MINIATURE LONG HAIRED

I have always been happy to weigh the Miniature Daxies, but found the whole exercise somewhat fraught with difficulties at this show. I am not trying to attribute blame to anyone, but the scales did at times seem to have a mind of their own. Suffice to say, I think most ended feeling we got it about right. I am not privy as to why the KC have abandoned weighing, but I am sure any complaints (if there are any) will not receive much sympathy from HQ. Firstly, I want to mention my CC winners. Both so good. Enough length of leg for ample ground clearance, and not overcoated, add to this their excellent type, the correct make and shape and soundness of movement, they are a credit to the breed. Also followed closely by the Res CC winners, all of excellent merit and excellent examples. Main faults I found today were a great number were too loo too ground and in fact had little or no clearance between their brisket and the ground. Quite a number had round eyes and small teeth. The jaws should be strong with powerful teeth, even in a Miniature. Some overlong in body. It is interesting that the standard calls for the body to be ‘compact!’ There seems to be a trend to breed for more coat over the years, ideally the coat should not obstruct the outline. Some good puppies also out today, which augers well for the breed.

VD/B (3) 1 Cooper’s Jumanda’s Lily. Sound, very good type and quality, moving and covering the ground well. 2 Bainbridge’s Oakboro Debonair At Helenium. Excellent movement, carries his years well. 3 Bainbridge’s Lynbain Lady Liza.

MPD(2) 1 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Raferty. BP. Cream with excellent dark pigment and eyes, good ground clearance, at 6 months moving and showing with confidence. 2 Cooper’s Jumanda’s Ebony Astronaught. Very forward and well shown for age, quality head and eye.

PD(3, 1) 1 Holden’s Sengepabu Dark Thunder. Grand head and eye, would like a shade more length of leg, excellent topline. 2 Cooper’s Jumanda’s Ebony Astronaught.

JD(5, 1) 1 Holden’s Sengepabu Saint Valentine. Topline correct, pleasing jacket, showing with style, good tail carriage. 2 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Bubbles. Close finish, lovely head and eye, striding out well, can turn the tables. 3 Holden’s Lyndarlea Black Ace At Sengepabu.

PGD(6) 1 Brearley’s Lyndarlea Silver Wave At Xanadax. With more training could be in the top flight, fills the eye with his overall quality and soundness, needs more ring training. 2 Kennedy’s Denkenas Solar Storm. Smart dog, not over coated, has the type and quality to win well. 3 Cooper’s Jealroie Sir Percival At Jumanda.

LD(7, 1) 1 and DCC, Hallett’s Cagebrook Jimmy Choo At Loretto. No exaggeration, grand pattern of the breed, excellent head and eye, correct length of leg and not overcoated, soundest of movers. 2 Evans’ Lyndarlea Silver Moon. Quality head and eye, not putting all in today, has the potential. 3 Poole’s Findowrie City Slicker.

OD(7) 1 and Res DCC, Boyle’s Ch Zarcrest Ice Conqueror. Top class, the darkest of points and eyes, compact and moving well, correct coat. 2 Poole’s Findowrie Skye Lord. Good head and eye, excellent coat, moving out well, classy dog. 3 Brooks’ Layways Piper For Lyndarlea JW.

MPB(5) 1 King’s Kingsdax Adorabelle. Good topline, showing and moving well, excellent head and eye. 2 Cooper’s Jumanda’s Silver Moonlight. So very good, excellent head and eye, can finish well, does not need to grow on. 3 Otter’s Lyndarlea Spangle At Portalutra.

PB(7) 1 Clewes’ Torwood Declaration At Shardbeck. High class, excellent feet, moving out well, good head and eye. 2 Lockett-Walters &Walters’ Ralines Summer Storm. Similar type and quality, not so forward, lovely puppies. 3 Mee’s Barlaine’s Black Princess.

JB(3, 1) 1 Rees’ Rafthouse Classic Cliche At Amical. BCC and BOB. High class, excellent feet, correct length of leg, quality head and eye, moving out well, sound fore and aft, a pleasure to judge. 2 Geeson’s Abydachs Angelica. Has the type and the quality, not so firm in front.

PGB(10) 1 Johnson’s Charpurdy Just Iss. Excellent pattern, head and eye, moving out well. 2 Tattersall’s Asbach Artimis At Alanea. Close up, head and eye pleasing. 3 Cooper’s Jumanda’s Holly Berry.

LB(11, 2) 1 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Muffin. Has substance with quality, classy, sound mover. 2 Shutt’s Donnadoon Nutmeg. Sound mover, well balanced, all quality. Dogs were feeling the intense heat in these classes. 3 Halsall’s Kiddles Painted Bronze.

OB(8) 1 Mee’s Barlaine’s Dark Delight. Res CC. Another combining substance with quality, strong, sound mover. 2 Jamieson’s Djeata Cosmopolitan. Close up here, excellent pattern. 3 Welton’s Chelane Pure Magic.
