DACHSHUND - MINIATURE LONG HAIRED

 I had a most enjoyable day with excellent organisation from my stewards and variable weather, but thankfully we were able to stay outside. Most of the Dachshunds were of good quality and I was delighted with dogs and bitches in the challenges as they went around the ring as they looked lovely altogether. Temperaments on the whole were good but quite a few teeth needed tartar removing. A number of exhibits appeared to look more toyish rather than houndy in type and were a little small for me. Generally with regard to size, most Dachshunds were under the desired maximum of 11lbs and were well covered, but a few dogs let the side down and were not, and consequently I was unable to consider these for awards, which was sad.

MPD(4) 1 Holden's Sengepabu Ares. Nicely constructed chocolate with good head and well ribbed moved really well, keeping excellent outline but should mature nicely with time. 2 Broad's Neertanauf Sea Magic. S/red, another quality puppy, good ribbing and moved well, just closer coming towards than first. 3 Green's Neertanauf Callum The One.

PD(6) 1 Hallett's Donnadoon Shadow Phantom Cum Loretto. Lovely quality brindle, excellent head carriage and reach of neck, correct shoulder placement and ribbing, kept super outline covering the ground easily and moved out well in the challenge. 2 Johnson's Charpurdy's Gold McNuggett. Another quality pup, lovely type with excellent front, just not as settled as first on the move, but should mature well. 3 Mee's Barlaine's Star Time.

JD(7) 1 Lockett-Walters &Walters' Ralines Here Comes The Sun. Lovely s/r, super head and front with good shoulder placement and ribbing and nice bone, moved truly both ways and kept outline on the move and moved well. 2 Poole's Findowrie Mr McDuff. S/red baby, nice quality, again with good head and front assembly, shorter in length than first and not as mature, a good dog. 3 Holmes' Tammera Touch Of Class.

SBD (1) 1 Brearley's Lyndarlea Silver Wave At Xandax. Promising young dog with pleasant head, good reach of neck and correct shoulders, would just prefer a little more ribbing and to carry a little more weight.

PGD(8, 2) 1 Barrow's Zarcrest Dancing On Ice To Frankanwen. Close decision but a lovely b/cream dog with a lovely head and eye, good reach of neck and well ribbed, good bone and correct angulation on the back and nice topline on the move. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Oklahoma Sunrise JW. Another quality dog, s/r, but not the ribbing or head of first, moved really well with good outline. 3 Brooks' Lyndarlea Raferty JW.

LD(10, 1) 1 Holden's Sengepabu Saint Valentine. Super quality s/red with all the essentials, lovely front construction and well ribbed and firm quarters, stood out in this class and drove round with good outline. Pleased to award him RCC. 2 Roberts's Ravenways Tornero At Dandydayo. Sound b/tan, not the head of first but excellent shoulders and well ribbed, correctly angulated both ends and moved well. 3 Brooks' Lyndarlea Bubbles.

OD(8) 1 Poole's Findowrie Skye Lord. Super dog in a good class, shaded red with good head and excellent front and ribbing and had good reach on action, drove well on back end covering the ground with ease, presented to perfection, he looked immaculate and well deserved CC, which I am told is his third. 2 Wood's Ch Wildstar Wrenowned JW. Another dog out of the top drawer. B/t with lovely head and reach of neck and correct construction on shoulders and frong, well coated and presentation excellent, not quite the drive of first on the move today but a worthy champion. 3 Hallett's Cagebrook Jimmy Choo At Loretto.

Sp VD/B (4) 1 Brooks' Lyndarlea Earth Tremor. Sound b/t with excellent front assembly and well ribbed, good angulation on the back end and moved out well keeping good outline. 2 Earley's Yelva Silver Cloud. Quality silver dapple with correctly constructed front and good ribbing, nice quarters, another who moved well. 3 Sainsbury's Boscolla The Lady Isabella.

MPB(6) 1 Criscan Karess. Not much to choose between first and second, shaded red, well presented quality baby with sound front construction and good ribbing and lovely head, just needs to settle on the move, looks promising for the future. 2 Hall's Cliffmere Special Edition. Another very nice baby, good front end assembly, nice head and neck and lovely coat, needs to settle on the move but will have a good future I am sure. 3 Green's Neertanauf Lucia Rijker.

PB(7) 1 Sainsbury's Ridgegrove Chocolate Drop At Boscolla. Nice class. Super choc/dapple, loved this baby, correctly constructed all through with good angulation at both ends and excellent ribbing, kept a lovely topline on the move and was true both coming and going, one for the future. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Wings Of Love. Sh/cream, lovely type, excellent shoulders and ribbing, good head and well angulated on hocks, promising. 3 Poole's Findowrie Rings N Roses.

JB(14, 2) 1 Holden's Sengepabu Sammy Short Legs. Shaded cream, easily the best mover in this class, presenting a lovely outline on the move, soundly constructed front with good angulation and ribbing, moved out well. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Wings Of Love. 3 Norton's Halunke Dream Maker.

SBB (3) 1 Beal's Kizbeal Bossy Boots. Shaded cream, another bitch who really stood out in her class with her correct construction, head carriage and lovely ribbing, moved out well with her young handler and had super outline all the time, one to watch, pushed hard for RCC. 2 Clewes' Torwood Declaration At Shardbeck. Quality bitch, good front but not the hind action of first. 3 Murphy's Classidax Penny Black.

PGB (13, 3) 1 Norton's Halunke Sheer Magic. Quality compact b/tan, free moving bitch, correctly constructed all through with excellent front and ribbing and nice head, kept good outline on the move and moved out well. 2 Brown's Devoncream Golden Flair. Well constructed shaded cream with good head carriage and reach of neck, excellent sternum and ribbing, looked lovely standing and moved out well, just lacking in a little coat today. 3 Kennedy's Denkena's Blae Berry.

LB(6) 1 Lockett-Walters &Walters' Ralines Summer Storm. Good class. Top quality red, soundly constructed all through with good angulation both ends, moved true both coming and going and excellent outline as she drove round, lovely bitch. RCC. 2 McCarthyNagshall Puppet On A String JW. Top quality cream, has all the correct essentials with lovely head and reach of neck and excellent front, moved out well. 3 Angear's Ridgegrove Ruby Wax.

OB(9, 1) 1 Graham's Hillstar Lexzina Of Jadag. Black/tan bitch, quality all through and out of the top drawer, I could not fault her, lovely head and reach of neck leading into well laid shoulders, super front, ribbing reaching well back and strong quarters on the back, beautiful coat and a lovely outline on the move completed the picture as she drove round, pleased to award her CC and BOB. 2 Mee's Barlaine's Dark Delight. Another quality b/tan, she had all the essentials and showed well, good head, reach of neck and excellent ribbing and a lovely coat, lovely bitch. 3 Young's Willowheath Frosting Angel.
