A disappointing entry numerically and neither the weather (very cold and
windy) nor the rather long grass were conducive to making the breed look at its
best. I found the quality of the males to be better than the females and was
delighted to see the BOB perform so well in a strong Group.
JD (3) 1 & Res CC Brown's Garbosa Rasing Cain, beautiful little chap.
Loved his head, eyes and expression, excellent neck, level back, well set tail
and he is really so well ribbed and bodied. Good sternum, ample ground clearance
and he shifted around the ring with that free flowing, determined stride. In
excellent bloom he looks a very positive candidate to reach the upper house. 2
Oxley's Dinkidax Justin Credible, promising shaded red which scores in body
development, hind angulation and soundness in action. I would like him to have
more reach of neck. His head has length, the skull slightly arched and his eyes
are a good colour. He and the winner coped best with the conditions. 3 Kennedy's
Denkena's Loganberry.
PGD (3) 1 Bell's Tolberg Super Ted JW, this b/t never put a foot wrong
in this class. He is a nice size, pleasing head, eyes and expression, well
arched neck and well defined sternum. His outline does draw the eye and he held
his shape so well in action. 2 D. Loganberry, this cream played up something
awful in the JD here where he seemed unwilling to move around the ring without
hopping and skipping. In this class he was much more settled. He has a good
head, lovely eyes and ears, perhaps could have more neck to advantage, well
ribbed with a good bend of stifle. Just a bit over happy with his tail at times.
3 Cooper's Jumanda's Renaissance.
LD (1) 1 Mee's Barlaines Star Time, this red was out of coat and was
certainly unhappy with the weather, his expression having that worried look
which suggested he felt a warm bed and a velvet cushion would not be refused! He
is a nice size, is well proportioned, very good foreface and mouth and once he
settled on the move, he was balanced in profile.
OD (5) 1, CC & BOB Hallsworth's Abydachs Aniseed this light red came
into the ring with all the style and swank of a CC winner. A delight to go over,
excellent head, eyes and expression, ample neck which assists the appeal of his
overall shape. He has excellent feet and bone, was in good bloom and he was the
soundest I had on view. Great in temperament and he has charm in spades. 2
Brown's Garbosa Garfield, another quality example of the breed from this clever
exhibitor. Brindle dog with so much to admire. His head has length, strong in
foreface, excellent ears and a generous neck length. Well ribbed and muscled, he
was in lovely bloom and was handled to advantage. His side action was balanced
but I felt he was just lifting his forelegs a shade higher than I like. Thus he
bowed the knee to his younger kennelmate for the RCC. 3 Brooks' Ralines Romeo at
Lydardlea JW.
PB (4) 1 & BP Brooks Lyndarlea Little Pearl such a glamorous little
cream package, oozing femininity from that pretty headpiece and dark eyes. She
is shapely in construction, ample reach of neck, well laid shoulders, sufficient
forechest and good bone and feet. In excellent bloom she went around the ring
with sass and style and so soundly. A very worthy BP. 2 Mitchell's Ralines Just
Jodie at Bronia so much to like in this b/c baby. Her head, eyes and expression
are a delight. She is very well ribbed, they carry well back to a strong loin
and her croup line is lovely. In super muscle and coat condition, she coped so
well with the conditions. I felt that the winner had the edge in reach of neck
which just gave her added appeal in outline. 3 Rees' Yumares Xandra.
JB (2) 1 Cooper's Jumanda's Silver Angel this dapple does not
immediately strike one, but on handling she proved to be so well put together in
construction. Well laid shoulders, good sternum, ribs carry well back to a
supple loin and well angulated hindquarters. She has good legs and feet, and was
one of the best movers of the day. Not in her best of
coats
but I think she could have a bright future. 2 Mee's Barlaines Springtime red
with not the reach of neck and outline of the winner. Nice size, very well
ribbed, enough forechest and her head is very good. I felt the winner had the
edge in eye and expression and this girl did not come towards me as truly as
Angel.
PGB (4) 1 Rowell's Tolberg Tia Drop At Emmajesk JW, so shapely and
stylish with lots of appeal in eye and expression. In excellent coat and muscle
tone,
she has a lovely reach of neck, moves around the ring with balance and a steady
stride. In the challenge I just felt that her head is that shade deep through in
skull for me. 2 Cooper's Jumanda's Silver Ribbon. I see she is the litter sister
of the JB winner. Another dapple of definite quality but sadly not in her best
jacket and she did not perform too well on the move which cost her dearly. She
is so good to go over on the table, has an air of real quality in head and
expression and surely will have better days. 3 McGavigan & Pettigrew's Walpines
Peel To Pettigans.
LB (4) 1 Woodvine-Shone's Hanishen Little Red Madam. I liked lots in
this charming little red bitch. Her head is balanced, the ears well placed and
frame her face so well. She has such a reach of neck, is well balanced in body,
the backline so good and she has very good angulation. She moved around the ring
with a light, even step. Just a little too full in eye for me which held her
back in the challenge. 2 Mee's Barlaines Black Princess, now I did like the eye
and expression on this sweet headed bitch. She has a decent spring and length of
rib, and has sufficient rear angulation. Not quite the front assembly of the
winner and whilst she was sound enough in profile action she lost her topline on
the move. 3 Kennedy's Denkena's Miss Booty Licious.
OB (6) 1 & CC Kennedy's Dekena's Black Swan, the more I looked at this
b/t the more she appealed. Good head planes, correct eyes for shape, colour and
expression, well weighted foreface and good fore assembly. She has a lovely
reach of neck, her backline was level and she was the smoothest mover in this
class, showing reach and drive. Her hindquarters are well angulated and she was
in very good coat. I believe this is her 1st CC. 2 & Res CC Mains' Scotiablue
Lilly Bell, a very showy b/t in full coat and moving around the ring like an
express train. Her construction is so good, excellent spring of ribs, sufficient
reach in neck, well boned with good feet and she shows non stop. I liked her
eyes and ears but felt that she was a shade deeper through in backskull than
Swan which swung the scales. 3 Brooks' Hanishan Eezy Magic Nite at Lyndarlea.
