Dachshund (Min Long-Haired)

MINIATURE LONGHAIRED

 A good entry and not many absentees. I found some of the lower classes rather mixed in size, type and quality. There were many upright shoulders and short necks and quite a few stood rather cow hocked on the table. I still worry about the fact that some are shown in very lean condition. I don’t like to feel just skin and bone, that is not what a fit and healthy show dog is all about.

MPD(5, 1) 1 Halsall’s Kiddles The Maestro. 7 months b/t of good type, well boned, moved better in front than the others in this class, outgoing personality, attractive head, good coat. 2 King’s Maydays Major Event At Kingsdax. 7 months b/t, excellent coat but needs a little more body, moved well behind, decent topline, masculine head, sympathetically handled. 3 Poole’s Findowrie Mr McDuff.

PD(8, 2) 1 and BP,  Turner’s Rafthouse Gee Whizz. Mature looking b/t of almost a year, really stepped it out on the move, well placed shoulders, very good topline, glamorous coat, well presented, animated showman who used his neck, good length of head, handled to very best advantage. 2 Barrow’s Zarcrest Dancing On Ice To Frankanwen. 10 months b/cream, good head, lovely eyes, excellent bone, legs and feet, good front and front movement, well proportioned and bodied, clean coat, standing a shade cow hocked on the table but moved with style. 3 Cawley &King’s Summerview Make Way For Roo.

JD(6, 2) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Oklahoma Sunrise. Well bodied yearling red, pleasing head and expression, good topline and overall proportions, moved quite well, just needs a little more coat to complete the picture. 2 Gallagher’s Galrhia Icing On The Cake. 14 months chocolate dapple, masculine head, good bone and topline, moved ok, needs to carry more weight, would like a more prominent breastbone, well presented and handled. 3 Holden’s Sengepabu Dark Thunder.

PGD(5) 1 Holden’s Sengepabu Saint Valentine. 20 months red, easy winner here, good body and coat, attractive head, dark eyes, held his topline on the move, happy showman. 2 Cooper’s Jealroie Sir Percivale At Jumanda. 2 years old red, a little out at elbow, typical head and expression, well coated and bodied, moved ok. 3 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Bubbles.

LD(8) 1 Poole’s Findowrie City Slicker. Very smart 2 year old red in good form, excellent body and topline, good feet, low set hocks, clean well presented coat, appealing head and expression, moved and showed well. 2 Lockett-Walters’ Ralines Red Kuri. Two and a half years old red, excellent coat and condition, attractive head, dark eyes, well ribbed up, moved and showed with confidence, not as good in front or feet as above. 3 McCarthy’s Nagshall All Guns Blazing.

OD (10) Very good class. 1 and CC, Wood’s Ch Wildstar Wrenowned JW. Two and a half years b/t, all quality dog in excellent form, firm body, good length of head, intelligent expression, well fitting jacket, held his topline on the move, good bone and feet, easy mover, composed showman, well handled. 2 and RCC, Brown’s Ch/Am Ch Rafthouse Raising Hell At Garbosa JW (Re Imp). Three and a half years chocolate/tan, full of himself on the move, big personality who was at one with his owner, making the most of his assets, good bone and feet, pleasing head, another who held his topline going round, needs to carry more weight. 3 Poole’s Findowrie Skye Lord.

MPB(4) 1 and Best PB, Bedford’s Dinkidudlor Isha Aurog. 7 months shaded red, pretty head, intelligent dark eyes, excellent coat, body and topline, very together on the move for one so young, steady showgirl. 2 Poole’s Findowries Creme Caramelle. 7 months shaded cream, scopy puppy who just needs to settle in front movement, good neckline, body and coat, low set hocks, delightful little character, sweet expression, well proportioned, close up. 3 Holden’s Sengepabu Sammy Short Legs.

PB(5, 3) 1 Cooper’s Jumanda’s Silver Moonlight. 10 months silver dapple, easy winner, very good outline, excellent bone, quality head, well turned out, moving a little close behind but made a good overall impression, sired by CC winner. 2 Welton’s Chelane Creme Brulee. Nine and a half months shaded cream, ultra feminine head, nice expression, clean coat, failed in movement, sympathetically handled.

JB(10, 2) 1 Lockett-Walters’ Ralines Summer Storm. 14 months red, quality young bitch with good outline and overall proportions, feminine head and outlook, would like better pigmentation around the eyes, showed well with firm topline, good coat and body, steady mover. 2 Stephani’s Torwood Guns N Roses At Walnutfarm. 15 months shaded red, needs a bit more coat for a more finished look, attractive head, lovely body and quarters, confident showgirl. 3 Clewes’ Torwood Declaration At Shardbeck.

PGB (11, 3) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Puppet On A String. Shaded cream of 17 months, very pretty head, excellent body and topline, well padded feet, good bone, clean and well presented, moved well. 2 Halsall’s Kiddles Painted Bronze. 2 years old red, smart showgirl with an air of importance on the move, clean outline, expressive eyes, pleasing head. 3 Stephani’s Torwood Guns N Roses At Walnutfarm.

LB(8, 2) 1 Worswick’s Indicott In Tune With Dolyharp. 2 years r/br, held her topline well on the move, attractive bitch of excellent type, well coated and bodied, good length of head, went well, composed showgirl. 2 Young’s Willowheath Frosting Angel. Pretty name for a pretty silver dapple, 2 years old, full of self esteem, good coat and body, well boned, lost her topline a little when moving, feet could be better. 3 Norton’s Halunke Gabriella.

OB(11, 2) Such a good class, most enjoyable. 1, CC and BOB, Geeson’s Ch Abydachs Absolution. Two and a half years b/t in top form, well balanced, fit and healthy, splendid topline, body and quarters, pretty feminine head, sparkling eyes, full of her own importance, no doubt in her mind that everyone should look at her! Swept round the ring moving true both ways, showy and animated, lovely coat. 2 and RCC, Thomas’ Ch Shenaligh Sweet Surprise. 2 years b/t of very nice type, firm fit body, well proportioned, excellent bone, sound mover, attractive head, well carried tail, clean well presented coat, free mover. 3 and not far behind, Turner’s Rafthouse Lucy Lastic. Dam of my BP, good neckline, well presented coat, showed with style, superbly handled and conditioned. Three first class bitches.
