The Miniature Dachshund Club is held at the Sports Connextion in Ryton-On-Dunsmore, a venue that is known to many.  It is most suitable for such an event with excellent facilities for all, plus superb flooring. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Officers and Committee for showing their solidarity towards me and keeping the faith, this in turn resulted in a an excellent overall entry of 113 exhibits. Once again, blowing out of the water the non-believers. Most importantly of all, thanks go to you, the exhibitors for your support. A friendly atmosphere prevailed through the whole show with many class winners applauded by a knowledgeable ringside. The initiative parade of stud dogs was most interesting and was a fascinating spectacle. "Other Breed Clubs take note"! As far as the Miniature Longs were concerned, I felt on the day there was no major issues apart from the odd one or two protruding elbows and front feet turning out. I have no desire to disrespect the more mature exhibit, but I did feel that the overall quality was coming from the lower classes; this in itself tells me that the breed is in a good situation for the future! VD/B (5) Good class to start the day. 1 Young's Ch Willowheath Hendrix. B/t. Quality exhibit throughout, pleasing to go over. Correct in head, eye and expression.  Reachy in neck with a correct front assembly. Plenty in rib with a level topline which leads to a well angulated rear. He has good bone with neat compact feet. Moved out with good reach and drive showing excellent foot falls. Held his outline on the go around at all times. Presentation was excellent. At one stage I considered him for further honours. Delighted to see him claim Best Veteran in Show. Congratulations. 2 Johnson's Ch Charpurdy Just Iss. B/t. Yet another quality exhibit and a worthy title holder. Has plenty to admire all through.  Feminine in head with a good dark eye, front assembly is correct, ribbing good with a well angulated quarter. Another that showed good attitude on the out and back. Topline not as firm in profile as the winner but was a picture of health. 3 Brooks' Lyndarlea Silver Moon. MPD (5, 2) Another good class, promising babies. 1 Brooks' Obdax Lynn's Badger At Lyndarlea. Silver dapple. Quality exhibit with plenty to admire. Head is of correct conical shape with a super dark eye which gives off a pleasing expression. Correct in neck and forequarters.  Excellent in rib which is carried well back. Good in topline and underline. Liked his well angulated rear. His bone is of good quality with neat compact feet. On the out and back he shows correct foot falls and holds a good outline on the go around, presented in A1 condition. Pleased to award him BPD, so close for BPIB. Should with normal luck have a bright future! 2 Weston & Johnson's Gairhia Twice As Nice At Ecotyne. B/t. Has good overall attributes. Head, eye and expression all correct. Good in front assembly, plenty in rib with a good topline.  Overall picture on the stack is pleasing. He has correct bone with neat feet. Does need to firm up behind going away but does hold a good outline on the go around. Promising. 3 Bowman-Davis' Timshaws Storm Quest. PD (8, 1) A somewhat mixed class of types! 1 Brooks' Lyndarlea Kenny. B/t. Pleasing to go over on the table.  Correct in head which is of good shape and balance. Excellent in eye and expression, topline and underline good with plenty of rib. Liked his well angulated rear. Whilst he is sound coming and going, I felt he would have benefited for a bit more width. Pleasing in outline on the go around and was well presented and schooled! 2 Cawley & King's Summerview Perfect Percy. Red. Another with plenty to admire throughout. Head, eye and expression all correct. Well constructed forequarters, plenty in rib. Quality in bone with excellent well padded feet. Moved out soundly on the out and back just preferred the winner in rear angulation on the stack. 3 Earley's Lilacfen Sunny Delight Of Yelva. JD (6, 2) 1 Harris' Zarcrest Frozen Assets. Cream. Won this class with so much in hand.  Excellent individual of above average merit. Scores with his correct head proportions with a super eye and expression topped off with correct pigment. His general outline is so pleasing with a spot on topline and correct underline. He is well angulated in his quarters with short strong parallel hocks. He stands on excellent bone with super tight compact feet. Moved out soundly on the out and back displaying good foot falls. Holds a true outline on the go around. So close up today, will I'm sure gain his crown in due course. RCC. I must say if there was such an award for presentation this exhibitor for me would win it hands down. Not a hair out of place on this exhibit! 