Many exhibits looked good on the table but seemed to fall apart on the move. I
judged the breed two years ago, unfortunately, the same faults seem to be very
prevalent. Short upper arms and poor shoulder placement, poor feet and long
nails. I found no bad mouths and teeth were clean. Some
coats
needed attention and looked so sparse. I saw many tummy tapping and lack of
drive and no muscletone. I wonder how many have a good walk daily, after all
they are hounds. I know mine like a walk every day whatever the weather, and are
free to catch the odd rabbit, squirrel and pigeon and whatever they can catch
and get their teeth into (yes, they do get fed). I am sure some dogs were a bit
over the 11lbs. I would rather place a dog a few ounces over if that was the
best exhibit in the class. And lastly, thanks to my two efficient stewards.
