Mini Long Haired Dachshund:
It is three years since I last judged my own variety and to say I was bitterly
disappointed in the overall quality is an understatement. There any many
outstanding faults that need to be rectified. We obviously have the situation
that whilst everybody has bred stock to eliminate the eye problems they have
taken the eye off the ball regarding quality and conformation. You walk into the
ring with a dog on the end of the lead not a DNA certificate. I found several
major faults that drastically need attention, these range from round pale eyes,
level bite's lack of rear drive, but the most important of all if the front s
and shoulder assembly. In many cases the scapula is far too upright causing
short upper arm and forward placed shoulders. Good prominent Pro - sternums and
length of sternum are in the minority and some have no pro-sternum whatsoever.
Rear thrust and bad back action will continue to be a problem until you get the
front assembly right. MPD (3,1) 1 Oxley's Dinkidax Grisham,
shown beautifully very well schooled moves true coming and going but lack
pro-sternum and angulation both in shoulder and hindquarter. 2 Shutt's Donnadoon
Razamax lovely outline but would not be handled to access his quality.
PD (5) 1 Angear's Ridgegrove In Disguise. The most outstanding
youngster of the day. B&T Strong masculine head, good strong bite, lovely front,
nice tight fitting elbows, has the required dimple either side of the
pro-sternum which follows through of good length, excellent shoulder and ribbing
strong well angulated hindquarters which he used to the full. Definitely one to
watch for the future RCC & BP. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Just Santana cr has a good
front and shoulder but overall very immature - needs time. 3 Donnadoon Boo Gee
Woogy. JD (6) 1 Grahams Jadag Heir Apparent Choc/Dapple I was
pleasantly surprised when I went over this dog as his colour is an optical
illusion and does not do him justice. Pleasing conical head, correct bite and
good eye shape and colour. Reachy neck, well placed shoulder and good front,
good length to ribbing and strong hindquarters which uses correctly. 2 King's
Doujac Rufus by Kingdax red pleasing head, a little stuffy in neck, true in
front but lacks pro-sternum, good topline on the move but lacks rear drive. 3
Chriskims Dreamcaster. YD (6) 1 Broad's Neertanauf sea Magic
red well put together has all the essentials, won this class on his free flowing
movement, unfortunately right out of coat which would have completed the
picture. 2. Norton's Halunke Special Edition. Magnificent head, lovely eye shape
and good mouth, little stuffy in neck but tight and correctly made in front. 3
Nagshall Walking in the Sun. PGD (10) Leach's Miriadach Red
Barron. Red Lovely clean outline excellent front, good shoulder, well ribbed and
balanced in the rear end, moves soundly keeping a good topline, just simply
needs his coat and a little more confidence. 2 Johnson's Charpurdy Gold
McNuggett B&T very sound masculine dog beautifully presented, keeps a lovely
outline on the move and moves out well. Elbows not a tightly fitting as the
winner. 3 Findowrie Mr McDuff. LD (8,2) 1 Wilson's Dinkidax
Wild Thing of Willott B &T Lovely head and eye, good mouth good reach of neck
and sound front and shoulder construction, this being so could not understand
why he was so short in the ribbing. 2 McCarthys Nagshall Oklahoma Sunshine Cr
well balanced throughout and moves soundly, not co operating with his handler. 3
Yelva Cardamon Prince. OD (5) 1 Brooks Ch Lyndarlea Raferty S/cr
extremely sound dog to go over everything fiting together correctly . Would have
preferred a little more refinement in head but this is nit picking good reach of
neck, good front nice tight fitting elbows good length of ribbing and balanced
hindquarters. Keeps a good outline on the move. CC BOB & BIS. 2 Chriskims Blaze
of Light. Red balanced throughout nicely made would prefer him to be a little
more masculine. 3 Barlaine's Golden Striker. VD (3) 1 Brook's
Ch Lyndarlea Chock Ice C&T. Gave him a rcc as a youngster and he still has all
the required qualities a worth champion and still looking extremely smart. BV. 2
Breese Silkdown on Parade red looking good for his age unlucky to meet Choc Ice.
3 Ch Djeats Riven Within the Ring. MPB (8) 1 Poole's Findowrie
Darcia Rose s/red lovely puppy that really enjoyed her day out what a little
showgirl, sweet head, good mouth, correct eye shape, nicely developed front and
well angled shoulders, moves soundly BPB. 2 Boyle's Doujac Erin of Zarcrest.
Pretty cream presented to perfection soundly made just preferred the pro sternum
on the winner. 3 Dinkidax Magsybabe to Djeata. PB (5) 1 Brooks
Lyndarklea Thumbalina B&T Nicely made has all the essentials but personally I
would prefer her a little lower on the leg which would give her more elegance. 2
D Magsybabe to Djeata nicely shape but preferred the rear movement of the
winner. 3 Nagshall Love Changes This. JB (5) 1 Barnsdale &
Haywards Chriskims Dream Catcher cr. Pleasing head, good reach of neck, correct
front with tight fitting elbows, good shoulder angles, nice ribbing moves
soundly keeping a good outline, good overall balance. 2 Latham-Jackson Urishay
Geranium. I loved this bitch she was lovely to go over and beautifully presented
unfortunately should would not get her head up on the move which spoilt her
outline. 3 Findowrie Flirtation. YB (9) 1 Angears Ridgegrove
Jasmine another nice one from this kennel, front and shoulder spot on, good
ribbing moves with good rear drive. 2 Abydachs Absolutely a quality bitch which
was unfortunate to meet Jasmine whose head I preferred. 3 Gleneddee Miz
Popsicle. PGB (9) 1 Halls s/red Cliffmere Special edition
pleasing head, good reach of neck well angulated construction both ends moves
out well with plenty of drive, just lacking her jacket. 2 McCarthyis Nagshall
Sweet Caroline, not the rear angulation of the winner but a lot to like about
her. 3 Dolyharp Gypsy Music. LB (16,4) 1 McCarthy Nagshall
Puppet on A String. Stunning head, good eye shape and colour, good mouth,
sufficient neck, good tight fitting front with ample pro- sternum which follows
through well, clean shoulders lovely topline which she keeps well on the move,
just need a bit more coat for that finish touch. 2 Sainsbury's Ridgegrove
Chocolate Drop at Boscolla. Choc/dapple another really quality bitch just built
on slighter frame, same qualities apply, unfortunate to meet the winner just a
question of my own personal preference in type. 3 Abydach Apparition. OB
(10,1) 1 Bell's Tolberg Hllys Little Tilly b/cr lovely clean lines a pleasure to
go over with everything fitting together correctly, excels in front and shoulder
and moved out really with plenty of reach and drive, this won her the CC 2
Johnson's Ch Chapurdy Just Iss RCC half sister to the winner and but very much
on the same lines, felt she was a little down on pastern and therefore not so
strong in the feet as Tillly 3 Sanmik Amulet. VB (3) 1
Sainsburys Boscolla The Lady Isabella cr excellent condition a real credit to
her owner. 2 Coopers Jumanda's Lily enjoying her day out unfortunate to meet the
winner. 3 Yelva Lady Wilhelmina to Warway.