2 Bedford's Ymares Xavier Of Dinkidudlor. B/t. Honest individual with a correct head, eye and expression. Reachy in neck with a good front assembly. Ribbing is good with a firm topline. He has good bone and feet. Moved out soundly on the out and back, not in his best jacket today. 3 Bowman-Davis' Timshaws Storm Quest. YD (1) 1 McCarthy's Nagshall Mr Tambourine Man. Red. Standing alone but did warrant his place.  On inspection, personally for me, I would have preferred slightly less width in skull, but his eye is good, correct in neck and topline. Ribbing is ok with correct overall balance. He still needs time to fill his frame, this should correct itself in time. Moved out soundly. PGD (7) Mixed class of varying degrees of quality. 1 Cooper's Jumanda's Renaissance. B/t. Honest individual, pleasing in head which is well balanced. Good in eye and expression. Neck ok with an acceptable front assembly. He is well ribbed with correct bone and feet. On the stack he holds a pleasing outline. He is sound on the out and back and holds a decent top line on the go around. Presented in excellent condition. 2 Latham-Jackson's Criscan Leonel Of Urishay. Red. Handsome individual with a correct head which has good balance. Correct in eye and expression. Topline and ribbing good, correct in general outline and he stands on good bone with compact feet. Moved out with purpose. Close up to the winner.
3 Pitfield's Follyfield Figaro. LD (11) No absentees, excellent class to judge! 1 Walters' Ralines One Of Those. Cream. He certainly is! I judged this young exhibit at the Miniature Club Open Show in June 2014, whereupon I awarded him Best Puppy in Show. I thought it would not take long for him to reach the upper house, heading a strong class today. Stunning head qualities of the correct conical shape with a super dark eye and excellent pigment. Excellent front assembly with plenty of rib. Scores with his level topline and correct underline which all leads to a well angulated rear. He has quality in bone with neat compact feet. It's when he moves he puts the issue beyond doubt displaying such reach and drive which is a joy to watch. His outline on the go around is a thrill to witness; whilst still a junior I feel there is more to come from this exhibit. Just loved his overall attitude for the game. Whilst the catalogue does not credit him with his title, I was pleased to be informed after judging, that today was his fifth CC.  Later on he fended off the strong challenge from the bitch CC winner for BOB. Delighted to witness him take Reserve Best in Show. 2 Brooks' Lyndarlea Cosmic Prince. Cream. Plenty to admire about this exhibit. On the day just ran into one in such sparkling form! He has a well proportioned head with a good eye and pigment. Excellent in neck with a good forehand, plenty in rib which is carried well back. Level in topline with a good underline. He stands on quality bone with neat compact feet, displaying accurate foots falls on the out and back and held his outline on the go around at all times. Presented in excellent order. With normal luck should have his day! 3 Earley's Yelva Mister Brandy Man. OD (6, 1) Yet another interesting class to sort out. 1 Brown's Garbosa Raising Cain. Choc/tan. Interesting individual of good merit. Good shape in head but would prefer a little less fuller in eye. Excellent in neck with good ribs which are carried well back. He is level in topline with a good underline. He stands on quality bone with excellent compact feet. Moved out with purpose. A little more width going away would be to his advantage but does hold an eyecatching outline on the go around. Presentation was first class. I'm sure he will make that grade with normal luck. 2 Holmes' Ch Tammera Touch Of Class. Red. A worthy title holder, quality in head, eye and expression. Good in neck and forequarters. Well ribbed with correct bone and feet. Good in topline and underline. Moved out soundly on the out and back and held a pleasing outline on the go around, just felt that "Cain" put that little extra in, no disgrace here. 3 Broad's Neetanauf Sea Magic JW. MPB (8, 3) 1 Whitnall's Cankasper Myss China Doll. Red. Has above average quality. Correct in head which is feminine and well balanced with a lovely dark eye and melting expression. Correct in front assembly with plenty in rib. On the stack she is pleasing in outline displaying correct balance. She has quality in bone with neat compact feet. Sound on the out and back and held a true profile on the go around and was presented in good order. Should have a bright future. 2 Young's Willowheath Silver Charmer. Silver/dapple. Another young lady that has plenty to admire. Feminine in head with a good eye, plenty of neck which flows into a well laid shoulder. She is well ribbed with a correct topline. Liked her well angulated quarters. Again sound on the out and back displaying correct foot falls. Close up to the winner. Overall I'm sure these two will swap placings! 