rib, and well angulated hindquarters to complete the picture. Has good bone and substance throughout. Sound, steady mover who held his shape in profile action at all times and moved parallel coming and going. 2 Brooks' Lyndarlea Fizical Atraks. Dark chocolate who impressed for masculinity and strength of movement, holding his outline well in profile action. Well proportioned head, proudly carried on the move. Moderately angulated dog with good substance throughout. Moved with parallel action up and back. 3 Cawley & King's Creekpit Black Opal At Summerview. OD (7) 1 Turner's Ch. Rafthouse Herr Flick. Stunning silver dapple who excels in ring presence and movement. Arrogant head carriage, lengthy neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Firm level topline held in stance and on the move with good flow of underline to balance and correctly angulated hindquarters. Everything fits together seamlessly and his quality of conformation and good ground clearance enabled him to cover the ground effortlessly with stylish, sound action, having reach in front and hind extension in profile and parallel movement up and back. Loved him. C.C. 2 Brooks' Ch. Lyndarlea Choc Ice. Beautiful compact and well boned chocolate I have judged previously as a youngster and still like him as a mature adult. My hands flowed over him on the table. Copybook construction. Has a well proportioned head, as did all exhibits from this kennel. Excels in shoulder placement, correct forechest, body shape and well let down hindquarters. Moved soundly and covered the ground steadily with a free stride. 3 Young's Willowheath Hendrix. MPB (6, 1a) 1 Lockett-Walters' Ralines Summer Storm. Beautifully constructed light red attending her first show, and what a start to her career! Caught my eye on the first circuit of the ring with her balanced outline and overall quality of conformation. Feminine head, good reach of neck, well placed shoulders leading to a level topline - a rarity in most bitch puppies of this age. Well let down quarters. Moved steadily and held her topline and overall shape at all times viewed in profile. Best Puppy and Reserve Best Puppy In Show. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Puppet On A String. Feminine shaded cream with quality conformation. Well angulated in fore and hindquarters, good body shape and outline which she held on the move. Just flying her tail a little. 3 Halsall's Rossdach Secret Sonata For Kiddles. PB (4) 1 Young's Willowheath Marillion. Mature, well-bodied and compact red. Good bone and substance throughout, but retains her femininity. Well placed shoulders, good overall body shape with pleasing spring and depth of rib and well angulated hindquarters. Moved with style and confidence holding her outline in profile action. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Puppet On A String. 3 Woodage's Rossdach Secret Society For Totonian. JB (4) 1 Thomas' Shenaligh Sweet Surprise. Beautiful and elegant black and tan of quality, who captivated me on entering the ring. Attractive, well proportioned head carried on a good length neck. Correct shoulder placement, good forechest, top and underline, leading to well angulated hindquarters. Her quality of conformation enabled her to step out freely, with good length of stride in profile and parallel action coming and going. Presented in gleaming full coat and sympathetically handled. Absolutely loved her. Reserve C.C. against stiff opposition. 2 Young's Willowheath Madonna. Another high class exhibit from this kennel. Well constructed black and tan with good bone and substance throughout. Balanced angulation at both ends and pleasing overall body shape with firm, level topline, held on the move. Strode out freely with confidence and maintained her outline at all times. Just preferred the head and expression of 1st. 3 Geeson's Abydachs Angelica. PGB (11, 2) Very strong class. Spoilt for choice. 1 Brooks' Lyndarlea Muffin. Eye-catching black and tan of quality, with balanced overall outline. Beautiful feminine head, carried proudly on reachy neck. Well placed shoulders, prominent breastbone, good length and spring of rib, correct body shape and topline and well angulated hindquarters. Moved with style and freedom, covering the ground with a good length of stride and parallel up and back action. Correct coat presented in gleaming condition. Well handled. 2 Norton's Halunke Gabriella. Well constructed, feminine red, with a lovely outline and movement. Good head, length of neck and well placed shoulders. Firm, level topline maintained in stance and in profile movement. Well constructed hindquarters. Moved with an effortless, free stride, covering the ground with ease. Close decision. Two lovely bitches. 3 Young's Willowheath Frosting Angel. LB (9, 2a) Another hotly contested class with quality right down the line. 1 Turner's Rafthouse Eternity. Quality black and tan, with great ring presence, confidence and eye-catching profile action like her kennel-mate, the dog CC winner and I see they are out of the same bitch. Well balanced outline which she holds in stance and in profile movement. Feminine head, lengthy neck, correctly angulated fore and hindquarters. Firm topline and good flow of underline. Really comes into her own on the move and covers the ground effortlessly with powerful, lengthy stride and parallel action up and back. Just needing a little more maturity to complete the picture. Very well handled. 2 Norton's Halunke Casalani. Lengthier black and tan in full coat. Well proportioned head, but would prefer slightly more oval eye shape. Well boned throughout and has very correct conformation. My hands flowed over her on the table and everything fits together well. Lovely body shape, spring of rib and topline. Quality bitch who moved with free stride in profile and parallel action up and back. 3 McCarthy's Nagshall My Fair Lady. OB (12, 4a) 1 Holmes' Ch. Tammera Touch Of Elegance. Appropriately named, glamorous light red who captured my attention on entering the ring. Excels in outline and movement. Presented in gleaming condition and sympathetically handled to produce a faultless performance. Feminine head carried proudly on lengthy neck. Copybook construction, having well placed shoulders, good length of upper arm to balance and correct forechest. Has a good length and spring of rib producing a pleasing body shape with well angulated hindquarters and good bend of stifle to complete the picture. Her movement was a joy to watch. She covered the ground with an effortless and free stride in profile and parallel action up and back. Loved her. C.C., and B.O.B. 2 Norton's Ch. Halunke Shallimar. Must have been a frustrating day for this exhibitor, with yet another 2nd place in this class! Another high class and elegant bitch from this consistent kennel. Beautiful stylish red with feminine outlook. Excellent construction throughout and movement to match. Well angulated at both ends and her quality of conformation reflects in free, ground-covering action on the move. Held her shape at all times in stance and movement. 3 Burge & Rossiter's Rafthouse Rainbow's End At Creekpit
