Many thanks to the committee and exhibitors who, in the
main, were very sporting. I was looking for a sound free mover in a well
balanced body, a Dachshund in Miniature. Many exhibits looked the part
stacked but let themselves down on the move with a tummy tapping action,
instead of the economical and effective, rear driving thrust to cover
ground. The other concern for me was forward placed steeply angled front
assemblies. Four exhibits were slightly over 5kg but were still assessed
against classmates in all other aspects. Temperaments throughout the entry
were generally very good. Considering the above comments I found it
difficult to judge to type. Holistic assessment of exhibits was, and should
always be the order of the day as there is no such thing as the perfect
specimen.
MPD (4) 1 Bell's Tolberg Cream Dream. Good quality
baby, handsome headpiece with good eye shape, sound front assembly, quality
bone into good feet, held himself well on the move retaining outline,
parallel both ends, also covered well in profile. 2 Cawley & King's
Summerview Perfect Percy. Another with a lovely head and eye to give correct
expression, good angulation, tight well padded feet, firm topline, should
mature well. 3 Brooks' Lyndarlea Kenny.
PD (6) 1 Harris' Zarcrest Frozen Assets. Quality
elegant youngster, classy head and almond eyes, good bone and great feet,
clean sharp outline stacked, would have preferred more rear drive,
beautifully conditioned and presented. 2 Way's Sudasam Livin The Dream.
Another quality baby of lovely type, strong bone and firm strong feet, well
angulated front with good forechest, well ribbed, carrying a little excess
which, along with his heavy coat slightly detracted from his outline, very
promising, the best is yet to come. 3 Bell's Tolberg Cream Dream.
JD (3) 1 Norton's Halunke Going Dutch. RCC. Elegant
shaded rich red, correct 2 to 1 ratio, good head, nice eye shape, good
ground clearance, strong bone and firm well padded feet, well angulated
front and rear, long neck into firm topline, would prefer more prosternum,
sound fore and aft, super profile covering with long reach and powerful rear
drive, the sort to make light of a days work. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall
Wotsitalabout. Lovely quality headpiece, honest type, good body condition,
generally moved well and retained his outline, although slightly narrow in
rear movement today. 3 Woodage & Halsall's Totonian Dolore.
PGD (6, 2) 1 Latham-Jackson's Criscan Leonel Of
Urishay. Good head and eyes, well laid shoulders, good forechest, well
ribbed back, muscled and angulated rear allowed effective profile gait to
win the class. 2 Cooper's Jumanda's Renaissance. Black and tan with long
neck, good height to length ratio, good ribbing and strong couplings, moving
sufficiently well. 3 McCarthy's Nagshall Mr Tambourine Man JW.
LD (6, 1) 1 Oxley's Dinkidax Justin Credible. CC.
Compact shaded red with great temperament, sound front with well laid
shoulder and upper arm, firm topline, well ribbed with good underline, good
feet, would prefer slightly more conical masculine head and reachier neck,
it was his very sound true movement backed up by ground covering gait that
won CC. Never stopped showing, the more he went, the better he became. 2
McCarthy's Nagshall Just Santana JW. Lovely headpiece with almond eye, well
constructed in front assembly, presents a clean outline, well padded feet,
moved true both ways. 3 Woodall's Half Century At Rarewood.
OD (7, 2) 1 Kennedy's Denkena Loganberry. Compact cream
who is so well balanced, correct 2 to 1 ratio, good head and eye, good neck
and topline, well ribbed back, well angulated both ends, would prefer
tailset to be more fluent continuation of the spine, profile movement very
good, lost his front action in the challenge. 2 Brooks' Lyndarlea Silver
Moon. Another of a lovely size, conical shaped skull, good bonea nd feet,
well balanced with good ground clearance, moved true fore and aft, just
needed more rear drive. 3 Bedford's Garbosa Simply Splendid Of Dinkidudlor.
MPB (8, 2) 1 Mitchell's Bronia Peach Fuzz. CC, BP and
BOB. Stunning high quality cream, so well balanced throughout, pretty head
with almond eye, good forechest through to graceful line of keel, well
ribbed, clean shoulders with good length and set of upper arm, well
angulated rear, moving so soundly, super temperament, oozing breed type and
quality. 2 Bell's Tolberg Dazzling Daisy. Another lovely puppy, well
balanced, good bone and feet, moving well with more maturity and finish,
should do well. 3 Poole's Findowrie Dixie Rose.
PB (5) 1 McLachlan's Zarcrest Chillin Effects. Another
quality cream, lovely head, clean outline and balanced throughout, good
ground clearance, moved true and sound, with more maturity will have a good
future and trouble the best. 2 Metcalfe's Metadale Lorelei. Pretty compact
bitch of classic breed type, looked elegant and clean limbed stacked, excels
in overall balance, moved well once settled, just needs more time to finish.
3 Brown's Devoncream Diamond Trinket.
JB (4) 1 Norton's Halunke Dutch Affair. Pretty headed
rich red, long neck into firm topline, good body condition, well angled in
shoulderblade, would prefer more pro-sternum, well set rear angles, allowed
for great drive and freedom in profile, good ground clearance. 2 McCarthy's
Nagshall Loralei. Another well balanced good quality exhibit, good
forechest, retained outline on the move.
PGB (12, 3) 1 McCarthy's Nagshall Love Actually.
Feminine with good overall make and shape, good head and eye shape, strong
bone, well angulated front and rear, moved true and covered well in profile
to win class. 2 Brace's Xemxija Ice Flirtini. Another good quality honest
type bitch, quality bone into firm, strong feet, lovely head and eyes, moved
well. 3 Brown's Xemxija Ice Mimosa Is Devoncream.
LB (11, 2) 1 Angear's Ridgegrove Polly Anna. Clear red
of good size and type, excels in height to length ratio, very good
forechest, well angulated shoulder, good topline, retained her outline and
moved out well, presented in good body condition. 2 Brooks' Hanishan Eezzy
Magic Nite At Lyndarlea. Shaded red quality bitch, well laid shoulder with
good forechest, firm topline, clean in outline, well angulated quarters,
moving true both ways. 3 Norris' Criscan Khesia.
OB (12, 3) 1 Angear's Ridgegrove Bell Of The Ball. RCC.
Pretty feminine b/t quality girl, compact and well balanced throughout,
strong, firm topline, quality bone into tight feet, lovely body condition
and so well presented, moved true and soundly from all angles, overall
qualities and breed type won RCC. 2 McCarthy's Nagshall Puppet On A String
JW. Another with most of the required attributes and good bred type, very
good head and topline, moving sufficiently well from all angles. 3 Rowell's
Ch Tolberg Tia Drop At Emmajesk JW.
