DACHSHUND - MINIATURE LONG HAIRED
Thank you for the
invitation to judge at this show. A very happy committee with a friendly
greeting from the chairman when I arrived which bode well for an enjoyable day.
I do not like to fault judge, but I did find the following: Round eyes, short
upper arms, upright shoulders, lack of depth of keel, and what has happened to
the hind movement? No drive, but stilted action. A Dachshund is a hound who
should be able to work covering the ground well to conserve its energy; however,
all exhibits were well presented, clean and all having clean teeth. I was
pleased with the conformation of my main awards and was interested to later
learn that both my BOB and BPIB were sired by Ralines Foreign Ambassador.
MPD(3, 2) 1 Shutt's Donnadoon Boogee Woogy. Sh/cream having good head,
front and reach of neck, good ribbing, moved with drive keeping a level topline.
PD(3, 1) 1 McCarthy's Nagshall Just Santana. Cream, presents a nice
outline, liked his head, front and shoulder, moved well keeping a level topline.
BD. 2 Scott's Dinkidax Dawn Breaker. B/t of the larger type, moved well and
shown in good condition, dog and handler need more ringcraft training, needs to
gain confidence on the table.
JD (2, 1) 1 Roper's Idirsholas Jazz's Gift. Cream, ok in head and neck,
would have liked better front assembly and slightly better ribbing and would
have liked to have seen more drive in hind movement. 2 D Dawn Breaker.
PGD 1 King's Doujac Rubus By Kingsdax. Red, liked his head and front
assembly, would have preferred better length of neck and ribbing, keeps topline
on the move, would have liked better drive from hind movement. Res BD.
OD(5, 3) 1 McCarthy's Nagshall Oklahoma Sunrise JW. Nicely made cream,
balanced throughout having sound movement. A Pity he did not like a change of
handler in the challenge. 2 Shutt's Donnydax Secret Dream Of Donnadoon. Sh/cream.
Ok for front assembly but not the rear angulation of first, shown in good
condition.
GCD (1) 1 Jazz's Gift.
MPB(5, 1) 1 Worswick's Dolyharps Desert Song. A well made brindle young
lady who caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. So well balanced fore
and aft having correct head and eye, good length of neck, good shoulder and
front assembly, well off for ribbing, moved with drive keeping a level topline.
A little fond of her tail but I was pleased to award her RBB and BPIB. Will
watch with interest her progress. I am sure she has a bright future ahead. 2
Muggleton's Doujac Blossom. Liked this cream puppy, she has good front assembly,
nice padded feet, good length of ribbing, moved well keeping a level topline,
unlucky to meet first today. 3 King's Doujac Willow At Kingsdax.
PB(3, 1) 1 McCarthy's Nagshall Love Changes This. Litter sister to Just
Santana but not so mature, however a nice puppy having good balance, with time
should present a pleasing picture for the future. 2 Murphy's Classidax Limited
Edition. Another who needs time to mature, presents a clean outline when
standing but needs to strengthen up all through when moving. JB(4,
2) 1 Rees' Yumares Victoria Jane. Two bitches having similar attributes.
Preferred first for her overall balance and movement. 2 Latham-Jackson's Urishay
Geranium. Shown in good condition, but not the positive movement of first.
PGB(3) 1 Tattersall's Asbach Artimis At Alanea. S/red presenting the
best outline in the class. Liked her head and eye shape, fair reach of neck,
kept a level topline on the move, shown in good condition. 2 Murphy's Classidax
Penny Black. Good front assembly. Would have preferred a better head shape and a
little too much rise over the loin for me.
OB(2, 1) 1 McCarthy's Nagshall Puppet On A String JW. Super cream
bitch, good head and eye, correct mouth, well made front, good topline and rear
angulation, moved with drive, rather fond of her tail today but pleased to award
her BB and BOB. Understand she has just got her first CC. I do hope the other
two will follow shortly.
GCB(2) 1 C Limited Edition. 2 C Silver Seraph. S/dapple, having good
head and eye, looses topline on the move, a little too high on the leg for me.