3 Brace's Xemxija Starlet. PB (8, 2) Another class of promising youngsters! 1 Cooper's Jumanda's Silver Slipper. Silver/dapple. An eyecatching individual with quality to spare. On inspection she has a true conical shaped head with an excellent eye and expression. She is reachy in neck which in turn leads to a well constructed front assembly. She possess that quality of being long, low and level which gives off such a pleasing picture on the stack. Her ribbing is excellent which is carried well back. Her topline is true with a good underline. Her bone is good with quality neat compact feet. On the out and back she displayed positive reach and drive holding a good outline on the go around. Presentation was first class. Pleased to award her Best Puppy Bitch and later on Best Puppy in Breed fending off the challenge from the puppy dog.  In my opinion there is no reason why this young lady should not wear her crown in the future! 2 Mee's Barlaine's Golden Delight. Red. Has so much to admire all through. Ultra feminine well proportioned head with a good eye and expression. She is so well balanced in outline with plenty in rib. At this early stage bone and feet are good just needs time to move with confidence. One for the future. 3 Phillips' Summerview Up And Coming For Daxphilly. JB (9) Quality class with plenty to admire throughout. First two home top drawer exhibits. 1 Worswick's DolyHarp Coppelia. Cream. Such an eye catching individual of true quality. She excels in head qualities which is a true conical shape with excellent balance, super dark eye which in turn gives off a melting expression. Spot on in front assembly with a solid top line accompanied with a good underline.  Her rear angles are so true with strong parallel hocks. She has just the right amount of ground clearance which plays to her advantage. On the move, loved her attitude and willingness to please. Her foot falls are true on the out and back and her profile on the go around is a joy to witness! I feel there is still more to come from this exhibit.  Pleased to award her the CC today, her fourth. Congratulations! 2 Mitchell's Bronia Peach Fuzz. Cream. Yet another top drawer exhibit with so much to admire. Again possessing a stunning headpiece with excellent eye and expression and good pigment. She is forward in body with excellent ribbing. She is well angulated in her forequarters with plenty in rib. Spot on in topline and underline. She too is well angulated in her rear and has quality in bone with correct feet. She moved out with style both on the out and back. To split these two I just preferred that little extra ground clearance of "Coppelia" but that is just my preference. There is no doubting this exhibit will wear her crown in due course. Today the RCC and no disgrace here! 3 Cooper Jumanda's Silver Slipper, completing a trio of top quality girls! YB (6, 2) 1 McCarthy's Nagshall Love Actually JW. Cream. Won this class for over all type. Feminine, well proportioned head with a correct eye and expression. Correct in front assembly with plenty in rib. Level in topline which leads to a well angulated rear. Her bone was good with neat compact feet. Put her best foot forward on the out and back and kept her profile on the go around. 2 Pitfield's Follyfield Filamena. B/t. Has plenty to admire, correct balance in head with a good eye and expression. Reachy in neck with a good front assembly. Plenty in rib with a level topline. Her rear is well angulated with strong parallel hocks. She displays a pleasing outline on the stack and moved out soundly. 3 Edwards' Barok Honey Bea. PGB (7) 1 McCarthy's Nagshall Just So JW. Cream. Litter sister to "Love Actually" winner of the previous class.  Liked her for her overall make and shape. Quality in her feminine well-proportioned head with a correct eye and expression. Good in front assembly with plenty in rib. Kept her topline at all times. Her bone has quality with compact neat feet. She displayed good reach and drive on the out and back holding a good profile on the go around. 2 Johnson's Charpundy Just Ification, b/t. Another good exhibit that scores in head, eye and expression. Good development in forechest with a well constructed front assembly. She is good in rib with a well angulated rear. Yet another quality exhibit to go over. Feminine well proportioned head with a good eye and expression. Good in neck and front assembly. Scores well with excellent ribbing. Her general outline on the stack is pleasing on the eye. She moved out with purpose on the out and back. Pushed the winner all the way; close up! 3 Broks' Hanishan Eezy Magic Nite At Lyndarlea.
